Trend Report S/S 2012: Red & Nude

S 2012 RedNUde

Red is a must next summer and in combination with nude and beige just irresistible
Clare Waight Keller, who has replaced Chloé‘s Hannah MacGibbon, shows for her debut collection this colour combination in perfection.

If you are in the mood for shopping, have a look at this stunning outfit below, perfect for the cold temperatures now.

Red & Nude

I personally absolutely adore the colour combination of red and nude, so French and so chic!

This rosette-embellished silk top iconby Lanvin will be a great addition to your wardrobe. It works best partnered with a simple pencil skirt or this trendy pleated leather skirt by Marc Jacobs. Stay warm during winter time with a cozy cardigan by Missoni and the gorgeous red flared wool princess coat by Issa. Add a classic bag such as the nude vitello bow-embellished leather tote by Miu Miu and some killer heels like thestudded open toe sandals by Valentino and you will me make heads turn.

Bottega Veneta S/S 2012 Ad Campaign

BVSS12_WSP1_LR

Here is a preview of Bottega Veneta‘s S/S 2012 ad campaign shot by artist and photographer Jack Pierson, featuring model Karmen Pedaru.

ABOUT JACK PIERSON
Jack Pierson is a celebrated contemporary artist known for work that ranges across many media, including photography, collage, drawing, painting, and installations. This diversity makes it difficult to categorize Pierson’s art, though virtually everything he makes evinces a compelling combination of emotional vulnerability and formal sophistication. Pierson’s photographs often read like a diary, combining elements of nostalgia, loneliness, the romantic ideal, and a search for beauty.
The artist, who splits his time between New York and Southern California, has had numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group shows around the world. His work is included in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Guggenheim in New York, among other prestigious institutions.

“I’ve admired Jack’s work for many years, especially his ability to create images that are at once precise and spontaneous.” Bottega Veneta’s Creative Director Tomas Maier explained in a release “I’m very happy with the result. Jack’s images capture the complexity as well as the joy of the collection.”

Pug Dogs for Happy Kids

Pug Dogs for Happy Kids

Let me introduce you to LUISAVIAROMA.COM‘s charity project “PUG DOGS FOR HAPPY KIDS” an exclusive one of a kind edition of 20 pug dogs, produced by Steiff, the German leader in the production of handmade plush toys & collectables.
Each piece is customized by a selection of the most prominent international fashion designers.

All proceeds generated from the sales will be donated to UNICEF to support disadvantaged children.

Pug Dogs 2

For the 4th Edition of Firenze4Ever Luisa Via Roma has asked each fashion blogger to “Adopt a Pug” for UNICEF. It was pretty tough to decide which one to take as designers such as Balmain, Emilio Pucci, Giambattista Valli, Mary Katrantzou & many more have come up with some pretty amazing pieces.

Pug Dogs -1

Curious which one I have chosen? Let me tell you that much: I was fighting with Bryan Boy over the Mary Katrantzou one and he was winning, haha. So I went for another one that I have truly fallen in love with. Stay tuned for the upcoming unique photo shoot with my little puppy.

Dinner at the Church

IMG_6628

Luisa Via Roma’s Firenze4Ever is just amazing. After having been invited for the third time, it feels like visiting old friends. Last night we had dinner at the church Chiesa di Santo Stefano al Ponte which is deconsecrated to make something like this possible. What an atmosphere! A gigantic festive table was waiting with thousands of candles lightening the inside of the church. Please enjoy my photos of last night and all those familiar faces!

Sliding Dior

Here is an idea what you could also do with Dior’s smoky palettes. Those eyeshadow trios work great for the perfect smoky eyes look. Each palette contains a base plus a toning matte and iridescent shade. The rich colour pigments stay on very well.

Smoky Black, Smoky Blue, Smoky Nude, Smoky Pink, Smoky Brown, Smoky Garden and Smoky Violet (last two available soon), each CHF 68.

The colour range of lovely pink and peachy tones works perfectly for day and night. This collection includes everything you need to look all radiant, glowing and ready for spring. Peter Philips, Chanel’s Creative Director for make-up, got inspiried by springtime skies.

I was so lucky to try the products before they officially hit the markets. Starting today in most European countries, my Swiss readers have to be more patient. Unfortunately, it won’t be available until the end of the month. So enjoy my photos to get all excited.
Isn’t anticipation the greatest joy?

Greetings from Florence

IMG_6477

Greetings from Florence! This is my wonderful view from my penthouse suite at my beloved J.K. Place hotel (Thank you for the upgrade by the way!). What looks so lovely today, looked quite different last night:

IMG_6445

Yesterday, I had the worst day of travelling. I arrived at the Zurich airport around 11am for my flight to Florence which was supposed to leave around 12.50pm. Due to the terrible stormy weather conditions, my flight among many others got cancelled. When I finally flew around 7pm, I was asking myself the whole plane ride if I was insane to board this aircraft. We hit the remnants of the storm over the alps, bumpy would be a very soft word to describe what happened. I literally had the feeling that the plane would break in half and people were sitting in the emergency landing position!
After the landing, the female pilot thanked us for having stayed with her. Questions is where could we have gone?!

I would have loved to show you the first party pictures from Firenze4Ever – 4th edition but unfortunately the party was over upon my very late arrival in Florence. So I ordered a very yummy room service and stayed in.
