Yesterday evening, I went to the launch party of SI Style‘s newest magazine edition: STYLE BEAUTY which will be available from today. The event took place at the beautiful Sonnenberg restaurant in Zurich. The room was filled with the who’s who of the Swiss beauty industry.

Today is a traditional Spring holiday in the city of Zurich, which is called “Sechseläuten” (In Swiss German: Sächsilüüte). Since the early 20th century, it is celebrated on the 3rd Monday of April of every year. Following the parade of the “Zünfte” (guilds), the culmination of this popular tradition is the burning of winter in effigy, in the form of the “Böögg” (cognate to bogey), a figure of a snowman prepared with explosives.
It is said that the time between the lighting of the pyre and the explosion of the Böögg’s head is indicative of the coming summer: a quick explosion promises a warm, sunny one, a drawn-out burning a cold and rainy one. So let’s keep our fingers crossed that this head will be falling off fast today!
As the roots of the festival go back to medieval times, I was inspired to this look: Printed silk-organza midi dress by Dolce & Gabbana, Skull studded leather box clutch by Alexander McQueen, Noeud 120 bow-embellished leather peep-toes
by Christian Louboutin and Leonard 2 round-frame acetate sunglasses by Illesteva.

At the moment I am obsessed with braids and biker jackets. The two of them in combination add just the right amount of sweetness and rock allure to every outfit.
Today’s look: Black leather biker jacket
(also available in red) and suede ankle boots, both by Saint Laurent, flared barnacle-intarsia dress by Alexander McQueen, cashmere and silk-blend cardigan by Miu Miu, earrings by Dolce & Gabbana, ring by Etro, Birkin bag by Hermès and black velvet deluxe tights
by Wolford.

So yummy and sweet! I adore Dolce & Gabbana‘s new fragrance named THE ONE DESIRE, a successor of the popular fragrance The One, launched in 2006. The olfactive statement speaks of pure femininity, complementing the collection with a bouquet of intoxicating notes to create an opulent scent. Once again, Scarlett Johansson is the face of the campaign photographed by Terry Richardson.
Desire. Seduction. Strength.
“Everything starts with desire. There wouldn’t be seduction, sensuality or passion if it wasn’t for desire. For us, it’s always been fundamental to let this sensation go, to break the mould and live free by emotions.” – Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana

THE ONE DESIRE
Oriental Floral
Top notes: Mandarin, lychee, bergamot and lily of the valley
Middle notes: Madonna lily, Indian tuberose, jasmine and plum nectar
Base notes: Vanilla, caramel, sandalwood, musk and Cistus Labdanum
In stores now. Eau de Parfum, CHF99.00 / €69.00 (30ml), CHF149.00 / €93.00 (50ml) and CHF179.00 / €117.00 (75ml).

As you know, I was with Montblanc in Los Angeles recently. One spot that is fun to visit is Madame Tussauds Hollywood Wax Museum which is located right next to the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame.
I jumped in the middle of all the touristy action and went a little crazy. But I mean where on earth can you in one day…

…get a close-up with Steven Spielberg…

…sit next to Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump…

…dance with Madonna…

…chat with Jack Nicholson…

… make fun with Jim Carrey…

…get a photo with Angelina Jolie…

…see Michael Jackson again…

…hold hands with Robin Williams…

…swing your hips with Beyoncé Knowles…

…be so close to Hugh Jackman…

…hang from the ceiling next to Spiderman…

…and get to film with Alfred Hitchcock?
My look: Two-layered top by Gucci, distressed gray jeans by Dolce & Gabbana, embellished sandals by Prada, bangles by Chanel, necklace and sunglasses, both by Roberto Cavalli and Elsie bag by Chloé.

Those printed satin sandals by Dolce & Gabbana arrived in my closet this week and it was a true pleasure opening the package. Not only the shoes are beautiful, but also their box and vibrant dust bag. The colors set the mood for a hot, golden summer – I am loving it!
