After conquering the world of fashion, fragrance and film, Tom Ford has brought his impeccable vision to the world of beauty. His first cosmetics collection features a complete range of colour and skin treatments.

It all started last September in New York with a lipstick… my first beauty product by Tom Ford was the Lip Color 07 Pink Dusk, a lovely soft pink shade that goes with everything. The texture is truly amazing, leaving your lips moisturized while providing them with rich colour.

The next time I was back in the States, I couldn’t resist to get more. I truly recommend the eyeshadow palettes. The colours stay on the whole day and you can play with the effects as the textures can be built up, from soft to bold. The glittering shades can be tapped over the lid for an overall glamorous look, perfect for New Year’s Eve.

In Europe, Tom Ford Beauty is available aready in selected stores, such as Harvey Nichols in London or Printemps in Paris. In Switzerland, the complete range will be available in March. At the moment, you can buy only the lipstick collection.

Louis Vuitton S/S 2012 Ad Campaign

Here is your sneak preview of the Louis Vuitton advertising campaign for S/S 2012 that captures the essence of this amazing collection perfectly and that is definitely among my favourites. It was shot by Steven Meisel who did also the Prada S/S 2012 campaign.

“The spirit of our S/S 2012 collection is reflected beautifully in this new ad campaign,” says Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Marc Jacobs. “All the tone and texture of the collection – the lightness, the prettiness, the broderie anglaise, the millefeuille layers of organza – are recreated in these wonderful images by Steven Meisel. It is all very soft and very sweet, yet at the same time very bold and very graphic.”

In an intriguing echo of the previous season, the Louis Vuitton S/S 2012 advertising campaign once again takes up the narrative of the fashion show, continuing it from the point where the woman steps daintily off the pure white fairground carrousel and into the pastel pink paradise of a nearby ice cream parlor.

Up-and-coming models Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher are the lucky pair chosen to sample the parlor’s assorted delights while wearing some of the season’s standout looks, including romantic broderie anglaise dresses, ladylike shifts embellished with strass, studs and 3D flowers, and sorbetcoloured suits with white lace collars. Accessories, too, feature prominently in the nine visuals, foremost among them the Lockit bag in sheer nylon voile that opened the runway show, the Speedy in powdered, whitewashed crocodile, and the pointed-toe mules in pastel shades with metal toe caps, dainty laces or rows of tiny buttons.

“The whole ambiance is very pretty, very special and very magical,” says Marc Jacobs, “and I’m sure it will look just delicious and fresh come the spring.”

The Louis Vuitton S/S 2012 advertising campaign will break in the February 2012 issues of magazines worldwide.

I love the Prada S/S 2012 collection and the amazing accessories so much.
The new ad campaign is just the perfect addition!

Bathed in sunlight. Fuelled by optimism. Girls and cars stop and stare at the future in this Technicolor mise-en-scéne of desire. 1950s hot rods and muscle cars with spiky rear fins and bodies emblazoned with flames reflect the design motifs in the collection.
The iconographic language of Americana is re-drawn through more than half a century of pop and style culture. The gas station is cast as a central symbol in this post-modern crossroads of new horizons and economic fulfilment, a stage set where fashion, fantasy and the promise of new discoveries collide.

Through the lens of Steven Meisel, the consistently groundbreaking photographer of Prada’s campaigns, we see the models tower above us, the cars and modernist architecture set against an expanse of azure sky. His low angle and rich colouration emphasise the power and positivism in the campaign and collection message.

The diverse casting of models with distinct characters such as the blonde bombshell or the noir heroine creates a utopian celluloid narrative. A virtual collage of feminine film iconography unfolds in this hyper-real gas station fantasy.

Here is your sneak preview of the Dolce & Gabbana Men S/S 2012 ad campaign.

Imagine life in a Southern Italian village, imagine scenes of an Italian-style comedy.
And now, imagine a campaign as a film interpreted by real actors such as Francesco Scianna, Filippo Nigro, Giuseppe Fiorello, Chiara Francini (just to name a few).

The main theme of this campaign is actually the Italian cinema, a continuous source of inspiration for the famous Italian designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana throughout their career.

The photos shot by Mariano Vivanco highlight the values of Dolce & Gabbana: the Italian spirit, tradition, family, love but also the ability to render the past contemporary, to capure its modernity.

Lippin’ La Vida Loca

39-year-old Latin singer Ricky Martin and 28-year-old rapper Nicki Minaj took over as faces from Lady Gaga for MAC’s new 2012 Viva Glam campaign. Shot by famous photgrapher David LaChapelle, the two stars pose next to a giant lipstick.

The collection is for a good cause. Every cent of the selling price of MAC VIVA GLAM lipstick and lipgloss is donated to the MAC AIDS fund.

Versace for H&M – Let the Madness Begin

Hitting the shops on November 17th, here is your sneak preview of what is to come for Versace’s upcoming collaboration with H&M.
The looks are very „Versace“, reminiscent of the famous `80s prints, bright, colourful and boy-con. The leather pieces are embellished with a lot of studs. Thanks to Vogue Russia, I can show you some of the pieces. The ad campaign featuring Sasha Pivovarova, Lindsey Wixson and Daphne Groenwald also gives a wonderful insight into the highly anticipated Versace for H&M collection.

Besides Donatella Versace being the first to wear the leather studded dress (for photos click here for the previous post), of course Anna Dello Russo has not to wait until November. She was spotted in the same dress during the beginning of Paris Fashion Week.

At the Ermanno Scervino S/S 2012 Show

Today, I also went to see the Ermanno Scervino S/S 2012 show which took place at la Scuola Militare, the military school. The scenery was quite impressive and a wonderful juxtaposition to the very romantic and feminine collection.

With the next summer collection, Ermanno Scervino takes us on a voyage across India of Rajasthan and of the Maharajas. The Florence based designer is constantly melting different worlds and different materials, combining sportswear and couture by playing with unexpected combinations, such as geometric jackets over light ruffled dresses.

In the front row (so-called “frow” now), I spotted Alice Dellal (model and sister of shoe designer Charlotte Olympia) who is the new advertising face for the Ermanno Scervino F/W 2011 campaign, in the amazing black overall from the winter collection. Alice with her edgy look adds the right twist to those soft and playful creations.

The world wide campaign, conceived by Thierry Mugler and orchestrated by Christophe de Lataillade, the brand’s Artistic Director, has brought together an exceptional cast. British director, Baillie Walsh, directed the film and the image was immortalized by the duo of fashion photographers Inez van Lansweerde & Vinoodh Matadin.

Carine’s World for Barneys New York

Last Saturday, Barneys New York celebrated the launch of their new womens F/W 2011 campaign „Carine’s World“ with a gigantic party in New York City. Many celebrities attended, but the real highlight of the evening was definitely the karaoke performance of Anna Dello Russo and Carine Roitfeld on stage.

The new campaign for the American department store was cast by Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of French Vogue. Friends, family members, people she admired over years for their style, were featured in the newest must-haves. Carine worked alongside renowned photographer Mario Sorrenti and Barneys New York Creative Director Dennis Freedman.

In the store, you can find some installations with quotes that I enjoyed very much. I hope that you do, too!
