Gosh, this Zurich weather is driving me up the wall. I just got back with a nice tan from Ibiza but cannot show it as it is cold and rainy outside. What a pity!
A few days ago, I wrote a post about those lovely Burberry Prorsum capes and I tell you that this has been one of the best investments recently. You can easily throw it over your shoulder and it gives you just the perfect touch of warmth in the month of August. Later in the season you can add it as another layer to your winter coat. Get one now, you won’t regret it!
My look: Checked wool and cashmere-blend cape by Burberry Prorsum, leather shift dress
by Saint Laurent, cut-out ankle boots
by Balenciaga, Noé BB Bag in citron by Louis Vuitton, Cool gold-tone ring
by Lanvin, ring Mitza by Dior Haute Joaillerie, Lady Excalibur watch by Roger Dubuis and small check-print twill umbrella by Burberry.

This summer, fashion designers all around the globe have been showing off their origami skills, crafting skirts that ripple with razor-sharp pleats. Best played out in shimmering metallics as seen at Proenza Schouler, cut to midi length, this style has felt the freshest to me. Don’t you think that the color combination of black, white, rose gold and purple is just a dream?!
My look: Foil-paneled pleated cloqué maxi skirt by Proenza Schouler, black cropped knitted sweater and Dance metallic ballet slippers, both by Saint Laurent, purple pashmina scarf by Christian Dior, bar cuff in rose gold
by Balenciaga, nylon python print satchel with bows by Prada and Manuale thin 46mm rose gold plated watch by GaGà Milano.

My dearest readers, first of all thanks so much for all your lovely messages telling me that my blog went offline. I am very happy that Sandra’s Closet is finally back online.
One week ago, while I was working on a post, all of a sudden my screen turned white and I had no access any longer. First I thought that I encountered a technical problem but unfortunately somebody hacked my blog.

Since almost five years, I had been blogging on a daily basis. You have no idea how helpless I felt but as I was leaving to Ibiza the next day, I saw it as a chance to relax, to really go on holidays. Here on this magical island, many things have happened and I have to say sometimes you need this little wake-up call to finally see things clear again.
Now, all the issues are solved and I am back on track to share with you my favorite trends, stories and special moments in my life.
LoL, Sandra

After only two days in Paris for Haute Couture, I flew to Berlin to attend the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for my first time. I was pretty amazed how many celebrities and great collections I spotted in the German capital. During the next days, I will show you my favorites. In the meantime, enjoy this outfit post. It was really hard to dress as the weather changed hourly, from crisp blue skies to pouring rain. A nightmare if you are having curly hair like me!
My look: Smocked cotton-poplin dress
by Givenchy (50% off), suede and wooden clogs by Miu Miu, sky-blue Marcie hobo bag by Chloé, large pearl necklace by Chanel, Lady Excalibur watch by Roger Dubuis and Diorette ring by Dior Haute Joaillerie.

Marketing genius Calvin Klein knows definitely the best way to sell underwear and to keep everyone busy. Get hot models and celebrities, such as Miranda Kerr and Nicole Richie, to pose in your product and post photos to Instagram. The so-called “show yours. #mycalvins” campaign, a riff on the label’s iconic 1981 commercials starring Brooke Shields, is an image-driven initiative which simultaneously taps into the power of the pop culture “selfie” phenomenon and the reach of key digital leaders.

Thanks Calvin Klein for my new undies, here is my share to the campaign! And now it is your turn to post…

Yesterday, I had a lovely day surrounded by great friends to celebrate the baptism of little Ben. After the ceremony in the church, we went to the restaurant Seerose at the lake of Zurich for lunch and stayed until dinner. The big thunderstorm that was supposed to hit in the afternoon luckily waited to arrive in the evening.
My look: Cropped leather jacket by Prada, bonded laser-cut cotton-poplin bra top
and matching bonded laser-cut cotton-poplin skirt, both by Alexander McQueen, Rockstud leopard-print calf hair trapeze bag
by Valentino, Janis leather pumps by Saint Laurent, Mitza ring by Dior Haute Joaillerie, interlaced loop necklace by Dior, green calf hair cuff by Céline and Tank Américaine watch in yellow gold by Cartier.
McQueen’s Sarah Burton got heavily influenced by Mondrian‘s art this season. I am in love with her ability to mix different materials and turn them into one. This structured pleated skirt and top are both crafted from black cotton-poplin with a bonded laser-cut white overlay that gives them a three-dimensional effect that is unfortunately hard to see in the pictures.

Here is the outfit that I wore to the wonderful dinner hosted by Net-à-Porter
on Wednesday in London to celebrate Mary Katrantzou. To honor her and as I am a huge fan of her work, I wore one of her uber-fabulous designs from her S/S 2014 collection.
My look: Cropped printed satin-gabardine top and structured printed satin-gabardine skirt, both by Mary Katrantzou (great news, both pieces are now on sale), suede platform sandals and embellished python bag, both by Prada, Apophis cuff by Saint Laurent.

Last night, a true football thriller took place in Brazil. I watched the game at a friend’s house and couldn’t be more proud of the outcome. A beautifully taken extra-time goal by Mario Götze helped my home country win the 2014 World Cup final 1-0 against Argentina at the Maracanã. With the win, Germany became the first European side to win the World Cup in the Americas and pulled even with Italy for the second-most titles all-time, one behind Brazil’s record five. The team had not lifted the trophy since 1990, when West Germany defeated Argentina in the final.
I flew in from Berlin yesterday afternoon where I got myself the perfect outfit. Check out Wear Your Flag, a fun website with all sorts of items to show your national pride!

My look: Strapless dress by Wear Your Flag, jeggings by Donna Karan, jelewed nappa leather box bag
by Saint Laurent and biker boots by Chanel.

On my nails: I created the flag design with “Need Sunglasses” by OPI, “Valentine Red” and “Tuxedo Black“, both by Bobbi Brown. Start with a layer of yellow and then work your way up with red and black as the last step.
