Met Gala 2015

MET_GALA_2015_Cover

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s Costume Institute in New York City and marks the grand opening of its annual fashion exhibit. Celebrating this year’s theme “China, Through The Looking Glass”, it seems to be one of the most challenging yet. See below who honored China’s heritage and its present culture on the red carpet best.

This year’s award to best dressed of the night goes to:

Jeremy Scott for Longchamp

JS Longchamp

«Humpty Dumpty», a nursery rhyme, that is part of our childhood. It is full of innocence and naivety. It is popular. It can be sung, danced or even mimed sometimes. It is accompanied by unforgettable pictures and characters.

Jeremy Scott is evoking this nursery rhyme from on Longchamp’s Le Pliage® bag this season with his quirky sense of humor and colorful pop world. The print is a mix of rabbits, elephants, mushrooms, tortoises and more.

This new «Humpty Dumpty» limited edition with extravagant motifs will be on sale exclusively at Colette, Paris, from May 1, 2015, and available in Longchamp points of sale from June 1, 2015. Don’t miss out on this playtime treat!

My Look: Barbie Girl

Cover-Sandra Bauknecht in Moschino Barbie Style

Here is my Moschino look that I wore to the Alexander Wang x H&M launch event in NYC. “Barbie is so joyful – and I wanted to bring some joy and fun into fashion,” said Jeremy Scott of the inspiration behind his S/S 2015 collection for the Italian house that has been available right after the runway show to the customers. Needless to say, being a huge fan of Barbie, I had to shop those pieces first hand. Please don’t take this post too seriously, as Jeremy said it is all about having fun and that means sometimes being a little cheesy and tacky.

My look: Logo intarsia cropped sweatermatching cotton mini skirt and leather jacket shoulder bag, all by MoschinoJanis embellished suede ankle boots by Saint Laurent, earrings by Prada, diamond ring and diamond bracelet, both by Vainard Fine Jewellery.

My Look: Good Girl

My new overly cute clutch broadcasts GOOD GIRL, so I know exactly where I am mentally at any given moment. Moschino is a brand to watch tremendously, as it is enjoying a revival thanks to Jeremy Scott who took the helm at the famous Italian brand. Click here for a previous post to see how he injects the label with his irreverent blend of high and low starting this upcoming F/W 2014 season.

My look: Sleeveless leather biker jacket iconby Saint Laurent, red dress and Good Girl clutch, both by Moschino, pearl necklace with bow by Moschino Cheap and Chic, leopard print hat by Dolce & Gabbana and lace sandals by Givenchy. Limelight Gala watch and diamond rose ring, both by Piaget.

Fast Fashion – Aren’t You Lovin’ It?

Fast Fashion Moschino

Love or hate it? I like playing with fashion and Jeremy Scott‘s fun approach for Moschino for the F/W 2014 season has already started to be eaten up by the fashion crowd. Combining Ronald McDonald and Coco Chanel, he send down tops and quilted bags in the colors of the famous fast food chain.

Franco Moschino was known for his humorous take on fashion and his successor Jeremy Scott, who is an icon of junk culture, managed to design trash pieces that are flying off the shelves.

Moschino Capsule Collection

The capsule collection is already available online on the MOSCHINO website and it is almost sold out. It will also be available soon on net-à-porter.

What do you think about it? Aren’t you lovin’ it?

The Italian Job – Moschino Pre-Fall 2014

Cover Moschino Prefall 2014

While we are indulging in the newest spring trends, the designers are already showing pre-fall 2014. And one has absolutely caught my eye: MOSCHINO. With Jeremy Scott being now being at the helmet of the brand (he was an intern once), there is a creative director, who knows how to live up to the humorous take the brand is famous for.

Moschino_018_1366.450x675

Moschino_007_1366.450x675

I am convinced that founder Franco Moschino, who died in 1994, would have loved those “jacket bags” and “biker backpacks“. OMG! To die for!

Moschino_003_1366.450x675

Moschino_027_1366.450x675

Everything that Scott showed has been “molto italiano“. I just love it! And you see, I told you, you shouldn’t have thrown out your Moschino logo belt and bag. I kept mine and here I go!

At Anna Dello Russo’s Paradise Ball

Paradise Ball

Thursday night, during Paris fashion week, an extravagant party launched the AdR at H&M collection with theatrical flair. Hosted by H&M together with fashion icon Anna Dello Russo, the Paradise Ball took place in Paris famed cabaret nightclub Paradis Latin.

ADR Party

The glitzy party married fashion, performance and a live showcase by music star Azealia Banks. Staying true to AdR’s belief that fashion is something that makes you dream, the eccentric party was all about fantasy and decoration.
Excess for me means success”, said the fashion icon.

The playful line of jewelry, shoes and accessories that Anna Dello Russo designed for H&M, will be on sale from October 4, 2012, in 140 stores worldwide and online. Below are some of my favourite pieces.

Street Style NYC: Gray & René

Gray & René

Are you curious what the PR people at H&M were wearing for the Versace for H&M show in NYC? Here is what Gray and René from the Swiss department chose. Naturally, some cool pieces by H&M. Only Gray was a little unfaithful and sported a pair of awesome sequined sandals from Zara. And guess what my little eyes spied on René’s wrist? The fabulous “Swatch portrait” by Jeremy Scott for Swatch! Thumbs up, great style while going easy on the budget!

Jeremy Scott for Swatch – Part 2

sc01_Jeremy_02

Swatch has teamed up with the American designer Jeremy Scott for the second time to create a range of five new watches. Scott’s latest designs for the Swiss brand are typically bold and provocative – just as we know his eponymous fashion creations. These Swatch timepieces therefore demand attention, ensuring anyone wearing them stands out from the crowd for all the right reasons. Today is not the day for minimalists!

S/S 2011: The New Erogenous Zones

Versus S/S 2011

Versus S/S 2011

Designers explored a new erogenous zone for S/S 2011: The waistline. Other body parts weren’t safe from exposure either.

With the help of cutouts, they played with detailing and the sexy allure. From small ones on the collarbone, stomach and bust that were seen at Versus to big, strategic cutouts accentuating the waist found on Salvatore Ferragamo’s dresses.

Salvatore Ferragamo S/S 2011

Salvatore Ferragamo S/S 2011

As it seems to be a sticky trend, we better start to work out.
Cutouts work only well on toned girls…
