Something we will wear 6 months later…

The focus for Cruise 2014, that was presented yesterday in Singapore, is on a graphic eye in turquoise and black, created with Chanel’s Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in True Blue and Noir Intense.

And the very important question: How will our nails look next spring? Rather than wearing a newly-created colour, models sported Le Vernis Nail Colour in Black Satin from the permanent collection. So ladies, you can get ahead of the game right now… and don’t forget to add punk-style bangs. Stay tuned for an upcoming post on this hair style.

The Colour of the Year is Emerald

“Lively. Radiant. Lush… A colour of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, drum roll please, it is official, EMERALD GREEN is the colour of the year according to Pantone, the authority and market leader in colour. ICE-Watch_EmeraldICE Watch has launched a new unisex watch model in collaboration with Pantone dedicated to the trendy emerald tone, in two variants: emerald and white/white and emerald.
Other trend colours will follow in the future.

Ombre Contraste Notorious de Chanel

MA2012_20_0024

This September, the wait will be finally over: Chanel OMBRE CONTRASTE NOTORIOUS will hit the shelves. I have whetted your appetite for this amazing product already in March after the Chanel F/W 2012 show (for the previous post please click here).

This hybrid powder was used by Peter Philips for all the sculpting and shading of the face like an “eye shadow meets blusher.” Nestled in the iconic JOUES CONTRASTE case, OMBRE CONTRASTE NOTORIOUS, the Exclusive Creation of the Collection, sweeps over eyelids and cheeks in a single stroke. The grey taupe shade, tinged with lavender, is almost imperceptible at first but becomes more intense with each application. Applied as blush and eyeshadow, it acts like a sculpting halo and makes it possible to build a singular, intriguing shadow effect.

Available at Chanel boutiques and at selected retailers such as Jelmoli in Zurich.

Fashion’s Night Out 2012 – Chanel Goodies

Chanel FNO 2012-4

Leave it to Chanel to make a fashionista’s heart leap with joy. For this year’s Fashion’s Night Out, Peter Philips, Creative Director of Makeup, has created three gorgeous matte lipsticks with matching nail polishes in chic, sophisticated tones of plum, pink and beige. The so-called collector-worthy Les Twin-Sets” collection will arrive in Chanel boutiques September 6!

CHanel FNO 2012-5Rouge Allure Velvet for € 30.50 each

Chanel FNO 2012-6Le Vernis for € 25 each

Chanel FNO 2012-2

“Infidèle” is a saturated rose pink. A great colour that suits most skin tones.

Chanel FNO 2012-3

“Provocation” is a rich deep plum that will work perfectly with the season’s dark luxe trend.

Chanel FNO 2012-1

“Délicatesse” is a muted beige, ultra-sophisticated and elegant.

Another gorgeous limited edition from Chanel for the 4th edition of Fashion’s Night Out, just like “Les Jeans de Chanel” (2011), “Les Khakis de Chanel” (2010) and “Jade” (2009), the stunning mint green nail polish that has started the nail polish hype of the last years.
And no end in sight! Stay tuned for more.

Blue Illusion de Chanel

Blue Illusion

This month, CHANEL’s S/S 2012 Haute Couture makeup collection BLUE ILLUSION will hit the stores.
As free as the air itself, blue has always been an invitation to travel, from inky nights and clear lagoons. In a design-forward fashion show setting recreating a long-haul flight in midair, Karl Lagerfeld’s designs were presented with the clouds and moon floating above the audience last January. In a halo of light and strong lines around the eye, blue eyeshadows caressed the eyelids to echo jewel dresses, accompany tomboy postures and soften rebellious hairstyles with a new chic look.

Chanel Blue

Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, borrows the intangible hues of summer blue. Like a cloud-strewn sky, eyes take up shimmering reflections that change with the light.

The juvenile grace of an almost nude face showcases eyes with marine depths, mellowed by the radiance of blue tones.

MA2012_20_0017

On eyelids, ILLUSION D’OMBRE takes on a scintillating and satiny effect that makes eye makeup glow with each bat of the lashes. Two airy shades of grey blue, one pale, DESTINATION, and the other more intense, APPARITION, adapt to all faces. Eyeshadows are applied according to inspiration: in sheer washes or deep colour blocks, in monochrome or gradations.

