My Look: Rooftop Bar

It’s all over town. I have enough of winter and cannot wait for the warm season to come… just a few more month to go during which I have to indulge in memories of days spent in the South of France. Here you see me on the rooftop bar of the Hotel de Paris in St. Tropez during the Asmallworld weekend … heaven on earth.

My Look: Mira Mikati

I love going to press previews for beauty products as it is always fun to explore the newest innovations before their official launch date. Here you see me in December at the Shiseido press day hosted at Zurich’s Sihlcity in a loft dominated by urban concrete walls, which was allowing the colorful product packaging to take center stage. If you are wondering, Nars, Azzedine Alaïa, Issey Miyake, Narciso Rodriguez, all belong to the Shiseido Group and I am looking forward to sharing those new must-haves with you during the coming weeks.

Just as much as I enjoy discovering new beauty products, I adore spotting new fashion designers. One that I truly enjoy wearing is London-based designer Mira Mikati who began her fashion career as co-founder of concept store Plum. Her eponymous collection was born of a collaboration with Parisian brand Façonnable and a desire to create «something fun that was also beautifully tailored». Her jackets, pants and sweatshirts are emblazoned with emojis, cartoons and playful graphics. I absolutely love her frenzied innocence that shows in a melange of smile-inducing detailing. You have no idea how many compliments I got that day for my outfit!

Saving the best for last: what a surprise for me to be reunited with my beloved Montasar Dumas who works for Shiseido in Paris (my avid readers might recognize him from his days at Dior when we always had a lot of fun together).

My Look: Ready, Set, Snow!

Today, I am flying back from an amazing trip through Yucatán. For the past two weeks, I tried to stay away as much as I could from social media and other work related distractions to recharge my batteries fully. Here you see me at Wasserngrat Restaurant during the ASW Winter Weekend in Gstaad in December. I cannot imagine that I have to get back to winter clothes in a few hours… but I have to admit they look nice as well.

My look: Ski overall with fur embellishments, fur snow boots, and gloves, all by Prada, fur stole by FendiBoy bag with chains by Chanel, embroidered sweater by Gucci.

Fendi’s Triplette for a Triple Effect

Is there a miraculous formula for creating an It-bag? Probably as Tim Blanks pointed out in an interview with Business of Fashion recently about the biggest trend for the upcoming S/S 2018 season, it is all about «making the ordinary extraordinary».

Fendi‘s new Triplette clearly conveys that message. One bag is not enough. More is more is the motto! Three small clutches connected by a Fendi logo charm (the label’s new signifier) allow you to store your personal belongings in a very organized way. But pragmatism alone won’t make an It-bag. It is the combination of sizes, colors and finishes that make it an effortless option for day and night. Each pouch can be detached and styled solo. My advice? Get two and mix and match!

Day to Night Mini Bags

With just enough room for your phone, keys and cards, mini bags are a fuss-free day-to-night option. Perfect for traveling light, these compact bags are just as stylish as their regular and oversized versions. From shoulder bags to cross-body, clutch and tote styles, mini bags come in a range of colorways and designs.

Look out for Givenchy‘s Antigona, Dolce & Gabbana‘s Sicily, Fendi‘s Peekaboo, Stella McCartney‘s Falabella and many more, for scaled-down versions of iconic bags.

Trend alert! Wear two or three at a time! Below are some of the best options to choose from.

Accessories Trend: Pompom Everything

This accessories trend is pure fun and has become one of my favorites. Pompom embellished pieces have been popping up everywhere since last summer (remember those to-die-for pompom boho sandals?!). This colorful accent is fun and flirty – I adore the way these colorful little balls look hanging off the straps of a pair of beachy summer flats, on a straw hat or a great beach bag. It just puts me in a good mood.

Here are my favorite pompom-accented pieces that are sure to complete your summer wardrobe!

And great news is these little pom-poms are here to stay for winter… for winter those cute balls come in all sorts of fur, best seen at Fendi:

My Look: Boho Garden

Perched on a hilltop in Provence, St. Paul de Vence is well worth visiting. Walking through the narrow streets of this little old medieval town with its modern and contemporary art ateliers and galleries is absolutely beautiful. The flowers, the roses, the gardens, you feel the bohemian vibes in every corner. If you’re an art lover you should already know that Marc Chagall lived his last years there and that he’s buried in the local cemetery.
