Louis Vuitton Cruise 2013

Louis Vuitton Cruise 2013

I always love spotting the newest cruise collections because in general, those include the most wearable pieces of the season. In the case of Louis Vuitton Cruise 2013, the colours are absolutely striking. My favourite piece: The fur vest in purple and brown, this combination is to die for! Following the F/W 2012 trend, overlays are kept, like putting on pants, blouses or dresses. See for yourself! The collection will be in stores in December 2012.

A Space Odyssey

Balenciaga

„Cosmonauts and seventies Formica. Packaging and food boxes. Synthetic foam and plywood. And a kind of rigidity“. That was the inspiration behind the F/W 2010 Balenciaga shoes, said designer Nicolas Ghesquière.

Is this the shoe of the season? One thing is for sure, those striking platforms are the coolest new-age footwear ever, a perfect playful fusion between futuristic and retro chic.
Either you like them or not, but the design and creativity involved is definitely worthy the review. The colour-block, geometric heels are a piece of art, designed by Pierre Hardy for his pal Nicolas Ghesquière.

SpaceOdysee

The F/W 2010 Balenciaga collection was among the most modern ones on the runways with an overall result of an organic carapace and noteworthy colour combinations.
A space Odyssey that would be the perfect “Back-to-School”-look.

Absolutely stunning, a total must, to die for.

Nineties Minimalism

Our time machine is moving further. After the glam references of the past decades, some designers also saw the impact of architectural purity during the 90s and there is something intrinsically cool about today’s new minimalism.

The creations are great investment pieces, very versatile, less extreme and more functional. You could go through decades wearing the same thing and looking great.

If you want to add some 90’s minimalist sophistication to your wardrobe, think more about tailored silhouettes in superb quality. Draping, asymmetry and unusual fabrics give maximum choice for minimal style.

The colour palette is mostly muted with a lot of white, camel, grey and black. But if you love the bright hues, it does not mean that you cannot buy into minimalism. There were lots of beautiful choices on the runways.

To conclude our trip through time, those pure outfits have more longevity than any other seasonal looks. But wether or not, trends never really go out of fashion, it just takes a while for them to resurface and each decade has the same key factor, the need to be fashionable.

With this in mind, enjoy the comeback of 90’s great fashion moments!
