Omega Celebrates a Family Affair in Paris

Why do all great things tend to happen at the same time? This what I am asking myself constantly, for example last week, the Zurich Film Festival has officially opened, Paris Fashion Week has started, and the tempting Oktoberfest in Munich celebrated its end. As you cannot attend everything, I had to decline an exclusive invitation to Paris with a heavy heart.

Last Friday, OMEGA has officially opened its «Her Time» exhibition in the French capital at the city’s historic Hôtel de Sully. Having already been showcased in Milan, Moscow, Shanghai and Sydney, this exhibition displays the house’s evolution of women’s timepieces and changing styles, from early Lèpine pendants and the iconic Ladymatic, through to «secret jewellery watches» and today’s latest creations.

Such a beautiful family, Kaia Gerber, Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford and Presley Gerber.

As an added highlight for guests, OMEGA also welcomed Cindy Crawford along with her beautiful children, Kaia and Presley, who have recently been announced as the brand’s newest ambassadors. Moreover, a family portrait taken by Peter Lindbergh on Malibu Beach was unveiled to celebrate the occasion. Having joined OMEGA in 1995, Cindy Crawford is one of brand’s closest friends and has been a renowned figure in the house’s advertising and events for over 20 years.

Raynald Aeschlimann at last Friday’s event in Paris with the supermodel family

OMEGA’s President and CEO, Raynald Aeschlimann said about the «new family members» of his brand:«Kaia and Presley represent the next generation of watch wearers. They are good looking, motivated, inspirational and full of energy. It’s incredible to have such a passionate family tradition within our brand and I’m so excited to begin working with these two young people.»

Personally speaking, I couldn’t agree more with Raynald. Kaia and Presley are stunning as their mom, who has been one of my favorite models since ever. I had the chance to meet the family on several occasions and they are all not only super good-looking, but also extremely kind and fun to talk to.

Fashion soulmates

I liked Cindy’s look a lot. Surprisingly, she decided not to go for something new season but to wear a knee-length dress in iridescent sequined jersey by Givenchyicon from their Pre-fall 2014 collection that I sported for the Fashion Days Zurich three years ago.

The «Her Time» exhibition can be seen at the Hôtel de Sully until the 15th of October 2017 from 9am to 7pm each day.

My Look: Fall Beauty

Isn’t it crazy how fast time goes by? It is already October and fall is here. Embracing the beauty of the season and indulging in the last warm rays of sunshine, I enjoy taking some of my favorite pieces out of my closet. Then everything feels somehow new again…

Throughout the month of November, happenings around the theme of music will be taking place, and a selection of Ready-to-Wear pieces and accessories from the F/W 2017 and the Cruise 2018 collections will be unveiled within a dreamlike scenography.

It is not the first time CHANEL is collaborating with Colette. In 2011, the French Maison already had a pop-up store at the legendary Parisian boutique. Back then, you were able to get your favorite CHANEL bag customized for example (see photo above). Over the years, they have also created many times beautiful window displays together.

The Hoodie

Trending now is the hoodie, but not just a hoodie… I am talking oversized, logo embellished, expensive and sold-out hoodies! The streets of New York, London, Milan and Paris have been filled with showgoers cocooned in those must-haves, and celebrities like Rihanna and Kim Kardashian are stepping out in hoodies that don’t call for any pants.

Suddenly, the hoodie becomes a luxurious wardrobe piece that you can dress up with a pencil or ruffled skirt and heels. But how much should you pay for a hoodie?

My favorite this F/W 2017: Cotton hoodie by Balenciaga
it comes with a hefty price tag of approximately CHF 600.00.

If you are maxing out your credit card for one of these beauties below, don’t feel guilty! It is worth this season… and if you don’t want to, no worries. You can always buy a CHF 10.00 hoodie and maybe look just as cool.

