Yesterday, I arrived in New York City and went immediately to Fashion’s Night Out(FNO), the biggest fashion party of the year.

This very feminine scent (floral-woody-musk) comes in a beautiful purple flacon. It is like a new dose of Parisian romance, like love at first sight.

Yesterday, I came for one night to Zurich to attend the opening of the newNavyboot flagship store on Bahnhofstrasse. The brand’s ambassador Top Formula 1 racing driver Michael Schumacher attended the party as well.
My outfit: Backless waistcoat and culottes by Stella McCartney, lace top by Prada, hand-painted cage sandals by Alexander McQueen, earrings and clutch by Chanel, ring by Dior and watch by Roger Dubuis.
Dolce & Gabbana’s star-sprinkled collection is loved by fashionistas and celebrities all over the world. The must-have print also graces some of the recent September issues. From Spanish Vogue with Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen and Claudia Schiffer in a trio of Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2011 dresses on the cover to American Marie Claire with Anne Hathaway.
This fall, Bulgari will bring back its historic snakehead motif on eight classic, must-have pieces. The green jade Serpenti bag in karung skin was already spotted by Tommy Ton on Giovanna Battaglia during the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris in July (see above).

The Mediterranean Eden collection is a series of handbags, clutches, and wallets that incorporates a distinctive clasp in the form of a snake’s head with malachite eyes.

No, this is not the newest Tom Ford advertising campaign. It is part of the amazing pictures taken by Mario Testino during the recent wedding of Kate Moss with rocker Jamie Hince for the September issue of American Vogue. The newly weds channel a modern-day Mick and Bianca Jagger, re-creating the couple’s 1971 backseat wedding portrait by royal photographer Lord Lichfield On Kate: Tom Ford velvet-and-fur coat. On Hince: Tom Ford red velvet jacket.
Kate Moss graces also the cover of the fashion bible. Mario Testino captured the famous party guests plus the beautiful decorations and details so wonderfully that I wanted to share these with you. What a great inspiration for your own big day, don’t you think?

I have just heard the terrible news that Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her home in London this afternoon by emergency services. Her death is being treated as „unexplained“ by police but an overdose is considered the most likely cause, although a full autopsy will have to be performed. Winehouse has had a troubled life which has included various stints in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.
We will miss her fantastic voice and her eclectic style of her golden days. Inspired by the chic of the `60s, Amy’s enormous beehive hairdo even inspired Karl Lagerfeld to send his models down the catwalk sporting the same hairstyle for his Chanel show three years ago.
“She is a beautiful, gifted artist. And I very much like her hairdo. I took it as an inspiration. Because, in fact, it was also Brigitte Bardot’s hairdo in the late Fifties and Sixties. And now Amy has made it her own style. So, when I saw her, I knew it was the right moment. Amy… she is the new Brigitte.”

Amy’s heavy black eyeliner was her signature and she loved `60s-era Capri pants with short-sleeved fitted shirts and little puffball skirted mini dresses.
She was 27. Coincidentally, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix were all also 27 when they died. It is so sad to see such a talented person throwing all her gifts away.
