Demna Appointed Artistic Director of Gucci

Georgian designer Demna is leaving Balenciaga after a decade to become Gucci’s new Artistic Director, starting early July 2025.

During a surprise press conference at the Parisian headquarters of parent company Kering, the newly instated Gucci CEO Stefano Cantino said: «I have always admired Demna’s creative approach, that is both unique and powerful. His ability to honor the iconic legacy of a brand while embracing a modern sensibility is extraordinary. With Gucci’s strengthened foundations as a springboard, Demna will lead the House towards renewed fashion authority and enduring cultural relevance

At the Balenciaga F/W 24 show in Paris wearing Demna’s designs head to toe.

Both Gucci and Balenciaga, where Demna has been creative director for nearly 10 years, are owned by Kering. At Balenciaga, Demna has redefined modern luxury, earning global recognition and cementing his authority on the industry.

Founded in Florence in 1921, Gucci is renowned for eclectic and contemporary creations that represent the pinnacle of Italian craftsmanship and are unsurpassed in quality, attention to detail and imaginative design.

Demna said: «I am truly excited to join the Gucci family. It is an honor to contribute to a House that I deeply respect and have long admired. I look forward to writing together with Stefano and the whole team a new chapter of Gucci’s amazing story

Gucci hasn’t set a date for Demna’s debut show, but it isn’t expected to come before September. That means Gucci’s next big moment on the fashion calendar — a May 15th cruise show in Florence, the brand’s birthplace — will be another studio-designed affair.

Louis Vuitton x Murakami – Chapter Two

March 2025 sees the arrival of spring in joyful style, with the launch of Chapter Two of Louis Vuitton × Murakami (for Chapter One click here please). As a poetic celebration of Japan’s cherry blossom season, the 20-year anniversary re-edition of the era-defining original collaboration features Japanese master artist Takashi Murakami’s exquisite Cherry Blossom motif meticulously rendered upon more than 40 of the House’s creations.

From City Bags to silk Carrés, footwear including sneakers and platform sandals, to a spectacular made-to-order Malle Wardrobe, the collection embodies a time of the year when feelings of optimism, renewal and new life are at their peak.

With its cheerful pink flower heads and graceful petals applied using cutting-edge digital printing to a full range of creations, Murakami’s Cherry Blossom is the central motif of the collection: presented upon the iconic Monogram brown canvas of City Bags including The OnTheGo, The Papillon, The Boulogne, and The Speedy 25; a range of Art of Travel luggage including The Rolling Trunk, The Keepall 45, and hard-sided trunks including the spectacular Courrier Lozine 110 Fleurs which features physical Cherry Blossom patches attached to the surface; as well as smaller leather designs including The Nano Bucket bag and The Zippy wallet.

Elsewhere, The Marellini, The Alma BB and one of three different Capucines City Bags are given an all-over, rose-coloured rendering, their joyous surfaces in vibrant ‘cheeky pink’ to match the Cherry Blossom motif.

Finally, Spell on You perfume is given a playful lift as the Cherry Blossom motif is displayed ‘in floral flight’ across the bottle, cylindrical packaging, and travel case, as well as on the glass dome of the Ultimate Flacon.

My Look: Bang

Bang – express yourself! Change your look, change your attitude! A fresh style can boost your confidence, shake things up, and bring out a whole new you. Ready to make a statement? Let your transformation begin!

Here is my new look for the second episode of the new season of MY STYLE ROCKS. The hair style happened accidentally. My hair stylist on set put the clips in to adjust my ponytail and I liked the look of it so much, that I kept them in.

My look: Belted shell jacket, and Monolith brushed leather loafers, both by Prada, virgin wool straight pants by Miu Miu, resin clutch with bowling ball inserts by Alexander McQueen, and rose diamond necklace by Piaget.

My Look: Hot Dog

Fashion and humor collide in the most delightful way with Moschino’s playful designs, and nothing embodies that spirit better than the iconic hot dog outfit, that I wore in the finale episode of MY STYLE ROCKS. A perfect blend of fun and high fashion, this whimsical look turns heads with its bold, tongue-in-cheek style and is a deliciously daring choice that proves fashion doesn’t always have to be so serious!

In German we have an expression «es geht um die Wurst», which translates to «it’s all about the saucisse», meaning it’s the moment of truth. Congrats to Theresia Fischer @theresafischer for winning the first season of MY STYLE ROCKS! Well deserved!

My look: Padded cape, embellished bustier dress, ketchup and mustard earrings, yellow long ruched gloves, yellow mustard tube fascinator, and hot dog shoulder bag, all by Moschino (Resort 2022), and Bow Chain embellished satin platform pumps by Mach & Mach.

