An Evening at Najd Village in Riyadh

Riyadh is a city where the past and present live side by side, but nowhere is this harmony more beautifully expressed than at Najd Village. Invited by my friend, the Vice Governor of Space, I stepped into a world where time slows, textures soften, and traditions take center stage.

Najd Village is not merely a restaurant, it’s a curated ode to Najdi culture, a tribute to the historic Najdi architecture of central Saudi Arabia. Earthen walls, sculpted wooden doors, and amber-toned lanterns cast a warm glow over intimate rooms designed for floor seating. It’s an experience that blends heritage with understated luxury.

After a brief detour into one of the men-only areas – an innocent cultural misstep I quickly corrected – we settled into our private room. Cushions and woven carpets created an atmosphere that felt both grounding and indulgent.

Cardamom tea as a welcome drink as alcohol is forbidden in Saudi Arabia.

The menu was a revelation. Fragrant spices, slow-cooked stews, and my very first taste of camel delivered a culinary narrative rich with history and character. It was a meal served not just with expertise, but with soul.

And of course, fashion is never far from my mind. Sitting on the floor introduces its own sartorial considerations, ones I embraced fully. I’ll be sharing the outfit soon: comfortable, elegant, and completely floor-seating approved.

Net-à-Porter Dinner with Mary Katrantzou

Net-a-porter Dinner with Mary Katrantzou

Yesterday, I flew to London for a very special and intimate dinner hosted by Net-à-Porter iconto celebrate one of my favorite designers Mary Katrantzou at the Blakes hotel. It is always a pleasure as Alison Loehnis, President of Net-à-Porter, brings together the most amazing women from all over the world.

Sandra Anouschka

Here you see me with my friend Anouschka whom I also had met at a previous event of Net-à-Porter. Some of you might recognize her from this post a few years ago when we went to an evening at the V&A museum with legendary French shoe designer Christian Louboutin. Funnily enough, we realized that we both went to the same school in Germany… what a small world. We stayed in touch and it is always great fun seeing each other.

Dinner with Harrison Ford at Tommy Hilfiger

Cover ZFF 2013 Tommy Hilfiger Dinner

From September 26 to October 6, 2013, the 9th edition of the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) took place with many amazing events. One of the biggest highlights of those days was surely the evening with Harrison Ford. As official partner of the 9th ZFF, Tommy Hilfiger invited members of the jury along with other VIP guests to a very intimate dinner followed by an after party at the store on Bahnhofstrasse.

ZFF Dinner Hilfiger

We got absolutely spoilt that night. Each guest was greeted at his seat by an iPad mini that we could keep and the food (by Franzoli Caterings) was absolutely divine. I stayed until late to great music and must say that this was one of the best nights out in Zurich in a long time.

Meeting a legend, Mr Harrison Ford in person, made me obviously very happy.
