Penhaligon’s unveils two new perfumes inspired by the extreme and wild British landscape; that moment where the land meets the sea and untamed energy explodes.

The pure, wild elements are infinitely inspiring and have thrilled painters and poets throughout history. The fragrances transport you to a world of majestic landscapes, of unceasing movement. Penhaligon’s celebrates #BottledLandscape – the drama of nature with two creations, for men and women.

BLASTED HEATH (for men)
Like a powerful swell breaking against the shore, the moment where the Land meets the Sea and energy explodes.

Top notes: Green salty seaweed, aquatic accord and clary sage.
Middle notes: Clearwood™, green leaves, tobacco and whisky accord.
Base notes: Patchouli, Alaska cedar wood, gaiacwood, vetiver and musk.

BLASTED BLOOM (for women)
Illuminating the freshness of wild flora found along the dramatic British coast.

Top notes: Aquatic accord, wild berries and green leaves.
Middle notes: Eglantine rose, hawthorn and pink pepper.
Base notes: Clearwood™, cedarwood, moss and musk.

Both fragrances (Eau de Parfum) are in stores now for CHF 156.00 (50ml) and CHF 221.00 (100ml).

Penhaligon‘s London‘s new fragrance VAARA was inspired by no other than the Royal House of Marwar-Jodphur in Rajasthan. The composition started life as the passion of His Highness Gaj Singh II who wanted to reflect his family’s deep love and connection with Jodhpur and to celebrate his granddaughter Vaara’s birthday. It offers a unique and beautiful glimpse into this aromatic world of the Maharaja. Perfumer Bertand Duchaufour’s journey to Jodhpur provided him with an abundance of inspiration for the fragrance and the end result, VAARA, cleverly captures the spirit of this fascinating part of India.

Top notes: Quince, Rosewater, Carrot Seed, Coriander Seed, Saffron
Middle notes: Moroccan Rose Absolute, Bulgarian Rose Oil, Freesia, Indian Magnolia, Peony, Iris
Base notes: Honey, White Musk, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Benzoin Resin, Tonka Bean

This morning, I attended a press conference at Jelmoli in Zurich to explore the house’s unique shop concept called SAHLING Düfte and to hear more about the newest fragrance launch of Penhaligon’s London: IRIS PRIMA.

In a unique partnership with English National Ballet, the new scent was created by famous perfumer Alberto Morillas to capture the very essence of ballet.

As most of you know, I have been dancing ballet all my life (here you see me with my daughter) and I had immediately my very own ideas how to put all those amazing things about classical dance in one bottle. From the costumes, to the sets on stage, the theatre make-up and the elegant rehearsal rooms, there are many aspects to consider.

Kris told me that it took one and a half year to develop this amazing new scent. During the process, they met with ballet dancers, went backstage, watched how they prepare themselves, their dedication and passion. The British brand even decided to sponsor two dancers to give them the chance to develop their skills even more.

FLORAL WOODY MUSK

Top notes: Bergamot, pink pepper and amber
Middle notes: Iris absolute, Arabian jasmine, hedione and paradisione
Base notes: Leather, sandalwood, vetiver, amber, vanilla and benzoin

If you are in Zurich, pay a visit to Jelmoli’s new corner, it is absolutely worth it. The retro-style apothecary furniture is a wonderful backdrop to shop luxurious fragrances.
