A Proud Parent’s Letter to the World

A Proud Parent’s Letter to the World
She Did It – A Master’s Degree from Northeastern
Bouvé College of Health Sciences · Boston, Massachusetts

There are moments in a parent’s life that stop time. Not dramatically, no fanfare, no slow motion, just a quiet, overwhelming wave of pride that rises from somewhere deep and settles over everything. This week, I had one of those moments. More than once, actually.

My daughter has earned her Master’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston. And if you’ve never had the privilege of witnessing a Northeastern graduation ceremony, let me tell you: it is something else entirely. Northeastern doesn’t just hand you a diploma. They celebrate you, with performances, powerful speeches, and a sense of ceremony that makes the whole thing feel genuinely historic.

Tuesday: The Moment Her Name Was Called
The college-specific ceremony at Bouvé was held outside by the water. The sky was blue and clear, beautiful, if brutally cold. We sat bundled up, scanning the rows of graduates, waiting. And then it happened: her name, read aloud, ringing out across the crowd. She walked up, accepted her diploma, and that was it. Everything all those years of work had been building toward, right there in thirty seconds of pure joy. I won’t pretend I kept it together.

There’s something uniquely powerful about the smaller college ceremony. It’s intimate. Personal. Every single graduate is called by name, acknowledged as an individual, not just one face in a sea of thousands.

Wednesday: Fenway Park and a Storm That Didn’t Stop Anyone
The big ceremony, the full university convocation, was held the following day at Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. All Master’s students, all doctoral candidates, the entire Northeastern family gathered in one iconic stadium.
It rained. Of course it rained, because apparently this is now our tradition. At her undergraduate graduation, we also sat in the cold and the wet and laughed through it.

Wednesday was no different. The clouds rolled in, the temperature dropped, and not a single person left. Nobody even flinched. A stadium full of graduates, families, faculty – all of them choosing to be exactly where they were, rain and all. There’s something quietly magnificent about that.

«Whatever you envision, remember the three lessons you taught me. Luck is a skill. Imagination beats computation and humanity is your superpower.» – Joseph E. Aoun, President of Northeastern University

The performances were exceptional. The speeches were sharp, funny, and genuinely moving. The energy inside Fenway gave the whole event a gravitas that a conventional auditorium simply cannot manufacture.

What It Means
Studying in the United States, earning an American university degree, it demands so much more than academic ability. It demands courage, adaptability, resilience. A different language, a different culture, an ocean between you and home. She navigated all of it and came out the other side holding a Master’s diploma from one of the country’s most respected institutions.

I am incredibly proud. Not just of the degree, but of the person she has become through the pursuit of it. Whatever comes next, this is a foundation she will carry forever. And I cannot wait to see where she goes.

Congratulations, to my daughter, the Master. May every chapter ahead be as bold as this one.
Written with love, pride, and slightly frozen fingers somewhere outside Fenway.

My Look: Family Time

Family Time 🤍… some things are just universal. A day in Boston with my daughter Anouk, my favorite kind of time. We ended it with Peking duck at JIANG NAN – Chinese Fusion, simple and perfect.

Wearing Alice + Olivia – I love how the brand creates pieces that feel playful, bold, exactly my style and with a fit that feels made for me.

And every time I watch the stories of Stacey Bendet, I can’t help but smile, the way her daughter Scarlet captures her, the little comments, that mother-daughter rhythm… it feels so familiar. Alice + Olivia was founded in 2002, the same year Anouk was born. A full circle moment.

My look: Bradley stretch cotton equestrian cardigan, and gorgeous corduroy jumpsuit, both by Alice + Olivia, Paris metallic leather ankle boots and Monogram fringed shoulder bag, both by Saint Laurent, cat-eye sunglasses by Gucci, and crystal-embellished clip-on earrings in gold by Alessandra Rich.

My Look: Wind & Boston

Snow, sun, rain, the past days in Boston had it all. The only constant: relentless wind. Hair everywhere, nothing in place… and yet, the look held its own.

And somehow, it feels fitting. Boston is often considered the windiest city in the U.S. (despite what many think). Chicago may be called The Windy City, but the nickname actually comes from its famously «windy» politicians, not the weather.

My look: Cropped cotton tweed jacket in blue, matching belted tweed mini dress, and Kat platform boots, all by GANNI, crystal-embellished earrings by Self-Portrait, butterfly sunglasses with grey pearl chain, and mini rectangle flap bag in pearly lambskin with black-tone metal, both by CHANEL.

Happy Easter Weekend from Boston

Wishing you a beautiful Easter weekend from Boston. I’m in full 2-in-1 mode, quietly preparing for my daughter’s birthday as she turns 24 tomorrow. Time really does fly.

Last night, I slipped into one of those perfect Boston evenings with friends, ending up at My Girl, a hidden speakeasy-style gem with live music and an atmosphere that feels both intimate and electric. Effortless, a little decadent, and exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble upon but rarely do.

The interior design is really beautiful. Inspired by the warmth and ease of old Havana, the space balances elegance with intimacy, textured woods, soft light, and a rhythm that lingers long after the glass is empty. Each drink and detail is considered, each moment meant to be felt.

A truly special night and a spot I can only recommend.

La Petite Maison Arrives in Marbella and Boston

La Petite Maison arrives on Marbella’s Golden Mile with a new beachfront outpost at Puente Romano Marbella, bringing its unmistakable Riviera spirit to the Costa del Sol.

