As you know, the new edition of L’Officiel Switzerland that is hitting the newsstands today is dedicated to beauty. When we put the issue together, we wanted to feature Swiss women who influence the world of beauty in our Alpine country. Above you see lovely Patrizia Schlatter (photographed by Robert Bellamy) who brought together with her business partner Marc Winiger a great idea to life: INTHEWHITEROOM, Switzerland’s first beauty walk-in centre located in Basel that combines classic cosmetic and medical aesthestic treatments under one roof, following its slogan “walk in and enjoy beauty“.

Massages, a nail studio, a cryosauna, tooth whitening, all is promised to be enjoyed on short notice. Alongside skincare and beauty treatments there is also a range of innovative cosmetic products from exclusive brands such Sisley, Ligne St. Barth, SBT, Butter London, Revitala and Alphasense.

The latter is also featured in the new L’Officiel magazine. ALPHASENSE SWISS COSMETICS is a great program invented by Tanja Medweth (see photo below) to fight the signs of cellulite. The gorgeous brunette who is also living in the Basel area researched for many years and came up with the help of scientists with a five-step program featuring a body roller to stimulate the circulation, a firming power gel that breaks the vicious cellulite cycle, a basic powder and a herbal tea that both help to eliminate overacidification in your body, along with slimming pants that worn at night emphasize the effect extremely.

Congrats to those two amazing women that help making our world more beautiful! And of course congrats to our Swiss national soccer team for reaching the round of 16!

Today, Zurich’s famous food festival starts again: the 3rd edition of IL TAVOLO kicks off with the opening night at Gate Gourmet, the leading independent provider of airline catering. I feel very honored to be in the second consecutive year the ambassador of the PARK HYATT ZURICH, which is one of the host hotels besides BAUR AU LAC, EDEN AU LAC, STORCHEN, THE DOLDER GRAND and WIDDER HOTEL.

The kitchen battle is on: At the recent Il Tavolo kick-off event at Blaue Ente with Andermatt-Investor Samih Sawiris this spring.

Here you see me at last year’s opening party at Bärengasse cooking alongside Park Hyatt’s famous chef Frank Widmer, author of the cook book “The Cook and the Cowboy“. I cannot wait for our revival tonight…

Here is an exclusive preview that I am so excited to share with you. On Thursday, the third issue of L’OFFICIEL Switzerland with a focus on beauty and summer fashion will hit the newsstands. The cover story with Dita von Teese is a 14-page elaborate spread shot by Ali Mahdavi that showcases some iconic fragrances with an incredible mise-en-scène, courtesy of Vincent Darré. The images are complemented by an interview by Ali and his famous muse.

Recently I went to a very special event that took place at Zurich‘s new Neo Club on Europaallee. IRO Zurich had invited the city’s fashionable crowd to explore how fashion meets art. Swiss graffiti artist Shark hosted the URBAN ART ACT during which he live painted one of the French brand’s fabulous leather jackets. The performance appealed so much to the audience that everyone wanted to have the piece. Great news is that you can win this individual item in the September issue of L’Officiel Switzerland that will hit the shelves Mid August.

Good luck to you! In the meantime, I recommend a visit the IRO shop in Zurich on Strehlgasse 5. Probably the color combination of black and gold has inspired you a little… I like to add a pop of color as I did with my green bag.

PRADA is expanding its presence in Switzerland with the opening of its first store in Geneva, on the prestigious Rue du Rhône, designed by Italian star architect Roberto Baciocchi. Further, the fashion house takes the total number of its stores in the country to seven with two more openings, one in Crans Montana and one in Lugano.

Being the editor-in-chief of L’Officiel Switzerland has taken me on a wonderful journey that started with an amazing cover and fashion shoot in Paris. I am extremely proud of it and I would like to thank my wonderful dedicated team. Renowned photographer Marco Grob shot Swiss supermodel Patricia Schmid for our first issue. I did the styling and the three of us, being all aquarius, were a trio infernal! It is just a blessing to work with such highly professional people.

The first day, we photographed inside the gorgeous George V Hotel where my suite was transformed into a photo and hair & make-up studio.

The minute we started photographing this look, I knew this will be my cover!

The second day, we shot on location. Poor Patricia, it was freezing cold even though the sun was shining. But what could she do… cropped tops are a must this summer.

Fighting the cold with quick stops in the car…

… and a hot foot bath in the end of the day!

Last Thursday, I was invited for a beautiful evening, dedicated to fashion, aesthetics and beauty, in short FAEBAU at the Alta Aesthetica private clinic, located in Rheinfelden, east of Basel. The house, which is specialized in esthetic surgery, opened its doors in March 2012 in the former Grand Hôtel des Salines. A truly breathtaking building overlooking the Rhine. During a panel show, I was able to give an insight into my world as editor-in-chief of L’Officiel Switzerland and to share my own beauty secrets that you also find here on Sandra’s Closet.

My look: Aubine embellished satin-twill dress and Falabella crystal-embellished faux leather clutch, both by Stella McCartney, red leather boots by Prada, art deco earrings by Chanel and rose diamond ring by Piaget.

Last week, the first Karl Lagerfeld shop in Switzerland opened its doors at Jelmoli in Zurich with a fun party and I had the honor to unveil it. On the ground floor, you can find all accessories, bags and other fun gadgets. On the second floor of the famous department store, you can shop the prêt-à-porter collection.

The lovely Karl Lagerfeld team had flown in for the event.

The unveiling ceremony was fun. I gave a short speech and told a little anecdote about the first contact I had with Karl Lagerfeld many years ago as an assistant at Marie Claire magazine. As I am huge fan of him, I felt very honored to cut the ribbon of his first store in Switzerland.

Karl Lagerfeld on display for your home as part of a capsule range produced in collaboration with Manga-inspired brand tokidoki. He says: “I am very flattered that I became a ‘tokidoki’! I always loved them and I am very happy to be one of them”.
