My Look: Tropézienne

Feeling very «tropézienne» in the small seaside town of Saint Tropez on the French Riviera. Its fame started in the 50s and 60s, when Brigitte Bardot set foot on the soil of this fishing town. From then until today, this place never ceases to intrigue with its tiny streets and beautiful colors. A great time to come here is at the end of the season for the Voiles de St. Tropez, which is one of the most prestigious regattas in the Mediterranean. Both ultramodern yachts and rare wooden yachts participate in it. This year, it takes place between September 29, 2023 until October 8, 2023.

My look: Fringed wool and cashmere-blend jacquard scarficon, and printed stretch-jersey leggings, both by Valentino, Playboy Lips appliqué canvas book clutch by Olympia Le-Tan, black bandeau topmetal glass pearls leather earrings, and logo metal chain belt, all by CHANEL, and Jodie black suede platform sandals by Saint Laurent.

Gucci’s Newly Renovated Saint-Tropez Store

Gucci announces the reopening of its newly renovated boutique in Saint-Tropez. Located at 72, rue François Sibilli, between the port and the place des Lices, the space spans over 200 square meters across two floors and carries a wide array of pieces comprising ready-to-wear and accessories for both men and women. Guests are welcomed to discover the House’s signature handbags lines including the Jackie 1961, the Bamboo 1947 and the Horsebit 1955 along with a curated selection of precious jewelry pieces. In addition, the boutique showcases items from the Gucci Valigeria collection envisioned for the perfect get-away.

Situated in a classic Saint-Tropez house characterized by the typical green shutters that define the surrounding landscape, the boutique is crowned by a private garden designed around an old well providing guests with a space to relax, enjoy the greenery and immerse themselves in the beautiful atmosphere of the French Riviera.

The design of the interiors complements the outdoors evoking the unique beauty of the Cote D’Azur through light-toned hues and the implementation of local materials and finishes. Floors are adorned with Liberty style mosaics recreating curved volutes designs typical of the early 20th century. Natural oak panels found across walls harmoniously complement woven rattan finishes in a nod to local craftmanship traditions.

Envisioned to make guests feel at home, the store is framed with newly designed racks inspired by classic brass designs associated with drawers reminiscent of hard sided trunks inspired by the House’s luggage offer. Carpets and curtains match the boutique’s sophisticated palette evoking the light-hearted spirit of warm summer days. Ensuring the most comfortable and intimate shopping experience, guests may reserve a dedicated room within the store to enjoy privacy and special services tailored to their specific needs.

As part of Gucci’s commitment to implement and enhance eco-friendly initiatives and energy-efficient technologies in the House’s stores worldwide, the new boutique is designed using LEED guidelines and principles; monitor and promote energy efficiency.

ASW Summer Weekend in Saint Tropez

This week, the ASMALLWORLD Summer Weekend took place in Saint Tropez. For the first time, the famous Hôtel Byblos was the home for the weekend. Refined and exclusive, the magical venue located in the heart of Saint Tropez, was the perfect place to get the event started with sundowner cocktails around the pool at the Lounge-Bar «B».

Later, we went to «Le Quai» restaurant in the port to celebrate the good life. While we were indulging in exquisite champagne, and culinary delights, we enjoyed an exciting dinner show. Needless to say, we danced the night away.

All details of my look are coming up in my next post.

LoL, Sandra

Best hosts: CEO ASMALLWORLD Jan Lüscher and beautiful Emily May Nind

It was very cold in Saint Tropez that evening: So better tea than champagne… good times with Frank and Bettina Meissner and Emily May Nind.

New Location for CHANEL in Saint-Tropez

CHANEL is returning, as it does every year, to Saint-Tropez to celebrate the summer. For one season, the House is leaving La Mistralée townhouse and settling in the heart of the village. Built on a little town square with typical Provençal charm, a large 340m2 ochre stone residence with blue shutters has been transformed into an elegant boutique hosting the ready-to-wear and accessories collections by Virginie Viard, a selection of jewellery and watches, as well as a range of perfumes.

As if entering a holiday home, clients are welcomed into a shady garden with an outdoor salon surrounded by Mediterranean species. The boutique opens onto a vast vestibule decorated with a stained-glass window – a reference to the stained-glass of the Aubazine abbey where Gabrielle Chanel spent part of her childhood.
The ground floor then unfolds around a single large room punctuated with black columns contrasting with a terracotta floor and white walls set with panels of beige zellij or quilted-effect fabric. A minimalist two- tone architecture where warm spaces are created by sets of furniture, such as the curved lamps and the light-coloured rugs hemmed in black.

