The Ultimate Cinema Experience

It’s weekend, time to go to the cinema. In my recent posts linked to the new House of Gucci movie, I shot inside the Pathé cinema in Spreitenbach (click here for the post), which offers you the ultimate theater experience before, during and after your screening.

«Feel like a star!» – that is the motto when you book the VIP concept, unique in Switzerland, at Pathé Spreitenbach for only CHF 49.00 per person. The VIP experience begins with an automatic check-in kiosk. Through the golden elevator you access the VIP Area on the first floor, including a private bar and 3 exclusive rooms, VIP Lounge, VIP Bed and IMAX VIP. You can enjoy tasting soft drinks and unlimited snacks for free. The bar also includes a wide selection of wines and champagne.

From check-in to the end credits, it’s all about exclusivity, privacy, comfort, luxury, and of course, the best of technology with the IMAX VIP room and the Dolby Atmos sound that equips the VIP Lounge and VIP Bed.

VIP LOUNGE ROOM
26 double sofas and 9 individual sofas (how cool is this when you would like to go to the cinema by yourself) in soft velvet to the touch and in trendy colors are available in the VIP Lounge. Each place is equipped with an induction smartphone charger. The first row even offers extra comfort for those who want to stretch their legs. A cabinet for storing your bag, a shelf equipped with elegant tasting glasses and a shelf for storing your snacks and drinks complete the equipment.

VIP BED
In the VIP BED, 11 double beds await you for an unforgettable cinema experience. These exclusively designed beds offer an incredible view of the screen, while ensuring the privacy of the spectators. Each has 2 orthopedic mattresses. The headboard is electrically and individually adjustable. An induction charger for smartphones, as well as two lockers for storing your personal effects complete the equipment of each bed.

IMAX VIP
With unrivaled image quality (DMR-Digital Media Remastering), pure, vibrant and immersive sound, and oversized rooms, the IMAX experience is arguably the best cinema experience possible. Want to take this experience to the next level? Discover IMAX VIP: 16 cocoon seats with adjustable electric backrests and footrests, an induction charger for smartphones, an adjustable tablet, and a locker to store your personal belongings.

KIDS CINEMA
You will love accompanying your children to the cinema, exclusively at Pathé Spreitenbach! The cinema was created by children for children: colorful Fatboy bean bags, a slide and even a ball pool! The brightness, the sound as well as the choice of films also meet the needs of small moviegoers. You can also privatize the Kids Cinema for a fun birthday party for your little one.

Enjoy your weekend!

My Look: House of Gucci

This is the look that I would have worn to the premiere of the new House of Gucci movie this week, if I hadn’t been in quarantine. Thank God, we shot the look at the Pathé Cinema in Spreitenbach (where you have beds in one cinema, how cool is that?!) before the event.

I personally cannot wait to see the film myself as I heard so much about it and I would like to form my own opinion. A star-studded cast, fashion from the Gucci archives and a true crime story, this is a match made in heaven for me.

Gucci’s Famous Red Velvet Suit

Gucci’s red velvet suit. This is one of those iconic pieces. Designed by Tom Ford in 1996, the red velvet suit immediately became a hit. The Gucci F/W 96 show was one of his best collections ever, he said, «it all came together for the first time.» He referenced his own ’90s Gucci collection for his eponymous label for F/W 2019.

Tom Ford F/W 2019

In celebration of Tom Ford-era Gucci—and the designer’s indelible legacy in fashion, it’s no wonder why the brand’s current creative director, Alessandro Michele, chose to revisit one of the House’s greatest hits for the label’s centennial and released the interpretation of Ford’s iconic suit for his F/W 2021 collection.

Gucci Ad F/W 1996

«Gucci becomes for me a hacking lab, made of incursions and metamorphoses,» Michele said in a statement earlier this year when he first released the re-creation to celebrate the House’s 100th anniversary. «An alchemical factory of contaminations where everything connects to anything

Gwyneth Paltrow made the red velvet suit famous.

In 1996, Gwyneth Paltrow first wore the red velvet suit, designed by Tom Ford for Gucci’s F/W 96 collection, on the red carpet at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards and made it famous. Last month, the actress arrived at Gucci Love Parade in Los Angeles, California in the iteration of the suit by Alessandro Michele.

The recent zeitgeist is all about re-editions, so many brands are looking into their archives for inspiration. As much as the fashion world loves all things new, newer, and newest, in those days we cannot resist a good throwback either.

You can shop the Gucci F/W 2021 look now and get a piece of fashion history: Single-breasted cotton-blend velvet suit jacketicon, and flared cotton-blend velvet suit trousers.

I would have worn this amazing suit to the premiere of the new House of Gucci movie, if I hadn’t been in quarantine. Now, it is up to you to guess if my suit is from 1996 or 2021. As I have always been telling you, don’t throw anything away. The time will come again.

Happy 12th Birthday, Sandra’s Closet!

12 years – as crazy as it sounds but I have been blogging now for 144 months, which is around 4380 days, and this is my 4924th post which means I wrote at least one per day. I am thankful, Sandra’s Closet has taken me on the craziest, busiest but most beautiful ride in my life.

To celebrate this beautiful occasion, I have an amazing contest for you. You can win two tickets for the Swiss premiere of the new movie HOUSE OF GUCCI on November 30th, 2021 which will take place at the Pathé Cinema in Spreitenbach (doors open at 6.30pm, movie starts at 8pm). Opened in 2019, it is the most modern cinema of all experiences with 10 rooms that are all equipped with comfortable seats (or beds) and the best image. The movie will officially hit the theaters in German-speaking Switzerland on December 2, 2021.

HOUSE OF GUCCI is the newest production from producer and director Ridley Scott with the most star-studded casts. Among the many recognizable faces are Lady Gaga, Jared Leto, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, and Salma Hayek. Based on the book by journalist Sara Gay Forden, that I read many years ago, it tells the true story of the feuding Italian dynasty that culminated when Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga), the glamorous socialite, was charged with arranging the murder of her husband Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) in 1997. The movie is the perfect mixture of true crime and fashion. It shows some incredible Eighties fashion, styled by costume designer Janty Yates who was able to browse through the Gucci’s archives.

Here is your chance to win! Enjoy this new blockbuster movie in a plush cinema seat with popcorn and champagne. To win the two tickets for the Swiss premiere, visit my Instagram page and comment on this picture. I will announce the winner on Friday this week.

Good luck and thank you for reading Sandra’s Closet! I will also be at the premiere and cannot wait to see you and indulge in this blockbuster movie together!

Gucci Love Parade

GUCCI‘s Creative Director Alessandro Michele will present his new collection, the second one in the centenary year of the House, live in a momentous show along Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Watch the live stream on November 2nd at 8pm PST. Click here to join the livestreaming.

Later this year, Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated «House of Gucci» will be released starring Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Salma Hayek, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Jared Leto. The film is not directly affiliated with the house but still tied to its legacy nonetheless as it tells the real-life Gucci family with a focus on the murder of Maurizio Gucci (Driver).

Two events that I am very much looking forward to…
