The colour blocking trend for S/S 2011 is a fun way to wear vibrant hues. Today I am combining two strong and vibrant shades, turquoise and orange. One thing is for sure, we can carry this trend up through F/W 2011.
My look: Blazer, silk blouse, belt, bag and shoes, all by Gucci, leggings by Blumarine.

Orange and turquoise. It’s vibrant and energetic and one of the most exciting colour combinations this fashion season.

The new makeup trends usually suit the fashion trends of the moment so the look obtained can be complete. One of the hottest eye makeup trends for the S/S 2011 season are vibrant colours. If you go for it, keep the rest more simple and just add a touch of peach blush and gloss.
Bright, warm hues help create an adorable look which can be adapted to the occasion style as well as age.

Add a little pop of color on the fingertips! Bright nail polish is an easy way to get trendy, and a perfect addition to your spring break beauty routine. YSL’s Utopian Turquoise 137 gets me excited for the warm weather and you?

Tom Ford’s first collection under his own name for S/S 2011 is truly outstanding. His very secretive show was the most exclusive and buzzed about one last Fashion Week with famous models like Julianne Moore, Lauren Hutton, Karlie Kloss, Lou Doillon and many more. And now we can see what all the hype was about.

Like something that will be in a museum one day, it is every fashionista’s dream to have one piece of Tom’s first collection in her closet. Glamourous with a `70s feel to it, the cuts are immaculate, the fabrics just beautiful, those must-haves are already true classics.
The “King of Sex” managed to create a ladylike collection with a certain kind of seduction. Not so obvious like a Gucci girl, more subtle with an intelligent sex appeal, it is all about high-voltage glamour.

Especially the accessories are super: the bags with the exaggerated zippers and the ultra-sharp spike heels are among my favourites. But those dream pieces have their price.

I couldn’t resist. As you know, I love overalls. So that jumpsuit with the deep cleavage was immediatly my must-have. The fishnet bustier complemented the look for me perfectly. The little hat made me look like just having graduated from fashion college or probably being a flight attendant for Vamp Air.
The flap-over bag and the huge sunglasses are my daily companions. The boots are vintage, from Gucci’s F/W 2004 collection that was still designed by Tom Ford at that time. “Old” Tom meets “new” Tom and they get along well…

Enjoy the photos:

Needless to say, it requires heavy shopping but those pieces are very limited and retailers very rare. So here in Zurich we are among those lucky birds having a beautiful Tom Ford store for both genders in the middle of the city at Münsterhof 17. Please enjoy the photos I took of the shop and fall in love with the collection.
For further enquiries, you can contact the store under +41 44 221 02 50.
Happy Shopping!

Oh happy day… this morning a Fedex box arrived with a letter inside that put me over the moon.
A thank you note from Tom Ford himself!
Remember the interview I did with him for the Weltwoche Style Editions…

And crazy as I am, it already got a special place on the wall.
It is so easy to make a fashionista’s heart leap with joy.

Balmain gives the iconic “Star-spangled Banner” a rebellious twist with burn holes and saftey pins. Those US-flag inspired pieces are on every cool girl’s summer wish list; they had been definitely on mine:

Emulate the luxe glam-rebel look and start shopping by clicking on the banner below.
If you don’t want to spend so much on a distressed top, I recommend DIY! Get an iron on transfer motif (special printable paper) and try burning some holes in the old tee. Add some saftey pins and off you go! It should work pretty well.
In case that you are living in Switzerland, Trois Pommes carries a large variety of Balmain’s patriotic must-haves. Check it out!
4th of July will be around the corner soon…my stars and stripes are ready and yours?

Happy Good Friday to all my lovely readers! Here are some news for my Swiss readers: The May edition of the SI Style is available now with my third fashion column.
Cities like London and Paris are fascinating places during fashion weeks. This time, I am giving some insights what is going on behind the scene. Enjoy page 58!

Thank you to all of you who were sending me such sweet e-mails regarding my outfit that I wore to the Chanel show in Paris last month (see photo in the middle below). Some of you were curious about the colourful fur stole, so let me tell you more about it.

The fashion world has declared Prada’s hot accessory from the S/S 2011 runway show as the must-have item. Just look at who’s already been spotted with it.
First on the scene with the stole was no other than ueber-stylish editorilista herself, Anna Dello Russo.

Marc Jacobs wore it casually draped around his neck to party with Kanye West while Mary-Kate Olsen was trying to hide from the paparazzi with it. It has appeared in many editorials and Rihanna sported the stole in her latest music video for her single “S&M”.

It comes in an array of vibrant colours and is perfect to work this season’s colour block trend.
As it is mostly sold out worldwide, I have some exciting news for you. There are three pieces left in Switzerland. For further enquiries and the colour combinations available, please contact this number: +41 43 2110943.
Below you can enjoy some close-up shots of my “baby”. Aren’t those colours divine?!

Revived already on the last season’s runways, the hype sees no end – dot tights are still hot. The chic, French hosiery is the perfect lightweight alternative to heavy textured tights, these mostly-sheer hose provide ample leg coverage and a large dose of fun!
The trick to pulling off polka dot legs is to pair them with an equally bold patterned dress or top. My favourite ones are by Wolford and Falke.
(Available in different colours, tights and knee-highs).

On the photo above you can see me wearing the Rebecca tights in sahara/black, green suede pumps by YSL.
If you like the pieces, you better start stocking up your closet. Both versions are seasonal and won’t be available for long.
LoL, Sandra

Yesterday, I was invited to the Mister Schweiz (Switzerland) 2011 gala which is here a very big event. It was truly a live broadcasted spectacle.

The hot young guys, mostly in the beginning of their twenties, had to fulfill some fun tasks. Even that this is a fashion blog, I didn’t really think of dressing those beautiful toned bodies…I actually liked the boxer shorts pretty much.

The show had some great performers on stage, among them Italian singer Zucchero and famous world-class violinist David Garrett.

David Garrett with me... a funny guy.

Front row: Gorgeous Raquel Marquard who is the Mister Schweiz 2011 promoter

The jury from right to left: Julia Saner (model), Sara Hildebrand (entertainer), Bettina Portmann (SI magazine), André Reithebuch (Mister Schweiz 2009) and Indira Weiss (singer).

Enjoy the impressions of last night. The winner was Thurgau based 21-year old Luca Ruch who won the toss against Michel de Carolis from Basel who was actually my favourite.

Below you can find the details of my look from last night and like always start shopping immediately.
My look: Silk dress and jacket by Balmain, pumps by YSL, earrings and ring, both by Chanel and stingray Box bag by Céline.
