Prada Frames

After the success of Prada Frames 2022, dedicated to the theme On Forest, the multidisciplinary symposium exploring the complex relationship between design and the environment, curated by Formafantasma, returns to Milan again this year.

The Milan symposium follows the Prada Frames held last March at the M+ museum in Hong Kong. The theme of Prada Frames Milan 2023 is Materials in Flux. Prada chooses to foster a reflection whose ethical and aesthetic implications have been central to the brand’s practice for some time: the potential for original creativity and opportunities for low-impact production opened up by the use of innovative recycled materials. The symposium’s work is based on the research by British anthropologist Tim Ingold, who views materials as interconnected, endlessly changing living entities. It aims to explore the concept of waste, investigate the dynamics that regulate waste infrastructure and their value systems, and analyse the complex relationship between materials and ecosystems.

On 17-19 April, a packed programme of six sessions over three days will bring together scholars and professionals from various fields of research, including Tim Ingold, Elizabeth Povinelli, Beatriz Colomina, Mark Wigley, Sophie Chao, Veena Sahajwalla and Hans Ulrich Obrist.

The event is being held at Teatro Filodrammatici, one of the oldest theatres in Milan, located just a short distance from La Scala and Piazza Duomo. The Accademia dei Filodrammatrici, founded in 1798, established its headquarters there in 1800, transforming the building at the beginning of the last century into the Art Nouveau style whose façade is still preserved today. The interior was redesigned by architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni in the 1960s, including work on the imposing entrance staircase and the mosaic floors, the latter created by sculptor Francesco Somaini.

Admission to Prada Frames Milan is free but with limited availability, subject to registration at prada.com from 6 April.

Prada renews its partnership with Ubisoft, celebrating one year of collaboration, by offering new Prada Linea Rossa activities and gears to Riders Republic® players who once again will be able to discover unique experiences, through:

My Look: Butterfly Effect

It is the butterfly effect! It is the idea that something small, like carrying a stunning bag, such as my new must-have piece by Marina Raphael, can have much larger effects, such as meeting new people, and boosting your aura as you are feeling absolutely fantastic. Depending on the notion that the world is deeply interconnected, such that one small occurrence can influence a much larger complex system, you should never underestimate the power of a great outfit.

My look: White cotton tank top with triangle logoicon, grey embroidered cloth and mesh midi-skirt, logo-plaque leather Mary Jane pumps, and vintage crystal earrings, all by Prada, matelassé denim jacket by CHANEL (Pre-collection F/W 2022), and crystal-embellished Micro Riviera Diamond bag in black suede by Marina Raphael.

My Look: I am Enough

I am enough and I can wear whatever I want. This is an affirmation you should be repeating daily. I have been asked all my life how I am so confident when it comes to choosing my outfit. For me it is like an armor protecting me, reflecting my mood and also a tool to manipulate how people receive you. This might sound bad to you, but I mean it in a positive way. Clothes have so much power, so use them wisely. They can also be a great memory of beautiful times. This look here, photographed on a playground in my hometown Frankfurt, is so reminiscent of the ’90s when I was a young girl and would totally dress up like this. It exudes immediate happiness and makes me feel extremely young again in a very good way.

My look: Cropped top in Alpine Checkicon, matching 90’s skirt with 2 panels and metal decoration in Alpine Checkicon, and Kurt high lace-up boot, all by Celine, open-knit camel hair and silk-blend cardiganicon by Brunello CucinelliCleo crystal-embellished shoulder bag by Prada, and Carter leather beret by Eugenia Kimicon.

My Look: Keep Going!!

Keep going, keep growing! It is a new week full of possibilities, make the best out of them! Put on a great outfit in uplifting shades and never forget, a little progress each day can add up to big results.

My look: Denim and cotton-blend jersey jumpsuiticon by Alaïa, colour-blocked crocheted wool capeicon by Pucci, silk-faille braletteicon, One Stud 100 embellished patent-leather pumpsicon, and VLOGO reversible leather belticon, all by Valentino, creole earrings and rainbow classic flap bag (Cruise 2023), both by CHANEL, and rhinestone-embellished iPhone 13 pro case by Prada.

Prada Drops Tenth Timecapsule NFT

Prada announces the tenth installment of their Timecapsule NFT Collection. The drop on March 2nd, which is the final release in a three-part series of shirts, features special prints by Italian photographer Enzo Ragazzini from his archives of the 1960s’ and 1970s’.

Titled INTERFERENZA OTTICA ART PRINT BY ENZO RAGAZZINI, 1969, the March shirt will feature a design made in 1969 for the Enzo Ragazzini exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London (ICA) with the optical interference technique, using mechanical devices of his own invention (the «rotating plane» for the circular patterns and the «rotating drum» for horizontal ones). This work was then digitized in 2017.

The shirt is in popeline, featuring the Prada enameled triangle logo with «MARCH» transferred on the back of the shirt. Each shirt comes accompanied by its own gifted NFT, which serves as an invitation to join Prada’s exclusive Crypted NFT community.

