I love coming back from my travels to some nice surprises. This week, two arrivals have truly made me very happy.

When Prada unveiled its gourmand caramel scent named CANDY in 2011, I have become immediately a huge fan. Therefore I was over the moon about the house’s newest flanker version that has arrived on my doorstep this week: PRADA CANDY L’EAU. Like the original, the new version is also signed by perfumer Daniela Andrier. Seductive and playful in one, the new fragrance  is modified with notes of citruses and flowers.

ORIENTAL VANILLA
Top notes: Italian citruses
Middle notes: Sweet pea
Base notes: Benzoin, white musk and caramel (The Prada Candy trilogy).

Those printed satin sandals by Dolce & Gabbana arrived in my closet this week and it was a true pleasure opening the package. Not only the shoes are beautiful, but also their box and vibrant dust bag. The colors set the mood for a hot, golden summer – I am loving it!

Monday, I attended during Paris Fashion Week the Roger Vivier Cocktail to celebrate the launch of the book ‘Roger Vivier’, held at the boutique on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The tome will be available from April 2nd in the Roger Vivier boutiques and in fine bookstores.

Among the guests was Inès de la Fressange (see photo with me above), a French model, aristocat, designer of fashion and perfumes, and former muse for Karl Lagerfeld (Inès walked in the Chanel S/S 2011 runway show at the age of 54.). She has a very cute section on the Roger Vivier homepage, called “Ines’ Little Diaries”. Personally speaking, she looked absolutely stunning and was very lovely to talk to.

Inès de la Fressange and Bruno Frisoni

Today, designer Bruno Frisoni is at the helm of Roger Vivier. He’s one of the most charming designers in fashion and his witty humor can be seen perfectly in the picture I took of him at the event. He knows well how to design shoes in which ladies feel elegant.

Roger Vivier himself (1907–1998) was a French fashion designer who specialized in shoes and became famous for his stiletto heel. He was called the “Fragonard of the shoe” and many critics compared his creations to Fabergé. He designed the footwear for Queen Elizabeth II that she wore to her coronation in 1953 and the famous “buckle” shoes, Catherine Deneuve sported in the iconic French movie “Belle de Jour”, together with Yves Saint Laurent clothing.

Since last season, the slipper shoe has been on every fashionista’s style radar and there is no end in sight. Prada has just launched a stunning capsule collection that is screaming “BUY ME”. The new Prada slippers feature a range of distinctive details and novel combinations.

The classic form with leather sole is developed in multiple variations, each with a powerful identity. Here are five proposals:

Slipper in iridescent velvet with embroidery in satin thread.

Slipper in three-color sequins. The embroidery recalls iconic Prada flowers and lozenges.

Slipper in brushed leather with metal studs and hand stitched paillettes.

Behind the eight door of our Advent calendar, I have some pieces that would all work as the perfect conversation starter at a festive drinks party or dinner. Charlotte Olympia‘s playful aesthetic has won the hearts of the style set, and her fabulous ‘Holiday’ collection is no exception.