Chanel Blue

Mascara-laden lashes accentuate the graphic tracing of the eye contour with a sophisticated note. LE CRAYON YEUX BLEU AÉRIEN borders the eyelids with an intense stroke, like a horizon line over the ocean. The effect can be optimized with LE CRAYON KHÔL and LE STYLO YEUX WATERPROOF, chosen in the MARINE shade, perfect to intensify the depth of the eyes or create evening makeup.

Rose Ecrin

The natural complexion is simply dressed in a tender pink blush with JOUES CONTRASTE ROSE ÉCRIN.

SuperstLE CRAYON LÈVRES NATURAL becomes one with a subtle shade of ROUGE COCO SUPERSTITION, a golden beige, the favorite colour of Mademoiselle.

MA2012_20_0020

For the final step of this chromatic journey, LE VERNIS SKY LINE sweeps nails with a delicate shade of pearly blue that captures and softens the light in its pearly reflections.

MA2012_20_0019

Don’t miss those limited edition must-haves:

Illusion d’Ombre (Apparition/Destination) – CHF 47.-
Le Vernis (Skyline) – CHF 38.-
Le Crayon Yeux (Bleu Aérien) - CHF 33.-

Available this month in Chanel stores worldwide and at Jemoli in Zurich.

Les Essentiels de Chanel – Fall 2012 Makeup

MA2011_03_0038Les Essentiels de Chanel

Let me introduce you to Chanel’s new Fall 2012 makeup collection, LES ESSENTIELS DE CHANEL, created by Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup. The collection was inspired by Coco Chanel’s signature style, “her essentials”: The little black dress, the quilted handbag and the two-toned shoe. Personally speaking, it is a very wearable makeup collection with classic pink hues and natural beiges to soften the face and lips while modern grey-black or sophisticated light taupe dress the nails.

In stores in Switzerland end of August 2012.
For the preview and nail colour swatches, please scroll down:

Lumiere

LUMIÈRE D’ARTIFICES BEIGES - CHF 84.-

Designed to extend a summer glow, this limited-edition duo of lighter and darker beige shades—enchantingly rendered to resemble sequins—blends together harmoniously for a subtly iridescent complexion.

My tip: If you have got one of Chanel’s limited edition highlighters from previous collections, you won’t need that one. The design looks beautiful, but the effect is pretty much the same compared to the preceding shimmering powders.

Extrait

ROUGE ALLURE EXTRAIT DE GLOSS - CHF 48.-

Bold colour combines with the smoothest, silkiest gel texture for luxurious wear and deeply dramatic effect. Lips feel comfortable—never sticky or tacky—and look luminous, full and sensuous for hours.

The double-sided, flocked applicator is beveled to deliver ultra-precise definition.

My tip: Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss comes in a new shade, so-called 68 Troublant, which looks stunning worn alone for the day. For a darker, more glamorous effect for night, I recommend adding the new lip definer Le Crayon Lèvres in 54 Amarante - CHF 34.-.

Amaranet

LEDC-Nails

NAIL COLOURS - CHF 35.-

Long-lasting, chip-resistant nail colour straight from the runways of Paris (for a previous post, please click here). State-of-the-art formula strengthens and moisturizes nails. Unique patented non-spill bottle with wiping action for easy application.

My tip: Those nail polishes are a must, get them all! If you have to choose one colour, I would recommend 559 Frenzy, the new light taupe shade, that is different, new and so sophisticated!

Chanel Polishes 3

Frenzy

STYLO YEUX

STYLO YEUX WATERPROOF (EYE PENCIL) – CHF 35.-

Waterproof, smudge-proof eyeliner delivers long-lasting definition with a twist of the wrist: Colour winds up when you need it, winds down when you don’t. Gentle, soft, silicone-enriched formula delivers smooth, even lining. A built-in sharpener at the opposite end detaches for quick refreshes.

My tip: This is your perfect companion for the beach. Line and define the upper and lower eyelids based on eye shape and desired makeup result and it will stay on the whole day even after excessive swimming. I love 88 Noir Intense.

Chanel Bombay Express Makeup Collection

MA2012_20_0010

Each year, the CHANEL Métiers d’Art fashion show celebrates the exceptional talent of these Houses, pairing their know-how with a legendary destination.

PARIS – BOMBAY showcases a specific vision of India. Immense chandeliers and candelabras bathe an opulent banquet table in light. The scent of jasmine floats through the air. Surreal princesses from an idealised empire or authentic Parisian women combine the lavishness of the Maharajas and the timeless codes of the House of CHANEL. Refined jewelry pieces clip back sumptuous hairstyles and black-shadowed eyes take on a catlike appearance.

