Last weekend, I was invited to a birthday party in Fribourg with the dress code «Choose a Quentin Tarantino Movie Character». The possibilities are versatile but one that I truly liked and that looks great in daily life is the style of Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman) in Pulp Fiction. The 1994 movie is known for its many twists, but most poignant of all is her dance with Vincent Vega (John Travolta). It’s in that scene that Mia sports the outfit that has inspired one of the most popular Halloween costumes of the last two decades, with a white button down shirt as the quintessential piece combined with black cropped pants.
My look: Bandage flared pants
by Hervé Léger, cotton-poplin shirt, sequined gun shoulder bag, and Janis suede platform pumps, all by Saint Laurent, Petit Jardin embroidered stretch-tulle underwired bra by La Perla
, and diamond ring by Vainard Fine Jewellery.
You’ll never watch that scene the same way again when I tell you what else made it so iconic for a fashion lover. It was the nail polish on Mia’s fingers. First debuted at the F/W 1994 CHANEL show, Le Vernis Rouge Noir made its screen debut in Pulp Fiction 25 years ago. Until today, the hue is still one of the most coveted—and questionably duped—color in both fashion and beauty history.
I really like this hair style (the wig is from atop.ch). What do you think? Time to get a new hair cut?
LoL, Sandra

Last week, I spent two amazing days in Venice with Atelier Swarovski and Marie Claire Italia for the Film Festival. Before telling you more about the event, I would like to show you my sparkling outfit. The dress is from Mary Katrantzou’s S/S 2013 collection and for me one of the best gowns every done with Swarovski crystals. It is like a piece of art. To finish off the look, I combined some real diamonds with some eye-catching items from Atelier Swarovski’s new Tigris collection.
My look: Alias dress with Swarovski crystals (S/S 2013) by Mary Katrantzou, Cassandre small suede shoulder bag by Saint Laurent, Cha Cha crystal-embellished suede pumps by Alexandre Vauthier, diamond ring and diamond bracelet, both by Vainard Fine Jewellery, Tigris statement necklace, Tigris drop earrings, Tigris bangle, Tigris stacking rings and Tigris cocktail ring, all by Atelier Swarovski.

Speaking of shoe fall trends, there is no way not to be mentioning Prada. The heavy-duty combat boots we saw on the Italian fashion label’s F/W 2019 runway above are already poised for huge success, and they’re joined by similarly utilitarian styles from Fendi and Balmain, which I predict fashionistas will wear with floaty dresses or tuck their trousers into.
If you’re wise enough to make an investment now, shop the boots that speak to you the most (before everyone else does)… don’t say I didn’t warn you!

The micro bag-as-necklace concept is such a great and practical trend for F/W 2019. Being hands-free and carrying all your valuables around your neck is the perfect option when hitting the dance floor. Furthermore, it makes you look like a young girl… remember when you left to your school trip with that pouch dangling from your neck and you hated it?!
Now, it is time to make peace with these stylish options below:

Studded pouch necklace by Saint Laurent

Le Pitchou mini textured-leather pouch by Jacquemus

Tri-pouch necklace by Loewe

Maria small leather pouch by Gabriela Hearst

Purse pouch necklace by Y’s

Which one is your favorite? I went for Gabriela Hearst… so sophisticated and stylish.

On Saturday we celebrated Street Parade in Zurich, the most attended technoparade in Europe. I prefer leaving the streets to the ravers as I find it too crowded but I still enjoy the music very much. Therefore personally speaking the place to be is the Boum-Boum au Lac party in the exclusive garden of the Hotel Baur au Lac where I also stayed that day in a beautiful corner suite. As it rained the whole morning, it was tough to decide on the outfit. Finally the sun came out and I went for this bohemian style.
My look: Veneto cropped off-the-shoulder crinkled ramie and cotton-blend gauze top
, Veneto shirred crinkled ramie and cotton-blend gauze maxi skirt
and raffia belt bag
, all by Zimmermann, suede and wooden clogs
by Miu Miu, beaded bracelet by Saint Laurent, gold-tone necklace with shell charms
, and gold-tone and shell choker
, both by Isabel Marant, bohemian headpiece by Chanel.
LoL, Sandra

The shape of Egyptian pyramids is thought to represent the primordial mound from which the Egyptians believed the earth was created. There is something enticing about their structure with its mesmerizing symmetry, yet captivating simplicity. This F/W 2019 season, designers were inspired by the structural benefits of this three-dimensional triangle shape that allows an evening handbag to provide spaciousness with plenty of room to store the necessities of the night.
Personally speaking, those pyramid bags have a luxury feel, and retain an element of the mysterious that I truly love. Which one is your favorite?