There are places that feel instantly familiar, no matter where in the world you encounter them. For me, La Petite Maison has always been one of them, whether in Cannes, where it has long been a favorite, or in moments that carry a more personal resonance. Hosting my wedding welcome dinner here in Marbella at the Puente Romano many years ago made it more than just a place; it became part of a memory I return to often, before the celebrations continued at the Marbella Club Hotel.

The new seaside setting feels like a natural extension of the house’s philosophy: light-filled, effortless, and quietly refined. Under the direction of chef Yiannis Kioroglou, the menu remains true to its essence, ingredient-led, generous, and unmistakably Mediterranean. Signature dishes, from delicate yellowtail carpaccio to the iconic sea bass «à la Nicole,» speak in the same clear, elegant language that defines the brand.

From long, sunlit lunches to evenings that unfold into something more vibrant, the rhythm of the day is seamless, guided by music, atmosphere, and that particular art de vivre La Petite Maison embodies so well.

A new address, perhaps, but one that, for me, feels deeply, beautifully familiar.

And, as I’m writing this from Boston, it feels especially fitting that La Petite Maison is also set to open here in summer 2026 at Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street in Back Bay, its first address in the Northeast, bringing a touch of the Riviera to the city.

My Look: Massachusetts Avenue

Massachusetts Avenue was photographed at a train stop in a Bostonian neighborhood that isn’t known for being safe or beautiful in a conventional way. It’s rough, tense, and unsettling, and exactly that contrast is what drew me in. I combined different vintage pieces with more recent ones, letting time layers collide. The mix of black and pink reflects this tension: darkness and vulnerability, danger and softness existing side by side. This post isn’t about romanticizing the place, but about capturing the uneasy beauty that can appear where you least expect it.

My look: Reversible hot pink fake fur vest, wool hat in black and pink with ties, and long sleeve logo shirt, (all from Coco Neige 2023/24 collection) and shearling bag (from F/W 2014 supermarket collection), all by CHANEL, checked mini skirt (S/S 1998) by D&G, and platform fake fur boots by Prada Sport.

My Look: Brown Is The New Black

They say black never goes out of style, but this F/W 2025 season, brown is redefining elegance. In Boston, I embraced a head-to-toe brown look that feels effortlessly chic, warm, and sophisticated. To break the monotony and add a playful twist, I styled it with a vibrant Christian Louboutin bag, the perfect pop of color that turns the entire outfit into a true statement. Sometimes, it only takes one bold accessory to elevate a monochrome look from classic to unforgettable.

My look: Cable-knit wool and cashmere puffer jacket, and cotton midi dress, both by Polo Ralph Lauren, Torchon gold-tone crystal clip earringsicon by Alessandra Rich, Frankie 85 snake-effect leather ankle bootsicon by Jimmy Choo, and Breizcaba embellished embroidered felt and leather-trimmed canvas toteicon by Christian Louboutin.

My Look: Reflecting Pool

There are fashion pieces that come and go and then there are icons that define a whole era. The Chloé Paddington bag was the moment of the early 2000s, and I still have my original. Now that it has been reissued, I couldn’t resist bringing it back into the spotlight. For this shoot, I paired it with a sharp denim look and set it against the Reflecting Pool in Boston, a place where the city’s energy slows down for just a moment. Boston isn’t the obvious fashion capital, but that’s what makes it interesting: a city built on history, reinventing itself in the present, just like this bag. It’s fashion meeting travel, nostalgia meeting now and I love standing right at that intersection.

My look: Cropped denim jacketicon, high-rise flared jeansicon, and stretch-corded lace bodysuiticon, all by Zimmermann, Frankie 85 snake-effect leather ankle bootsicon by Jimmy Choo, Paddington leather shoulder bagicon, shearling and gold-tone charmicon, logo necklace, Chloé iconic belt, and Carlina round-frame gold-plated sunglassesicon, all by Chloé.

My Look: One More Night in Boston

My flight to Zurich is canceled tonight, so I get to enjoy one more evening in Boston. Against the city’s skyline in the golden sun, I’m wearing a seductive yet cool look: denim with lace cut-outs at the legs, paired with a matching lace top. A clutch with New York’s skyline adds a playful twist across borders.

Fashion always comes full circle, and brands from the ’90s and 2000s, think Blumarine, are experiencing a powerful revival. Today, I’m celebrating that spirit in my own way.

My Look: Floral Chantilly lace top, and lace-trimmed low-rise wide-leg jeans, both by Blumarine, Carmella NYC Skyline beaded clutch by Staud, embellished leather necklace by Alessandra Rich, sunglasses by CHANEL, and Jodie suede platform sandalsicon by Saint Laurent.

F1 Arcade in Boston

F1 Arcade has arrived in the USA with Boston being the first spot to experience all the excitement, drama, and glamour of Formula 1 and Washington D.C later in the year. In Europe, you can find the experience in London and Birmingham.

However, if you find yourself hoping over the pond, I recommend visiting the US venue in the Boston Seaport district. F1 Arcade is a thrilling new simulation racing experience, and probably the only place in the world where you can get drunk driving. Not that I recommend this, but here you can bar, dine and race at once.

Featuring full-motion racing simulators, typical American food and a selection of enticing drinks, this is truly unrivaled social gaming. Racing is thirsty work. You can grab a much-needed pit stop at the really cool cocktail bar, that is featuring an impressive list of vintage Champagne cocktails. So, Anouk and I decided not to wait any longer and assemble our pit crew, grab a cocktail, and take the wheel of an F1 simulator for an electrifying experience we’ll never forget.

To book your racing experience, click here please.