Prada is continuing to expand their Web3 community to those who purchased a Prada Timecapsule prior to the NFT initiative, launched back in June 2022. First launched in December 2019 and now marking its 39th iteration, Timecapsule collection holders can claim their own Timecapsule NFT, in sync with their existing physical product. More details can be found on the Prada Crypted Community on Discord.

The drop is limited to 50 items, for 24 hours only, starting from March 2nd, 2023 at 3pm CET.

Prada Moon Bag

For S/S 2023, the new Prada Moon bag revisits an iconic model of the 2000s in a modern, conceptual compendium of the brand’s distinctive features from its inestimable archive, bearing witness to Prada’s past, present, and future.

The Moon takes inspiration from multiple, apparently distant worlds, with a versatile yet coherent design that brings together the brand’s signature style, technical expertise honed over many decades and a one-hundred percent contemporary attitude.

Its personality is defined by the details: the large metal buckle in the center – a feature of the model since its first appearance in the S/S 2002 collection – takes on an emblematic character thanks to the enamelled metal triangle logo. Another of the brand’s favourite motifs, the grommet, borrowed from the sailing world, has a structural role, as well as providing a unique and idiosyncratic detail, presented in a metal version with a silver finish.

The unmistakeable nappa leather receives a fresh interpretation: a special treatment gives it a slightly padded appearance that accentuates its lightness.

With a curved silhouette and bold, decisive form, the Prada Moon is available in perfectly monochrome versions including blue, yellow, pink, and green.

It is enhanced by the handles, strap, and stylish removable keyring in matching colours. The compact and harmonious design makes it an eclectic essential – a new Prada classic. The Moon bag is now available at Prada stores worldwide and via prada.com.

Prada announces the ninth installment of their Timecapsule NFT Collection. The drop on February 2nd continues to expand Prada’s reach to the Web3 community, allowing for unique experiences for NFT holders.

The latest NFT drop is #38 in the Timecapsule collection. This is the second, in a three-part series of shirts featuring special prints by Italian photographer Enzo Ragazzini from his archive from the 70s’.

Titled INTERFERENZA OTTICA ART PRINT BY ENZO RAGAZZINI 1975, the February shirt will feature a design made in 1975 from Enzo Ragazzini with the optical interference technique, using mechanical devices of his own invention (the «rotating plane» for the circular patterns and the «rotating drum» for horizontal patterns). This work was then digitized in 2017.

The shirt is in popeline, featuring the Prada enameled triangle logo with «FEBRUARY» transferred on the back of the shirt. Each shirt comes accompanied by its own gifted NFT, which serves as an invitation to join Prada’s exclusive Crypted NFT community.

As an extension to this month’s announcement, Prada is extending their Web3 community to those who have purchased a Prada Timecapsule before the NFT initiative launched back in June 2022. First launched in December 2019, these Timecapsule collection holders can now claim their own Timecapsule NFT, in sync with their existing physical product. More details will be shared on the Prada Crypted Community on Discord.

Prada continues to give behind-the-scenes opportunities as they offer «Prada Crypted» Discord community members access to unique events and experiences. For last month’s drop, one Prada Timecapsule NFT Holder and guest were hosted in Milan for a Prada exclusive experience which included an invitation to the Prada Menswear Fall/Winter 2023 fashion show. Once again, Prada is offering one NFT holder the chance to enjoy an unparalleled experience for its upcoming Prada Womenswear F/W 2023 fashion show on February 23rd.

My Look: Painted Dots

I like to spend the whole month of January at my happy place, the Gstaad Palace. The hotel’s spa is one of my favorite parts of the hotel with its cozy fireplace, gym, heated outdoor pool and the best spa treatments. Here we photographed this fun look featuring the new Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama collection.

I chose a bag from the «Painted Dots» as I adore its artisanal approach. Louis Vuitton’s craftspeople developed a special technique to make some of the 3D paint daubs look «wet,» as if they’d just been painted by Kusama’s hand.

My look: Double-breasted cloth jacket with feather detail by Prada, pussy-bow cotton-poplin shirticon by Valentino, layered stretch jersey-trimmed low-rise straight-leg jeansicon by Alexander Wang, Kate 100 black suede pumpsicon by Christian Louboutin, silver-tone crystal clip earrings by Alessandra Rich, Painted Dots Monogram scarf, and Painted Dots Monogram Onthego PM, both Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama.

Stay tuned as my birthday is coming up and I will explain to you why I am not afraid of turning one year older…

My Look: New Year’s Eve at the Palace

Following my tradition, I spent New Year’s Eve at the Gstaad Palace hotel with my dear friends and family. «It’s not a fairytale, it’s real.» The hotel’s slogan describes perfectly how a stay at the Palace feels like.

My look: Crystal-embellished cutout stretch-satin jersey gownicon by Paco Rabanne, crystal-embellished leather clutch by Prada, open-toe platform-sole sandals by Gucci, and silver-tone crystal clip earrings by Alessandra Rich.
