My Look: Street Parade 2024

Last weekend, nearly a million techno music fans came to Zurich for the 31st Street Parade. The world’s largest techno party always takes place on the second Saturday in August. More than 200 DJs took part in the festivities, letting the electronic and techno music fans dance around Zurich’s lake basin. In the evening, the event continues in the city’s clubs. The sun was shining and I enjoyed a fun time at the Baur au Lac hotel, my favorite place to be during the festivities. It is a great way to have a front row seat at the iconic music parade while enjoying the serenity and space of the hotel’s beautiful park.

My Look: Loubishow

For the Loubishow, that took place during Paris Fashion Week, I stepped into the spotlight with these amazing fringed overknee boots. Commanding attention with every step, they make a bold statement. With so many western style boots on display for the new season, I couldn’t have chosen a better pair to wear that night.

My Look: Timelapse

Sometimes I feel that I am living a life in timelapse. This morning, I had to wake up very early to catch the first flight out of Heathrow and I had to remind me where I am when I woke up. Last week I was in Paris, next week I am in Athens. I love traveling so much. However, I have a feeling time just flies when you are so busy.

These photos were taken in Paris before I went on the Orient- Express, where I wore this outfit for dinner. I love the little timelapse reference of the video cassette bag.

My look: Convertible embellished cashmere and cotton-blend cardigan by Areaicon, dropped waist ruffle tulle logo graphic skirt (Look 1 F/W 2021), and VHS video tape reverse monogram clutch bag (Look 1 S/S 2020), both by Louis Vuitton, Double Bow crystal-embellished glittered leather point-toe pumpsicon by Mach & Mach, embellished silver-tone belt, and silver-tone, crystal and faux pearl clip earrings by Alessandra Richicon, and Neughman pilot sunglasses by Tom Ford.

Tutti Frutti

Fruits have been a source of inspiration for all sort of prints the past seasons. However, this summer, they take it up a notch and are worn in a 3D optic. AREA, the American luxury brand founded by Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Pansczczyk, dedicated their S/S 2023 runway collection to «tutti frutti» and presented sculptural and crystal-embellished pieces from a 3D banana bustier top to a watermelon strapless mini, to a full look that resembles a slice of fresh lemon. The crystal embellishments are arranged to resemble seeds and glisten in the light for a juicy, liquid-like shine.

Another fun way to sport the trend is to wear a bag in the shape of a fruit. Scroll through the best options available now.

AREA x Sergio Rossi

My avid readers know that I am huge AREA fan. Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk launched their brand in 2014 as design students at Parsons after bonding over a mutual love of ’80s glamour and feminine silhouettes. Named after the pioneering New York nightclub of the same name, the label’s irreverent designs and high-octane embellishments have garnered a diverse fanbase that includes Kendall Jenner and Michelle Obama.

Now, they introduce their hotly-anticipated footwear designs in collaboration with Sergio Rossi, which means Italian essence meets New York glamour. Being packed with Y2K tropes, the new AREA x Sergio Rossi capsule collection rewrites the rules and offers a unique take on femininity: more liberated, daring and inclusive than ever before.

The campaign was captured by fashion photographer Collier Schorr, with creative direction by Piotrek Panszczyk, set design by Robert Sumrell, production by High Snobiety and casting by Dan von der Graf and Andrea Prato.

My favorites are the ‘Shibari‘ sandals, a gladiator style that climb up the leg, set on spindly stiletto heels and dusted with sparkling crystals.

Decorate Your Dome

Trend forecasters placed their bets on a return of the Roaring Twenties, but while the flapper dresses have just materialized on the F/W 2022 catwalk, Paco Rabanne, Louis Vuitton, and Maison Margiela did deliver glittering headpieces worthy of Josephine Baker already this summer.

Get ahead of the fashion game and shop one of those beauties that will transform any outfit in seconds into something ultra glam and different. Even a pair of jeans and a white tank will look gorgeous with this Area piece for example below.

My Look: Boston

Here is my first outfit post from Boston, where I am having the best time visiting my daughter who studies here. I am staying at The Newbury Hotel, a beautifully restored and reimagined luxury hotel at the intersection of Newbury and Arlington Streets, where the bustle of the Back Bay is your playground and the idyllic Boston Public Garden your front yard.

In this look, I wear all sorts of cutouts that have recently been revisited and redesigned through the lens of high fashion. I personally love this daring trend as the attention is always yours.

My look: Embellished cutout high-rise straight-leg jeansicon by Area, cutout wool sweater, cutout stretch-knit turtleneck topicon, and Alcove mini leather tote by Valentino, and Fira velvet-trimmed suede and flocked tulle pumps in black by Jimmy Choo.