This spacious salon presents the S/S 2023 ready-to-wear collection and pre-collection, to be joined in the coming weeks by the CHANEL – Dakar 2023 Métiers d’art collection. Styled on mannequins, the looks are also shown in understated dressing rooms made of stretched woven fabric textured like white tweed. Accessories, small leather goods and costume jewellery mingle with books and decorative objects in large bookcases. Les Eaux de CHANEL fragrance collection also occupies these shelves, like a row of invitations to visit Deauville, Biarritz, Paris, Venice, Edinburgh and of course, the landscapes of the Riviera. The ground floor is also home to two other spaces. The first one is devoted to bags, including the iconic 2.55 and 11.12 bags, along with seasonal creations and new versions of the CHANEL 22 bag. The second one is dedicated to summer with swimwear and beach accessories, sunglasses and from May onwards, a preview of the CHANEL COCO BEACH collection.

Upstairs, the decor combines modern furniture with elements inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s own apartment: a wheatsheaf table and decorative objects in bronze and rock crystal by Goossens, screens and mirrors. A second stained-glass window softens the sunlight while a space like a contemporary boudoir is home to the Watches and Fine Jewelry, notably the COCO CRUSH and N°5 collections, and the J12, Première and BOY·FRIEND watches. Pale fabric sofas for visitors to try on the season’s shoes, nestle by dressing rooms presenting further ready-to-wear silhouettes. Three large fitting rooms complete this welcoming holiday home, steeped in the art de vivre of the French Riviera.

The CHANEL seasonal boutique in Saint-Tropez will open its doors from 8th April until October.

My Look: Goodbye Summer

The Voiles de St. Tropez is one of the most prestigious regattas in the Mediterranean. Both ultramodern yachts and rare wooden yachts participate in it. This year, it takes place between September 24, 2022 until October 8, 2022. However, I have a dilemma as everything happens at the same time. Paris Fashion Week and Zurich Film Festival are also on my schedule, as well as my sister’s wedding. It is also the end of summer and I would love to stroll again through the tiny streets of St. Tropez in this floral combination as I did in July.

My look: Belted jumpsuit with floral poppy print, frayed floppy floral linen hat, and poppy print silk scarf, all by Zimmermann, heart shape bag, logo printed sandals with 100mm heel, and long logo earrings, all by CHANEL.

Byblos by Trudon

Le Byblos St. Tropez is so much more than a hotel, it is a whole way of life. It is one of my favorite spots in the world and I always feel home away from home. What is the Gstaad Palace in winter for me, is the Byblos Saint Tropez in summer.

Finally, I can take some holiday feeling back home with the beautiful Byblos scented candle that is created in collaboration with the oldest candlemaker in the world – the House of Trudon.

The candle is made in a colour exclusive to Byblos and is limited to only 55 numbered pieces, an homage to the 55th anniversary of the Byblos. Each candle is a reflection of extraordinary know-how and is recognisable by the emblems of both houses as well as its highly unusual orange glass. The Cyrnos fragrance, with its lemon, lavender and pine notes, resonates with the joie de vivre that permeates life on the French Riviera. Available as 270g for CHF €130.

My Look: St. Tropez Nights

St. Tropez nights are just amazing – one of my favorite spots is the terrace of my hotel, the Byblos St. Tropez. On my way from my suite to the pool area, I always pass the Galerie Palmer. The paintings were the perfect backdrop to shoot this vibrant Fendace look.

My look: Fendace Wild Baroque cropped top with lace, and matching Fendace Wild Baroque ruched midi skirt, and black leather double platform sandals, all by Versace, V-Logo leather shoulder bagicon by Valentino, Clash de Cartier ring in 18K rose gold with amazonite by Cartier, logo earrings by CHANEL, and Oyster Perpetual 36 with turquoise dial by Rolex.

My Look: La Plonche

Do you know La Plonche? It is one of my favorite parts of Saint Tropez, hidden away from the masses at the port. Sitting close into the buildings of the old town, the small beach is fronting the oldest part of the French village and offers stunning sea views. You need to walk round a small coastal path to reach it. It is a legendary, fairytale place. Brigitte Bardot was a regular at the iconic Hôtel de la Ponche around the corner.

I absolutely love to wear Zimmermann dresses in Saint Tropez. It is the perfect brand for the Riviera.

My look: Estelle belted paisley-print linen and ramie midi dressicon by Zimmermann, yellow and orange Deauville beach tote by CHANEL, Naomi buckled leather mulesicon by The Attico, yellow beaded earrings by Oscar de la Renta, and Clash de Cartier ring in 18K rose gold with amazonite by Cartier.

My Look: DG Savannah

Saint Tropez is all about the good life, it lives to the rhythm of crazy days and wild evenings. While being here in the South of France, I have barely found the time to post as one event is after the other. Many fashion brands are hosting fantastic parties. One night for example we were invited by Dolce & Gabbana to La Sauvageonne for great food, yummy Dolce & Gabbana rosé and of course lots of dancing. The dress code said «DG Savannah», so I went for this beautiful dress from the new Pre-Fall 2022 collection along with the fun leopard boots.

My look: Ruched sequined zebra-print jersey mini dressicon, leopard-print pointed-toe boots, Dolce embellished printed leather shoulder bag, emerald green crystal clip-on earrings and emerald green crystal necklace, all by Dolce & Gabbana.
