Versace Printed Silk Shirts for Women

Versace Silk Shirts

Vintage Versace printed silk shirts are hotter than ever. The colorful and bold Versace staple is being discovered and sought out by a new generation of pops stars, such as Lady Gaga, and style hipsters. The trend was also evoked in many runway collections these past few seasons as seen at Dolce & Gabbana and Céline among others. In celebration of this renewed appreciation, Versace has re-issued a limited number of classic printed silk shirts. No one can do Versace better than Versace.

Versace re-issued three different women’s styles, which are available now in all Versace boutiques worldwide as well as selected department stores and special boutiques/e-commerce sites for CHF 1100 each. You can shop the silk shirts by clicking here.

Stars Wearing Stars

Dolce Stars wearing stars

Dolce & Gabbana’s star-sprinkled collection is loved by fashionistas and celebrities all over the world. The must-have print also graces some of the recent September issues. From Spanish Vogue with Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen and Claudia Schiffer in a trio of Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2011 dresses on the cover to American Marie Claire with Anne Hathaway.

My favourites are the printed star dress with lace inserts and the matching star pumps. The sequined star clutch and wallet work well with every outfit.
Happy Shopping!

Trend Alert F/W 2011: Buttoned-up Collars

New Boy2

This winter, there is only one way to wear your crisp white shirt: buttoned-up to the very top. The wheel of fashion is always turning. On the runways, there were lots of masculine references, the season is all about the suits. Designers are paying tribute to the working girls and to keep things demure, no more cleavage is shown. But no worries, combined with a cool pair of shorts, the look is more about sophisticated minimalism instead of looking all prude.
My favourites are the shirts with embellished collars (Miu Miu and Christopher Kane) that are now in stores.

Enjoy experimenting!

Here we go: Party N°2!

I didn’t even have time to change after Matthew’s tropical night as I was running off to the next amazing event on Thursday night in London:
Net-à-Porter and Mr Porter celebrated the arrival of Dolce & Gabbana with a very intimate party “at home”.

It was literally a night of the stars (photo to the left: Queen Latifah with me), an A-list event with so many celebrities joining the fun and fashionistas wearing Dolce & Gabbana’s star-sprinkled F/W 2011 pieces.
Enjoy all the pics and comments from that memorable night!

Dolce & Gabbana collections are now available on Net-à-Porter and Mr Porter.

Saturday’s Outfit: Dirndl Time

Lech

Here is my outfit that I wore to the second wedding celebration on Saturday. The party took place in Lech, Austria and the dress code was dirndl. For my foreign reader: This is a type of traditional dress worn in Bavaria, Austria and other Alpine areas. What might seem to you more like a historical costume, is pretty normal for us and it is definitely a look that suits every woman.

I wanted to go for a not so traditional outfit and have been collecting designer pieces over many years. Here is the outcome:

Checked Dress with Black Silk Lining, Shoes, Blouse, Choker and Hat by Dolce & Gabbana, Apron by Prada, Embroidered Bag by Valentino, Earrings, Ring, Badges and Gamsbart by Gucci, Watch by Roger Dubuis.

What a fun party!

Art, Handbags and Obsession

Bruce Conner

KUNSTHALLE ZÜRICH IM MUSEUM BÄRENGASSE
BRUCE CONNER
2. APRIL – 29. MAI 2011

Bruce Conner (1933 – 2008) was an American artist renowned for his work in assemblage, film, drawing, sculpture, painting, collage, and photography, among other disciplines.

Conner first attracted widespread attention with his moody, nylon-shrouded assemblages, complex amalgams of found objects such as women’s stockings, bicycle wheels, broken dolls, fur, fringe, costume jewelry, and candles, often combined with collaged or painted surfaces.

He also began making short movies in the late 1950s. Conner’s first and possibly most famous film was entitled A MOVIE (1958). He is said to be the pioneer for today’s MTV’s music clips.

One lady blended in perfectly.
I’ m wondering if Dolce & Gabbana seeked inspiration from Conner’s works Untitled (1976) and Untitled (1973) for their leo cardigan…

Yesterday, I went to a ladies art luncheon to the the exhibition above. It was truly remarkable to see all those beautiful handbags the guests were carrying. You might have figured this out already, but I am a handbag addict and obviously I am not alone.

Hermès and Chanel models were spotted most, followed by Fendi’s Peekaboos. Enjoy the photos I took and stay tuned for tomorrow’s post that has a lot do with a woman’s obsession for handbags.

S/S 2011: Wild Kingdom

The ubiquitous zoo trend continues. From monkeys at Prada to tigers at Louis Vuitton to full-on leopard prints at Blumarine, Giambattista Valli and Dolce & Gabbana, this season’s runways resembled an episode of Wild Kingdom.

My absolute favourites are Louis Vuitton’s giraffe heels. Those sandals are pieces of art and will definitely find their way through the fashion jungle into my closet. So stay tuned for the sequel.

The Crochet Wish List

Aside from the fringe that is coming back in full force (stay tuned for a complete trend report), crochet and macrame were big on the S/S 2011 runways. High-fashion designers were focusing on the delicate and intricate look with a certain `70s allure and even included the accessories.

Absolutely gorgeous is Stella McCartney’s “Falabella” crocheted tote from the Resort 2011 collection. This ultra-soft bag with its retro-inspired spin is the perfect summer carry-all, providing you with space and style!

Stella2I bought this treasured It-piece reminiscent of an Ibiza holiday gone glam at Salvatore Schito in Zurich who sell a large variety of Stella McCartney pieces. For further information please click here.