My Surf Air Experience

Flying to the UK for lunch on Monday sounds crazy to you? It might be. But if you are invited by SURF AIR to celebrate the launch of regular flights between London and Zurich, it is worth the time, especially that «saving time» is what SURF AIR is all about. It is private aviation with a regular schedule, «AIR WITHOUT LINES» is the slogan.

The first private plane being water arched in Zurich on Monday: A wet welcome to celebrate the launch of SURF AIR in Switzerland.

This first private air travel club of its kind is offering all-you-can-fly service for one monthly fee of CHF 3950 and is providing an effortless flying experience that saves valuable time with every trip. Operating a fleet of Embraer Phenom 300 Jets and Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, they fly to and from convenient airports in Europe and along the US West Coast and Silicon Valley, with additional regions and destinations to follow.

On our way to London in an Embraer Phenom 300 Jet, SURF AIR CEO Simon Talling-Smith with me.

You can arrive just 15 minutes before your flight. How amazing is that? No long lines, just hopping on the plane in style. As Simon Talling-Smith, CEO SURF AIR Europe, brings it to the point, compared to the hassle you sometimes experience at check-in or security at the commercial airport, SURF AIR is all about «being treated like a human being

Arrival lounge at London Luton airport.

For SUR FAIR‘s CEO, «Zurich is one of the most important airports that will be seeing the most flights in the near future.» Right now, there are 3 flights per week to London Luton and back, which are planned to be extended to 10 times per week. The company is also working on routes to London City airport to be a little closer to the city center than Luton airport.

SURF AIR’s Embraer Phenom 300 Jet that landed on Monday in Zurich.

Until March 2018, you will be able to fly to Munich, Luxemburg, Milan and Cannes from Zurich, followed by cities such as Frankfurt or Berlin. Also weekend getaways, such as Ibiza, are an interesting subject for SURF AIR.

Relaxing on board and saving time, probably one of the biggest luxuries of today’s world.

It is very convenient as you can book your spot on short notice depending on availability as often as you wish. All is included in the flat rate. Your luggage allowance is 15 kg. If this is not enough, you can get extra suitcases picked up at your home and delivered to your final destination. According to Talling-Smith, at the moment, SURF AIR has around 200 customers in Europe with one third being a female clientele.

Leaving Zurich from the private aviation terminal without the hassle of a commercial airport.

Personally speaking, if the route network is extended, it will be an amazing opportunity to use this service if you are traveling constantly to one of the mentioned destinations.

The narrow space allows great conversations.

When you become a member, you will have to pay a onetime entry fee of CHF 1300 plus the monthly flat rate of CHF 3950. Great news is that you can also book the service for just two months in the summer when you might be flying around more and then pause your membership for a few months. Moreover, you can book guest passes for family members, friends or business partners joining you on a flight.

Wishing SURF AIR a great start! I had a wonderful experience. To apply, click HERE please.

The Slouchy Boot

The knee- or thigh-high boot is the front-runner for fall. Look for it in ’80s-style slouchy leather with a sharp toe and an inverted heel. Pair it with a printed dress, a skirt, or over jeans.

Superstitious Alber Elbaz by Frédéric Malle

The illustrious fashion designer Alber Elbaz has met his match in the perfume world with this beautiful collaboration with Frédéric Malle. Created together with perfumer Dominique Ropion, the ever-mysterious Superstitious Eau de Parfum captures the elusive, unidentifiable scent of a woman’s dress.

Dream team: Frédéric Malle and Alber Elbaz

A classic floral aldehydic perfume structures Elbaz’s free-flowing vision of an elaborate fabric in which everyone can find their own beauty: Turkish rose oil and Egyptian jasmine, enhanced by a touch of peach, rest on a bed of amber and frankincense imbued with Haitian vetiver. A final touch of aldehydes sharpens the perfume’s opulence with an urban edge.

Moschino x My Little Pony Capsule Collection

Part of the S/S 2018 collection and available to shop straight after last week’s runway show, Jeremy Scott just brought My Little Pony to the Moschino catwalk. The brand’s creative director, who never strays far from popular culture when it comes to inspiration, has described himself as a full-blown Brony – for those who are a little unsure, it means an unexpected fan of My Little Pony.