Good Vibes, Good Life

If your world seems upside down, I recommend reading Vex King’s «Good Vibes, Good Life». This self-help book focuses on personal transformation through positive thinking, self-love, and mindset shifts, providing practical advice and motivational insights on how to live a happier and more fulfilling life. Personally speaking, it helped me a lot during my journey.

Here are the key themes and lessons:

1. The Power of Positivity
• Your thoughts shape your reality. Maintaining a positive mindset helps attract good experiences and opportunities.
• Surround yourself with uplifting people and environments.

2. Self-Love & Self-Care
Treat yourself with kindness and compassion.
• Engage in activities that nourish your mind, body, and soul.
• Set boundaries and remove toxic influences.

3. Manifestation & Law of Attraction
Focus on what you want, not what you lack.
• Visualizing success and believing in your worth will help bring positive changes.

4. Overcoming Challenges & Negativity
Accept that setbacks and failures are part of the journey.
• Learn from negative experiences and use them for growth.
• Gratitude helps shift focus from problems to possibilities.

5. Raising Your Vibrations
Everything, including thoughts and emotions, has energy.
• Higher vibrations (like love and gratitude) attract positive experiences.
• Practice meditation, affirmations, and mindfulness to maintain a high frequency.

6. Taking Action Towards a Better Life
Positive thinking alone isn’t enough—consistent action is key.
• Develop healthy habits and a routine that supports your goals.
• Stay committed to personal growth and lifelong learning.

In my opinion, Vex King blends spiritual wisdom with practical self-improvement strategies in such a self-explanatory and great way, that is making Good Vibes, Good Life a powerful guide for anyone looking to cultivate happiness, inner peace, and success. The book encourages self-belief, resilience, and the pursuit of a life aligned with one’s true desires. It helped me, and I hope it will help you, too!

Slim d’Hermès Cheval Brossé Watch

Framed by white gold, the profile of a horse stands out in coloured pad printing against an azure enamel sky.

The stylised reinterpretation of a horse by designer Dimitri Rybaltchenko, the house’s partner in dreamy creativity, echoes Hermès’ 2025 theme, Drawn to craft. It is an open invitation to travel and wonderment. On the dial of the Slim d’Hermès Cheval brossé watch, its design hovering between dreams and reality is artistically revealed through enamelling and pad printing.

Designed in 2015 by Philippe Delhotal, the Slim d’Hermès expresses the very essence of the house: a singularity composed of rigour discipline and balance. The radiant sky takes shape beneath the artisan’s meticulous touch, using a brush to apply a blue enamel base: crushed coloured glass powder mixed with natural oils, dried and fired in the kiln to stabilise the pigments.

The horse’s profile is then applied in successive layers of colour. The motif has been previously engraved on a hollow base called a cliché or image plate, which is filled with paint. The colour is then picked up with a flexible pad and transferred to the dial, using subtle layering to obtain the perfect shade and brilliance. An ultra-thin mechanical self-winding H1950 movement from the Manufacture Hermès workshops brings this playful watch to life.

Vividly expressing the house’s leatherworking expertise, the matt Bleu Abysse alligator strap highlights the bright colours of the Slim d’Hermès Cheval brossé in a limited edition of 24.

CHANEL Opens a Shoe Boutique in Zurich

On February 11th CHANEL opened a shoe boutique in the Bongénie department store, which inaugurated its new address at Bahnhofstrasse 3 in Zurich. This is the first time the House has inaugurated a space exclusively dedicated to shoes in Switzerland.

The 60 square-meter boutique designed by New York-based architect Peter Marino perfectly embodies the House’s aesthetic codes in the emblematic palette of white, beige, black, and gold dear to Gabrielle Chanel.

Outside, a large transparent window offers a glimpse of the boutique and showcases the latest creations, like an invitation to discover the universe of the House. Inside the building, a second window faces the vast entrance hall of Bongénie home to a wide selection of shoes.

From the entrance, a vestibule leads the visitor into a space that is both sophisticated and intimate: elegant tweed sofas, wrought metal consoles and custom-made carpets on the deep black floor compose a contemporary vision of Mademoiselle Chanel’s intimate universe.

The sophisticated elegance of the art furniture lends this new boutique its exclusive character. Everything evokes the purity of lines. Textured wall finishes alternate display shelves with more intimate niches, showcasing the shoe collections.

The new boutique opens its doors with creations from the Cruise collection presented in Marseille last spring and summery designs such as the bow-embellished sandals from the Spring-Summer 2025 pre-collection. More wintery offerings are also on display, such as the thigh-high boots from the F/W 2025 Ready-to-Wear collection. Also on offer are iconic designs in a rich assortment of styles including the two-tone slingbacks and ballerinas.
