Last week’s gala episode of MY STYLE ROCKS was all about the 1980s. I love this era as it was all about bold, loud, and unapologetic fashion! Think big everything—from oversized shoulder pads to voluminous hair. Neon colors, metallics, and animal prints dominated wardrobes, while leg warmers and spandex became gym-to-street staples. Preppy looks with popped collars and designer logos contrasted with edgy punk styles, featuring ripped jeans and studded leather. Accessories were just as over-the-top, with chunky jewelry, gloves, and fanny packs stealing the spotlight. Whether inspired by Madonna, Michael Jackson, Dynasty or Wall Street’s power suits, the 80s were a decade where more was definitely more!
My look: Double-breasted wool-blend blazer with oversized shoulders
, and matching green mini skirt, both by Balenciaga, black tulle gloves with GG motif
by Gucci, Mitza ring by Dior Fine Jewellery, wide chain bracelet by CHANEL, ivory oyster enamel mother of pearl brooch by Burberry, hoop-drop clip earrings
, classic Paris D’Orsay pumps with bow, metallic-trimmed leather clutch, black chiffon bow choker necklace, and wide-brimmed rabbit and cotton-blend felt fedora, all by Saint Laurent.

«Fashion is a weapon that you can use when you need it.» – Donatella Versace
Society’s ever-adapting fashion trends provide an opportunity for us to communicate our own message through our sense of style. Fashion is so much more than bags and brand names — it is a bridge between our inner and outer worlds, a medium for artistic expression, a call to creativity and self-exploration. Fashion is a weapon, use it wisely, as it can be one of the most powerful tools you have. It can be your magic confidence booster, and a tool to manipulate others how they conceive you. Be your own warrior!
My look: Tailored blazer by Balmain, Louis mini dress by Annie’s Ibiza x Clio Peppiatt, VSLING mini top handle handbag in black with sparkling embroidery
, and studded Tan-Go platform pumps, both by Valentino, Eyota net stockings by Fogal, and crystal-embellished braided choker by Alessandra Rich.

Do not forget … it’s fashion and it’s for my museum. I have never had so many heads turning around than the day I walked through the streets of London in these shoes. I love pieces that are avantgarde, unexpected and different. Therefore I had to get Alexander McQueen‘s hoof boots and Balenciaga‘s super cool denim top, which you can easily restyle with a pair of jeans. Both are from the F/W 2024 collections, to shop them, click on the highlighted product description below.
My look: Knitted black cardigan, matching scarf, and hat, all by Stella McCartney, denim pants top (F/W 2024 Look 44) by Balenciaga, VLogo Moon embellished woven shoulder bag by Valentino, hoof booties (F/W 2024 Look 16) by Alexander McQueen, and diamond rose pendant necklace by Piaget.

Today’s episode of MY STYLE ROCKS is about «fairytale characters».
For the show I styled this outfit with pieces of my closet and became a fashion fairy, ready to put my magic spell on our lovely candidates. I love creating theme inspired outfits with normal pieces instead of going to a costume shop.

My look: Faylinn dress by Mary Katrantzou (Look 23, F/W 2017 collection inspired by Walt Disney’s Fantasia), puffin resin clutch by JW Anderson, Kiki embellished suede platform knee-high boots by Marc Jacobs, and velvet cone princess hat with veil by CHANEL (Look 66, Métiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2021 ‘Le Château des Dames’).

A big thank you to the team on set, @metindemirhair and @saimesaime for the gorgeous clip-in bangs. Do you think I should cut my hair like this? I am pretty much tempted …

Today, I would like to introduce you to the unusual color combination of mint green, green and a touch of blue. As a child, the quote I’ve always heard was: «Grün und Blau schmückt die Sau,»which literally translates into green and blue is worn by a pig. After doing some research, I found out that it originates from a verse of the song «Delmenhorst» by Elements of Crime from the ’80s. However English people think the same and state, «blue and green should never be seen unless there‘s something in between.»
Personally speaking I think blue and green are gorgeous together. For this look, I added colour-pop accessories in blue hues to the mint and green combination to create an interesting mix.
My look: Wool and silk-blend crepe blazer
, and cropped pleated cotton-blend crepe wide-leg pants, both by Ralph & Russo, silk-georgette blouse
by Alexander McQueen, Pillow smalll feather and crystal-embellished floral-jacquard tote
by Dries Van Noten, Purist 105 suede pumps
by Aquazzura, vintage blue crystal earrings by CHANEL, Clash de Cartier ring large model in pink gold with amazonite, and LOVE bracelets, all by Cartier.
