My Look: Home

Last weekend, I flew to Frankfurt am Main in Germany to attend my 25 year class reunion. It feels always nice to be home, seeing my family and indulging in childhood memories. Here you see me in my parents’ garden in my favorite hidden corner. I love anything zodiac, therefore this sweater was a must for me. I was definitely born under a lucky star… feeling grateful.

My look: Embroidered wool capeiconSylvie mini buckle leather shoulder bag, skinny denim pant with embroidery, embellished oversized square-frame sunglassesicon, and Ultrapace mid-top sneakericon, all by Gucci, neon pink cashmere scarf by Ralph Lauren Black Label and astro cashmere sweater by Dior.

My Look: Vivamayr

Hello from beautiful and sunny Austria where I arrived on Sunday evening at VIVAMAYR Maria Wörth. At this famous holistic health clinic that combines modern complementary medicine with traditional diagnostics and therapies according to F.X. Mayr, I will indulge for one week in a healthy lifestyle to detox and recharge my batteries.

Here you see me outside on the first day at the hotel’s private shore enjoying the warm fall weather. Stay tuned for more… right now I will take everything a little slower.

My Look: Back to the ’80s

The ’80s are back. But not everything is making a comeback, absolutely trending are sneakers, vibrant colors, strong-shouldered or asymmetric silhouettes and high side ponytails. I know, when you hear the term: side ponytail, hair nightmares of the ’80s may start dancing in your head, but I am here to change that. They are a welcome change from the hairstyles of today. Take this look as your guide on how to pay homage to the ’80s in 2018.

The message is clear «Girls just wanna have fun» exactly as Cindy Lauper warbled in 1983. And believe me, you will feel so young again…

My look: Cloudbust logo-embossed rubber and leather-trimmed mesh sneakers and asymmetric intarsia wool sweatericon, both by Pradaruffled crinkled silk-chiffon blouseicon and Sylvie mini buckle leather shoulder bag, both by Gucci, rickrack-trimmed stretch-cotton jersey track pants by Mira Mikati, and two heart-overlay round-frame sunglasses by Miu Miu and cocktail ring by Etro.

My Look: St. Barts

Discovering new designers has always been a passion of me and one that I truly adore at the moment is Columbian designer Johanna Ortiz.

Being on everyone’s radar, she was inspired this season by the essence of the French-influenced Caribbean island of St. Barts and I thought it couldn’t be a better match to wear this beautiful cotton top with its voluminous sleeves and V-neck cut exactly there.

My look: St. Barts cotton-poplin peplum top by Johanna Ortizcropped high-rise wide-leg jeans by Stella McCartneyJordaan horsebit-detailed jacquard loafers and Sylvie mini buckle leather shoulder bag, both by Gucci, wide cuff by Chanel, diamond ring by Vainard Fine Jewellery, earrings by Cartier and rose diamond necklace by Piaget.

Wrap It Up!

wrap_it_up

Absolutely trending this F/W 2016 season is wrapping a silk scarf around the handle as seen on the Louis Vuitton runway or to tie a ribbon around it as Alessandro Michele did at Gucci.

scarf_hermes_handle

I decorated my So Black Kelly bag recently with a 90 x 90cm silk scarf by Hermès. Stay tuned, the complete look will be coming up tomorrow.

Before starting to wrap it around the handle, it is important to fold the base very precisely:

The easier way is to use a Twilly, another a silk design by Hermès that is specifically used for that purpose (although it’s also used for other things like your wrist). It is thin and an easy way to customize your bag.

Have fun decorating your bag!

My Look: Zoofäscht 2016

Zoofaescht2016_Sandra_Bauknecht_Gucci_SS2016

Bohemian luxury inspired by the gypsy free spirit, Gucci‘s romantic dresses embrace all of those feelings and I am truly addicted to Alessandro Michele‘s designs.

I wore this beautiful creation to the Zoofäscht in Zurich three weeks ago which is one of the highlights of the city’s social calendar. The black tie gala took place for the 15th time and raised CHF 780’000 for the zoo’s new Australia complex. It was a fun night with many show acts entertaining the generous guests.

My look: Appliquéd silk-jacquard and printed cotton maxi dressSylvie mini buckle leather shoulder bag iconand green suede sandals (S/S 2006), all by GucciTank Américaine in yellow gold with diamonds by Cartier, Diorette ring and matching earrings, both by Dior Haute Joaillerie.
