The Moschino F/W 2023 Show

For F/W 2023, Jeremy Scott does pop-punk the MOSCHINO way. With a nod to Salvador Dalí’s famous painting «The Persistence of Memory», Scott’s hems and shoes looked a little like the famous Melting Clocks.

The show started with a series of beautiful separates with «melted hemlines». Every model completed the look with a towering, spikey mohawk hairdo. I loved the aristo-punk vibe of the collection, featuring large crystal gems and even larger metal spikes as motifs.

Stunning dresses, mostly embellished, will make the heart of every punk princess leap with joy. One of my favorite looks was a soft lavender petticoat tulle gown with matching opera gloves covered in a flashy array of gems.

In general, the Italian Maison’s collections are often characterized by a huge sense of playfulness. This collection seems more «wearable» with lots of great evening options. I love it!

The Sir Paul Smith Suite at Brown’s Hotel

Fashion designer Paul Smith and my favorite place to stay in London, the Brown’s Hotel, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Mayfair, joined forces and unveiled the Sir Paul Smith Suite.
Designed by Paul himself in collaboration with Olga Polizzi, Director of Design at Rocco Forte Hotels, the new suite features a range of custom and vintage furniture, hand-picked artworks, brand collaborations and soft furnishings from the debut Paul Smith home collection.

Drawing on Brown’s Hotel’s history as a favoured residence for literary greats, the suite is designed as a space not only for rest and relaxation, but to spark inspiration and creativity through art and interesting objects, with every detail of the room, from the rugs to the individual art works carefully considered.

The suite features furniture and art that resonates with the designer and his eclectic taste. Several pieces can be found in Paul’s office at his Covent Garden HQ, such as Christopher Simon Sykes’ impressive photograph of Chatsworth House library and, notably, his 1970s leather desk chair by Mario Bellini. As another personal touch, Paul has also selected a small library of art and design books for the room.

Paul Smith says: «Being asked to design a space for such an iconic Mayfair institution is a great privilege – and I’ve had a great deal of fun in the process! Just like Browns does with its rooms, we design every Paul Smith shop differently to celebrate the area’s individuality, which is just one of the reasons the project appealed to me. On a more personal level, I’m so pleased we’ve been able to include objects that inspire me personally and I hope, in turn, they’ll inspire the suite’s guests

Several of Paul Smith’s notable collaborations feature heavily in the room, including sofas, tables and leather goods from his recent ‘Everyday Life’ collection with Italian luxury furniture company DePadova; Type 75 lamps from the longstanding partnership with British lighting brand Anglepoise; and checked wool blankets designed by Paul for design company Maharam.

The partnership came about naturally, through Rocco Forte Hotels’ Director of Design Olga Polizzi, who is responsible for the design of each of the individual rooms at Brown’s Hotel and is a long-time visitor to Paul Smith’s Albemarle Street shop.

Further references to the Albemarle Street flagship shop, which is located just metres away from the hotel, are dotted about the room. They include custom Paul Smith + The Rug Company rugs and a Maharam headboard, both of which feature a geometric pattern inspired by the building’s iconic iron façade.

Uniquely quirky details, such as the banana door handles, the fire ‘dogs’ (which have been custom made to resemble Homer, Paul’s first canine shopkeeper), a robot figurine made from a vintage camera, and the striped fireplace tiles, are abundant in the room, a reflection of Paul’s ‘classic with a twist’ philosophy and his trademark whimsical sense of humour.

The Paul Smith Suite starts at £5,500, to book, please click here for more information.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan – Inspired by Fashion

The House of Rolls-Royce reveals «Cullinan – Inspired by Fashion», comprised of two prêt-à-porter collections– the bold Re‑Belle and striking Fu-Shion. These exquisite «objects of desire» by the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective take inspiration from vibrant hues and textures seen in the world of high fashion, reflecting the eclectic tastes and lifestyle of the luxury clientele, like works of art in their own right.

«Cullinan – Inspired by Fashion» brings out the multifarious character of the luxury SUV and its Black Badge alter ego.  To offer a glimpse into infinite Bespoke possibilities, the designers created eight distinctive personalities. Each collection includes two interior colourways defined by iconic accent colours: Lime Green or Peony Pink for Re-Belle and Mandarin or Forge Yellow for Fu‑Shion. Each interior style can be paired with one of two carefully selected exterior looks – either eye-catching or more discrete and understated.

