The new muse … Founded in New York City by designers Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk in 2014, AREA was named after the pioneering New York nightclub of the same name. As design students at Parsons the two creative minds bonded over a mutual love of ’80s glamour and feminine silhouettes. I feel so inspired by the label’s high-octane embellishments.
My look: Cropped crystal-embellished checked cotton and wool-blend blazer
by AREA, distressed wide embellished paperback jeans by Miu Miu, suede-trimmed crystal-embellished mesh slingback pumps by Gucci, Cloud crystal-embellished suede clutch by Jimmy Choo, Cosette crystal-embellished velvet headband
by Jennifer Behr, large crystal drop choker necklace by Alessandra Rich, and Big Bang All Black Zermatt by Hublot.

Here is my first outfit post from Boston, where I am having the best time visiting my daughter who studies here. I am staying at The Newbury Hotel, a beautifully restored and reimagined luxury hotel at the intersection of Newbury and Arlington Streets, where the bustle of the Back Bay is your playground and the idyllic Boston Public Garden your front yard.
In this look, I wear all sorts of cutouts that have recently been revisited and redesigned through the lens of high fashion. I personally love this daring trend as the attention is always yours.
My look: Embellished cutout high-rise straight-leg jeans
by Area, cutout wool sweater, cutout stretch-knit turtleneck top
, and Alcove mini leather tote by Valentino, and Fira velvet-trimmed suede and flocked tulle pumps in black by Jimmy Choo.

If you’re sorting through which trends are worth investing for winter, then don’t overlook this Instagram-worthy style: cutout sweaters. Preferably oversized, these minimal yet revealing details are a welcome departure from the tight and slinky cutouts of past, making them both stylishly unexpected and actually wearable.
Celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian have been sporting the trend lately, which means cutout knits have staying power in your wardrobe well into the season, even when the weather takes a turn for the cold temperatures. Here are my favorites:

Cutout embellished cashmere and cotton-blend sweater by Area

Oversized cutout ribbed wool sweater
by Valentino

Cutout wool and cashmere-blend and satin sweater
by JW Anderson

Cutout cashmere-blend turtleneck sweater
by Victoria Beckham

Crystal-fringed cutout wool sweater
by Christopher Kane
I went for Valentino and Area and cannot wait to show you how I wear them … stay tuned!
LoL, Sandra