So cute: My Little Pony Lunchbox printed leather shoulder bag

Donatella’s Tribute to Gianni

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the brutal murder of Gianni Versace in broad daylight in Miami Beach. I will never forget this moment when I saw the news on TV. I was studying fashion design and was at home working on one of my first assignments. At this time, Versace was big. We all dreamt of butterfly prints, safety pins, tight dresses and many more…

Gorgeous as her mother in the nineties… Kaia Gerber, daughter of Cindy Crawford, on the Versace S/S 2018 catwalk.

This week, Donatella Versace chose to stage her S/S 2018 show at Milan’s Triennale museum as a tribute to her late brother’s Gianni’s inspirations and creations. And so, for the first time since being the creative director of the company, she seeked inspiration directly from the house’s archives with all the key prints and pieces from the years 1991–95.

Versace in the ’90s

As I said those years marked the highlights of Gianni Versace’s designs. His most iconic collections included Vogue, Warhol, My Friend Elton, Icons, Baroque, Animalia, Native Americans, Tresor de la Mer, Metal Mesh, and Butterflies.

Beautiful finale of the S/S 2018 Versace: Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Helena Christensen posing in classic Versace chainmail dresses.

To celebrate «a genius . . . an icon . . . my brother» as Donatella said, the show fulminated in a finale that brought tears to my eyes. Gianni’s favorite models, Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Helena Christensen, appeared in golden gowns on stage, to the chorus of George Michael’s «Freedom! ’90.» Front row? Alessandro Michele, Anthony Vaccarello and Pierpaolo Piccioli applauded to Donatella’s tribute to the late master of fashion.

Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Christy Burlington lipsynching to George Michael’s «Freedom 90» for the finale of Gianni’s Versace’s F/W 1991 show. Back then fashion was truly fun!

The era of the top models: Gianni Versace surrounded by them in 1991.

A beautiful Versace ad campaign from the ’90s.

This moment reminded me why I chose many years ago the direction of fashion and how much the work of Gianni Versace in the ’90s had inspired me to do so.

Thank you, Donatella, for this little reminder, we all sometimes need in this busy life! And thank God that I have kept everything in my closet… time to dust the butterflies off…

Emilia Clarke for Dolce & Gabbana The One

Only two weeks ago, I cruised around the beautiful Amalfi Coast and enjoyed the flamboyant and vibrant lifestyle on the streets of Naples. Now, I have found the perfect fragrance that is dedicated to this South Italian lifestyle and pure femininity: DOLCE & GABBANA THE ONE Eau de Toilette.

Such a beautiful scent, a new fresh version of the celebrated fragrance classic that is available now. It is more powdery than the 2015 launched THE ONE ESSENCE Eau de Parfum and the original THE ONE Eau de Parfum from 2006. I am a big fan and needless to say… don’t we all wanna be THE ONE?!

DOLCE & GABBANA THE ONE Eau de Toilette
Oriental Floral

Top Notes: Lily, Bergamot, Mandarin, Lychee and White Peach
Middle Notes: Ylang-Ylang, Orange Blossom and Honeyed Broom
Base Notes: Vanilla, Vetiver and Musk

30ml : CHF 69.00  –  50ml : CHF 93.00  –  100ml : CHF 121.00

The talented British actress Emilia ClarkeGame of Thrones») is the face of the campaign, the new ambassador, gifting the beautiful photos with her irresistible smile and genuine warmth. She’s the one!

Shot in the streets of Naples, with real people living their daily life, the new advertising campaign for The One was directed by the Italian filmmaker Matteo Garrone.

Combining swing and jazz, the Neapolitan joyful soundtrack “Tu vuò fa’ l’americano” (“You want to be an American”) conveys even more happiness and togetherness while celebrating the genuineness and the charm of the Italian culture.
