Hollywood in Zurich

Tommy_Hilfiger_Dinner_ZFF2014

Tonight, I am invited by Tommy Hilfiger and the Zurich Film Festival and I couldn’t be any happier about it. Each year, Hollywood comes to Zurich. In 2013, it was Harrison Ford (for the previous post click here) and in 2014, it was John Malkovich who joined Tommy Hilfiger and Daniel Grieder, CEO Tommy Hilfiger, on this special occasion.

Time flies and I realized that I have never posted the pictures from last year. So here you go. Even 12 months later, it hasn’t lost any of its glamour.

Stay tuned for the photos of tonight. I promise it won’t take another year…

LoL, Sandra

Last Wednesday, Trudie Götz and her team celebrated the opening of her two new concept stores, TROIS POMMES – THE STORE, one for women on Bahnhofstrasse 18 and one for men on Bahnhofstrasse 12 in Zurich. The new three-story shop for ladies is filled with everything a fashionista’s heart desires, the must-have pieces from well-known designers such as Givenchy, Saint Laurent and Peter Pilotto among others. For this special occasion, jewelry designer Harumi Klossowska and cashmere guru Greg Chait of The Elder Statesman had flown in to get to know their Zurich customers. Great concept, amazing interior, two thumbs up!

LoL, Sandra

Zurich Has Its First Concept Store

Trois Pommes The Store Cover

The invite said  “… to be irreplaceable you always must be different…”. Trois Pommes is exploring new avenues. Trudie Götz, owner of the famous Swiss shops, opened last Thursday the doors of Zurich’s first concept store TROIS POMMES THE STORE. Since many years, she has a nose for upcoming talents and the most important designers of the season.

On Bahnhofstr. 12, you can shop now Stella McCartney, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Rodarte, Altuzarra and many more. Accessories by Myriam Schaefer and Maison Takuya add this certain touch of luxury and uniqueness. Moreover, you can indulge in the amazing beauty line Zelens by Dr. Mark Lens who was also present at the opening. I like!

Meet Lydia Courteille

Lydia Courteille

Yesterday I had the priviledge to meet the Parisian jewelry designer Lydia Courteille.

An amazing woman with a special aura that designs outstanding jewels. The scale of her creations is absolutely incredible. Mostly big pieces inspired by historical periods show her fantastical imagination. She uses a lot of ancient stones that the passionate antiquarian has collected over the years. A certified gemologist, Lydia Courteille uses her expert knowledge to design jewelry that is vibrant, colourful and unexpected.

Each collection has its story. There  are “The 9 Planets” : for example the “Cabinet of Curiosities”, “African”, “My Secret Garden”, just to name a few.

She explained to me her love for skulls as a symbol of vanity showing that in the end everybody is equal no matter how rich, beautiful or intelligent the person was. To her it recalls the humility of life. For the rest of her collections, she is pursuing her love of floral or forest landscapes, following her take on gothic elements or using animals like frogs, snakes or elephants for the beauty of their forms. Just looking at her creations you feel her fairytale spirit.

LoL, Sandra