«Cullinan – Inspired by Fashion» Re-Belle is the ultimate statement piece, reflecting contemporary colour blocking trends with its vivid hues and playful combination of textures. A splash of colour in the interior with Peony Pink or Lime Green accents provides an irresistible contrast to the Arctic White or Cashmere Grey leather trim. The fascia is finished with extraordinarily detailed handwoven stainless-steel fabric, evocative of metallic apparel seen on this year’s catwalks. Delicate thread with a diameter as fine as 0.45 mm creates an intricate texture, which catches the light beautifully as the vehicle is in motion. «Cullinan – Inspired by Fashion» Re-Belle is offered in Lime Green, Gunmetal, Wildberry or Arctic White exterior colours, available depending on the selected interior.

Unleashing the daring Black Badge personality, «Cullinan – Inspired by Fashion» Fu-Shion reinterprets high fashion with a utilitarian edge. Reminiscent of the S/S 2023 prêt‑à-porter collections, embellished with functional elements evocative of street wear, Fu‑Shion showcases Cullinan’s personality – the pinnacle of luxury, effortless everywhere. For Fu-Shion, designers created two interior styles: an eye-catching combination of Military Green, Navy Blue and Mandarin or a blend of Arctic White and Cashmere Grey leather with Forge Yellow accents. Depending on the interior palette, «Cullinan – Inspired by Fashion» Fu-Shion can be commissioned in one of four exterior colours: Military Green, Burnout Grey, Forge Yellow or Tempest Grey.

For «Cullinan – Inspired by Fashion», designers created the all-new Starlight Tailgate – a stunning feature which extends the magical, celestial ambience of the Starlight Headliner beyond the interior of the motor car. This Bespoke feature, which takes over 22 hours to manufacture, includes 192 softly illuminated stars incorporated into the perforated leather. The Starlight Tailgate is complemented by the Viewing Suite, creating a perfect setting to enjoy the enchanting beauty of a starry night, anywhere and everywhere.

A further innovation is to be found on the lower part of the fascia, which introduces a coloured Piano veneer for the first time: Cashmere Grey for Re‑Belle and Navy Blue for Fu-Shion. This glossy finish acts as a unifying element, bringing yet more depth to the interior.

For travel in ultimate style, «Cullinan – Inspired by Fashion» is available with matching luggage sets, designed to complement each of the four interior themes. The collection comprises of the 24hr Weekender, 48hr Weekender, Holdall, Tote Bag and Organiser Pouch, offered individually or as a five-piece set.

I am so in love …

Miu Miu Matelassé

Miu Miu celebrates its iconic matelassé leather collection for the new season with an intimate portraiture captured by Guen Fiore and a series of still life images by Deo Suveera showcasing the bags as protagonists. Merging a sense of protection with power the focus is on individuality and imagination as enriched by the respect for innovation and the finest craftsmanship that this product represents.

The timeless beauty of matelassé leather is reinvented both in terms of size and design. A matelassé treatment appears across all bags in a quietly neutral colour palette that is a perfect mirror to the understated and unconventional vision of luxury that the Miu Miu name evokes.

Shown for the first time on the Miu Miu runway in Paris for the F/W 2006 season, elaborately worked matelassé leather is by now so central to the brand’s handwriting that it barely needs a logo to be recognised. Combining sophisticated artistry and artisanal technique with experimentation, the highly distinctive, rich texture of the leather is the ultimate marriage between beauty and practicality.

Matalassé leather’s unique and eased finish is, in fact, achieved by a paradoxically rigorous process that entails pairing panels of elegant nappa leather with wadding and elastic cloth to achieve stretch. Such malleability effortlessly adapts to any contents, just as it does to the form of the person carrying it. Nestling close to the body, a plump surface is as comfortable as it is aesthetically appealing.

Available in Miu Miu stores and on www.miumiu.com.

Prada Moon Bag

For S/S 2023, the new Prada Moon bag revisits an iconic model of the 2000s in a modern, conceptual compendium of the brand’s distinctive features from its inestimable archive, bearing witness to Prada’s past, present, and future.

The Moon takes inspiration from multiple, apparently distant worlds, with a versatile yet coherent design that brings together the brand’s signature style, technical expertise honed over many decades and a one-hundred percent contemporary attitude.

Its personality is defined by the details: the large metal buckle in the center – a feature of the model since its first appearance in the S/S 2002 collection – takes on an emblematic character thanks to the enamelled metal triangle logo. Another of the brand’s favourite motifs, the grommet, borrowed from the sailing world, has a structural role, as well as providing a unique and idiosyncratic detail, presented in a metal version with a silver finish.

The unmistakeable nappa leather receives a fresh interpretation: a special treatment gives it a slightly padded appearance that accentuates its lightness.

With a curved silhouette and bold, decisive form, the Prada Moon is available in perfectly monochrome versions including blue, yellow, pink, and green.

It is enhanced by the handles, strap, and stylish removable keyring in matching colours. The compact and harmonious design makes it an eclectic essential – a new Prada classic. The Moon bag is now available at Prada stores worldwide and via prada.com.
