Long expected! This fall, MIU MIU begins the sales of their first perfume Miu Miu. Miuccia Prada is a master of the counterintuitive, she mixes the common and the ultra-refined to create something surprising and knowing yet never contrived. Drawing on Prada’s inspiration, perfumer Daniela Andrier creates a study in contrasts. The focus is on lily of the valley flowers supported with floral notes of jasmine, rose absolute and synthetic green notes, as well as a special ingredient created by Givaudan, akigalawood, which develops the scent of patchouli, notes of pepper and woody aromas of oud. Unique, youthful and sophisticated, the new scent will surely be a bestseller.

The scent stays unchanged, only the emblematic bottle and its precious case will be dressed for the occasion in midnight blue and platinum, bringing new spirit to the design, revisited by Isabelle d’Ornano.

When I was in Los Angeles for the TOM FORD Ford F/W 2015 show, I was invited to visit the brand’s presentation of the upcoming beauty launches at the Sunset Tower hotel. The moment I entered the suite, my eyes were immediately drawn to two clutch bags placed above the fireplace.

This amazing piece of art is finished with a lipstick holder at one side and comes with the ‘Vanilla Suede‘ shade from the brand’s beauty collection (you can use every TOM FORD lipstick shade of course). It’s lined in leather and has a zipped pocket, so you can keep your essentials neatly organized inside. The concealable snake chain strap offers an alternative way to wear this elegant Italian-made piece.

Happy Birthday Flowerbomb – what a great «flowerbombastic» party! The house of Viktor&Rolf celebrated the 10th year anniversary of their iconic scent at Le Trianon in Paris in the beginning of July with a very special evening. The rooms were literally filled with thousands of flowers. Highlight of the night were the outstanding performances by Tori Amos and Charli XCX.

It is one of those days when you are working like crazy and the door bell rings. Yes, mail can be a welcome distraction. Especially when it comes from the House of Guerlain, sending their newest scent, which (big surprise) you can name yourself.

Guerlain Mon Exclusif, as it is called in the absence of a real name, leaves room for the creativity of its lovers. You are invited to apply metallic lettering on the bottle or have it engraved directly with a unique name.

Created by Thierry Wasser, this oriental scent comes with fougère accords of fresh fern, lavender, soft sandalwood, caramel, salted butter, toffee, mandarine, iris and vanilla. It is absolutely delicious.
