A Mediterranean Love Story

The Mediterranean love story of Dolce & Gabbana’s LIGHT BLUE fragrances returns with a fascinating new chapter. This time, the two lovers chart a new course, with Italian model Bianca Balti cast as a classic Mediterranean beauty who takes the lead in a game of seduction. She is irresistible to the gorgeous David Gandy.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are extremely proud of Light Blue’s legacy, which includes several fragrance awards. Light Blue was also featured in an exhibition at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York as one of the century’s most groundbreaking scents.

David Gandy celebrates his third Light Blue advertising campaign with this episode.

Light Blue Pour Homme is available as EdT 40ml (€ 49), 75ml (€ 61), 125ml (€ 86), Shower Gel 200ml (€ 28), Deodorant Spray 150ml (€ 28) and Deodorant Stick 75g (€ 28).

The advertising campaign features the glittering sapphire blue waters of Capri and was shot by Mario Testino. This time the imagery has a retro Mediterranean look, with Bianca dressed in a 50s style bikini of high-waisted briefs and a balcony bra, like the seaside fashion of Capri when Elizabeth Taylor and Jacqueline Kennedy holidayed there. The island has always been one of Italy’s most beautiful summer playgrounds and the backdrop to many great love affairs.

I have to admit that when I saw the new Saint Laurent campaign yesterday, I didn’t dare to post it because of April Fools’ Day. But this is no joke! Marilyn Manson, the ’90s rocker, is the new face. Of course, this has nothing to do with the image we have had of the brand so far. Looking closer, Hedi Slimane‘s pick may not be as surprising as it seems.

First, I didn’t like it at all but slowly I am getting used to this high street look in good quality. Recently, I had a conversation with another fashion editor who said “probably he is already one step further ahead of us…” and that made me think. She might be right…

Marc by Marc Jacobs Ad Shot in Zurich

Some exciting news for my Swiss readers: The new Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2013 ad campaign was shot in Zurich-Wollishofen by Jürgen Teller at the Rote Fabrik and the male model is no less than Eli, the son of entrepreneur Carolina Müller-Möhl.

His mum told me the story that I found particularly sweet. Carolina was asked to participate in a charity project for the Kunsthaus Zurich in collaboration with Jürgen Teller. She brought Eli to the shoot. The famous photographer saw his potential and started to take photos of him.

When he showed those to Marc Jacobs, they both agreed that Eli had to be the face of the new campaign. Well deserved – what a success story! I am sure that we will see more of Eli in the near future…