Indian beauties know how to enhance their noble almond-shaped eyes, which they accentuate with kohl and dark eyeshadows. Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, intensifies the proportions of this iconic makeup to give it a universal character.Eyes succumb to the boldness and mystery of a black eyeshadow in all its nuances with ILLUSION D’OMBRE Mirifique. Graphic makeup with saturated colour blocks stretches out from the corner of the eye to express strength and femininity. The rest of the face focuses on gold and light.

MA2012_20_0011

The exclusive creation of the collection is a precious, evanescent golden powder to dab onto cheekbones and eyelids in scintillating touches. In its classic black-lacquered case, ROUTE DES INDES DE CHANEL recreates an embossed motif of a rare fabric, a piece of bronze brocade from an Indian-influenced collection created by Gabrielle Chanel in the 1960s. A stroke of blush structures the face and warms the translucent complexion with the hint of an elegant and sunny earth tone. Lips remain natural, enhanced by the luster of luminous beige shimmering with gold.

MA2012_20_0012

On nails, an original nail polish mixing pale gold and silver recalls the traditional festival of lights, for which it was named: Diwali.

All products will be available in July.

ROUTE DES INDES DE CHANEL An ultra-luminous and scintillating golden powder, CHF 85.-
(Limited Edition)

LE VERNIS Diwali A vintage gold with silvery metallic reflections, CHF 38.-

Expressions de Chanel – Eye Makeup 2012

MA2011_10_0002_3

A VARIATION ON EYES

An unforgettable face is often due to the eyes: playful, indiscreet, warm or seductive. In 2012, eyes by CHANEL take control. A multi-dimensional mascara, a high-precision eyeliner and eyeshadows that sweep warm and cool tones over the eyes…

Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, creates three mini collections dedicated to the eyes, in three colour expressions – coral, purple and brown.

MA2011_13_0041

Volume, length, curl. Why choose?

INIMITABLE INTENSE is designed for women who want it all, without compromise.

A sophisticated 3D effect is ensured by perfect harmony between the formula and brush:

- An enveloping and coating formula thanks to the patented blend of a vinyl copolymer and wax for an even result that enhances lashes over their entire length.
– A high-tech patented brush in soft and flexible white elastomer for even and optimal application on each lash, from root to tip.

Lashes are instantly stretched, curled and perfectly separated. A deep, intense gaze that fully unleashes its seductive power.

MA2011_13_0051

The iconic LES 4 OMBRES eyeshadow quartets and ILLUSION D’OMBRE eyeshadows stay in tune with three collectable interpretations that reveal eyes whatever the whim or mood…

LES 4 OMBRES enables to intensely adjust makeup with matte, satiny or scintillating effects.

ILLUSION D’OMBRE plays with metallic reflections for a halo of light or more accentuated and shimmering finishes.

Chanel Resort 2013 Makeup Look

k2012-13 Cruise_20

Today’s post is dedicated to the beautiful Chanel Resort 2013 makeup look “Versailles de Chanel”. (For photos of the runway show that took place one week ago at the Bosquet des Trois Fontaines at the Château de Versailles, please click here.)

2012-13 Cruise_13

Generally speaking, pink eyes are not easy to pull off. Well, unless you are Peter Philips, Creative Director for Chanel Makeup. He makes pink eyes covetable as an everyday look with less mascara and an all over pink eyeshadow.

2012-13 Cruise_02

In a little interview, he gave further details on the look: ”The makeup is inspired by the theme of the collection: Versailles. It’s a ‘pink’ makeup, between “girly” and “rebel”. I used Ombre Essentielle-Rose Favorite” on the eyelids and “Joues Contraste – Rose Pétale” as a blusher.

Beige Khol liner ‘Clair’ in the eyes and I slightly enhanced the eyebrows. I kept the skin natural, to avoid the makeup from looking historical. Soft, pinkish lips I achieved by applying “Rouge Coco Shine – Evasion” and I topped the makeup off by placing a black velvet Chanel logo as a beauty spot on either the left or right side of the face (high on the cheekbones, under the eye). Last minute I added a subtle highlight with “Mouche de Beauté” a compact highlight powder.

The eyeshadow, highlight powder and velvet CC’s were created especially for this show.”
