My Look: CHANEL

CHANEL is forever. Personally speaking, I have been a huge fan of the French Maison since I was a teenager. When I turned 18, I wished for a CHANEL costume. Thanks to my lovely parents, I got one that I still have in my closet along with other treasures I collected over all these years. There is something about CHANEL that I find absolutely amazing. It is never outdated and it never looks «old season». FARFETCHicon has now a dedicated page where they offer vintage CHANEL pieces as they are true investments. Just click on the highlighted text in the description to learn more.

My look: Ensemble in beige and black (Look 48 from the S/S 2019 runway consisting of a cropped top with a large flower brooch and the matching mini skirt), side packs in yellow, straw hat, logo earrings, all from the S/S 2019 collection, clogs from the S/S 2010 collection, charm belt and matching charm braceleticon, both from the F/W 1994 collection, all by CHANEL.icon

My Look: Like Ice in the Sunshine

When the heat wave hit Zurich, I took these photos in my garden of my new beach look that has become one of my favorites this summer. I definitely felt like ice in the sunshine and wished sometimes the CHANEL clutch was made of real ice cubes.

My look: Crystal-embellished lace maxi dressicon and knotted halterneck bikiniicon, both by Alessandra Rich, set of two silver-tone calf hair broochesicon and leather platform sandals, both by Saint Laurent, ice cube clutch bag, straw hat, logo belt and logo earrings, all by Chanel.

Straw Hats, Hemingway and Cuba

2016-05-01 02.46.02

Last night, I arrived in Cuba and was greeted by CHANEL in my hotel room with a lovely surprise: a very cute straw hat created in collaboration with Maison Michel, the famous hat-maker and milliner that was acquired by the House of CHANEL as one of its specialty ateliers.

The first thing popping up in my mind was, how is this shape called? Is it a Panama or a Havana hat, a feodora or a trilby…? Here is a little guide for you so that you will become a real insider.

The easiest thing to remember is that the rim of a fedora curls up while the rim of a panama hat is straight. A trilby is a narrow-brimmed type of hat which in shape resembles the Tyrolean hat.

Straw hats in all shapes have already become a must-have accessory for fashionistas everywhere as they are the perfect addition to a summery look. So ladies, hold on to your hats, many exciting things are waiting for you during the next days!

I am leaving now an a Hemingway tour which will take me on a journey, following the footsteps of one of the worlds greatest writers here in Cuba. In 1940 Hemingway, with his new wife Martha, purchased a home outside Havana where he would live for the next twenty years. Stay tuned!

My Look: Vermillion

Sandra Bauknecht _ Vermillion

The colour vermilion is nowadays commonly called ‘China red’. The perfect hue to be worn in Sanya, where I am at the moment. The South China Sea, which is part of the Pacific Ocean, is absolutely beautiful and was the perfect backdrop to take the photos.

I have truly enjoyed the last days here in paradise, no make-up, just a little lipstick, my hair not straightened, with my natural waves, just living for the moment.

My look: Louise dress, Fatal sleeves and Lucent belt, all three by Wolford, hat by H&M and Melt black powder pumps by Minna Parikka.

Sea, Air and Sun

Sea,Air & Sun

With this summery outfit I am wishing you all a lovely weekend that you hopefully can spend enjoying the sea, air and sun!

If you go on vacation, I always recommend to pack many different sunglasses. You will make a big entrance at the pool when changing almost each day your eyewear. Another tip is to mix your bikini bottoms and tops among each other. Like this, you will look every day completely different.

I am off to the South!

Here is my fifth and final look from the LuisaViaRoma Total Styling Lab. This time I focused on the maxi trend and gave my look some romantic touches by adding a bow belt that I tied around my waist and the cute straw hat.

Nothing epitomises chic summer dressing like a ground skimming dress paired with flat sandals.

Accessory Report S/S 2010: Eco-Chic

Rural Charm

Eco-Chic” is one of the keywords for next summer and hay fever seems to be a new tropical flu. Natural materials some even with a rough character to them were major on the runways.

At Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld manifested the ecological trend by sending his models carrying whicker baskets on their arms down the haystack aisle. He along with many other designers used raffia, woven cords and other faux-rustic fabrics for a variety of unexpected creations.

Hayfever

Since many years, Dolce & Gabbana have made the raffia tote one of their signature pieces for summer. This time in combination with another key material: lace.

Nothing confirms the hot season is close at hand like a giant straw bag or floppy hat. Loved by the Hippies in the 70s, those pieces are companions of longwearing resilience.

Let`s see when the raffia palm is branching out to you…!
