Jeremy Scott Is Exiting Moschino

It is the end of an era! After 10 years, Jeremy Scott is leaving his role as creative director of Moschino. The Kansas City-native, 47, has been at the helm of the Italian luxury brand since 2013, carrying on the important legacy Franco Moschino left behind. Scott reignited the late designer’s tongue-in-cheek, humorous take on high fashion with his fantastical collections that I have been a huge fan of since decades!

Jeremy Scott’s first collection for Moschino was F/W 2014 (click here, to see the outfit post).

His first collection was for F/W 2014. It launched a thousand debates on the role of fashion in the annals of art, consumerism, and social commentary. Scott has penned a fundamental chapter in the legacy of the brand with his fearless and show stopping pop-camp style and incisive humor – true to the renowned codes of the House.

With Massimo Ferretti last month at the Moschino F/W 2023 show.

«I am fortunate to have had the opportunity of working with the creative force that is Jeremy Scott,» said Massimo Ferretti, executive chairman of Moschino’s parent company Aeffe in the official statement. «I would like to thank him for his 10 years of commitment to Franco Moschino’s legacy house and for ushering in a distinct and joyful vision that will forever be a part of Moschino history

With Jeremy backstage at his last show for Moschino in February.

Jeremy Scott said: «These past 10 years at Moschino have been a wonderful celebration of creativity and imagination. I am so proud of the legacy I am leaving behind. I would like to thank Massimo Ferretti for the honor of leading this iconic house. I would also like to thank all my fans around the world who celebrated me, my collections, and my vision for without you none of this would have been possible

I am really sad seeing Jeremy leave Moschino. I have been such a huge fan of his work and can only wish him the best. Thank you for all these dreams you have created for me.

My Look: Delicious Burger

My crazy burger-inspired outfit that I wore to the Moschino F/W 2023 show was actually from the Maison’s Resort 2022 collection. People couldn’t believe their eyes when I walked around the streets of Milan. I adore fashion with a sense of humor and nobody does this better than Jeremy Scott for Moschino.

My look: Burger-motif jacket with salad and tomato embellishment, burger-motif high-waisted skirt, sequined hamburger crossbody bag, large clip-on burger earrings, and one-of-a-kind burger-motif head piece, all by Moschino, nude silk shirt by Miu Miu, and Iriza 100 patent-leather pumps by Christian Louboutinicon.

Moschino After Show Dinner

The MOSCHINO after show dinner took place at Osteria La Risacca 6, an amazing restaurant specializing in seafood in Milan. Each dish on the menu was extremely good, prepared exclusively with fresh seasonal ingredients. The atmosphere was vibrant, great music played and we danced at the table.

With lovely Sara Bongiorni from MOSCHINO.

If you love fish dishes and you are in Milan, you must visit this restaurant.

After the dinner, we ended the night at Just Cavalli Club. As the name implies, the nightclub was designed by the designer Roberto Cavalli. Especially during fashion week, the club attracts fashionable club-lovers from across the world owing to its bespoke interiors and the overall clubbing ambiance.

Behind the Scenes: Moschino F/W 2023 Show

This season, I flew to Milan Fashion Week to indulged in a 2-day extravaganza with MOSCHINO. I started with a shopping spree in their newly opened boutique located at Via della Spiga, 26, followed by the highlight of my trip. I attended the F/W 2023 show, followed by a backstage visit to meet Jeremy Scott and an intimate dinner with my MOSCHINO family.

Arriving at the venue with my MOSCHINO family.

With Massimo Ferretti, who is the executive chairman of parent company Aeffe SpA, that he founded in 1980 with his sister Alberta Ferretti. Aeffe SpA owns Moschino.

Ever wonder what it’s like before a runway show? Before the crowds, the music and glamour; what really happens when the guests arrive? I always say that there is already a fashion show happening outside. Streetstyle photographers try to capture the best outfits as well as the celebrities who are attending the défilé. While backstage the models get ready, I’ve always been intrigued by how designers cope with the stress of fashion shows. I mean it is the most important minutes of their entire season.

A fashion show backstage is packed with models, designers, managers, stylists, makeup artists, hairdressers, publicists, and other fashion elite who are there to ensure a fabulous show. Behind the scenes, there’s an army of people working frantically to make sure the fashion show goes off without a hitch. So you can imagine the relief when everything is over. Going backstage after a show is such a great experience.

Having fun with Italian actress Chiara Francini backstage.

This season, I was able to talk to Jeremy and congratulated him on his beautiful collection. He is such a sweetheart and held my hands the entire conversation.

I hope that you enjoyed my photo documentary, for the runway show itself, click here please. And for the post about my yummy outfit, click here please.

You Have My Heart

The heart shape as a motif is impossible to ignore in fashion right now. Already in June last year, I posted about the heart shaped bag trend. Fans of the heart bag may not intrinsically realize it, but the motif speaks to a psychological comfort during a time when things are still incredibly uncertain.

CHANEL debuted pastel quilted flap bags in the shape of chunky hearts on the S/S 2022 runway and they immediately sold out everywhere. I found one for you pre-owned in great condition, that is 15% off right now, please see below.

The shape of a heart is so beautiful, but also gives good energy and in some ways, hopefully, spreads love. Valentine’s Day is coming up and I thought you might get inspired. However heart shaped bags aren’t just for Valentine’s Day and weddings, just saying… happy shopping!

My Look: Meet Me Under The Mistletoe

«Why do cows wear bells? Because their horns don’t work.» Joking aside, there is a huge discussion going on in Switzerland. It is said that the classic cow bells worn by Swiss bovines could be damaging the animals’ hearing and feeding habits, according to researchers in Zurich.

So it might be much safer if fashionistas wear them instead. Call me a dopey cow. I love fashion with a sense of humor and nobody does it better than Jeremy Scott for Moschino. This costume actually makes quite some noise when you are wearing it. So you can meet me easily under the mistletoe.

My look: Tweed jacket with cow bells, and matching pencil skirt, silk shirt with cow print, cow print leather bag, and funny cow hoop earrings, all by Moschino (F/W 2021), Averly 100 bow-detailed satin pumps by Jimmy Choo.

Sandra’s Closet Halloween Costumes

I am not a fan of those typical costumes for Halloween, poorly produced, made out of horrible materials, they create waste and are bad for the environment. Luckily, many Halloween costumes can be easily created just from the clothes in your closet and common household items.

Think of one of your favorite iconic movie characters and dress like them. If you have a lot of pink in your closet, then you can probably pull off an Elle Woods or become a Barbie girl (think of the latest Valentino Pink PP collection). Or be a «Queen of Hearts». Put on a long preferably red dress and find your household deck of cards for this easy DIY costume. Just attach some cards with safety pins and off you go. The easiest way is to play with make-up and accessories such as a pair of funky boots and stockings, top it off with a little flour in your hair to make it wiry and wild, and carry around your kitchen broom or your Dyson.

Personally speaking, I always put together costumes with pieces from my own closet. However, I know that my wardrobe is huge and I have many items that scream «dress up» already. Here some of my designer outfits that would be perfect for Halloween! Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana along with Prada are the brands that offer the easiest take on fashion with humor. See Everything Through Rose-Colored Glasses

With an unduly cheerful, optimistic, or favorable view of things: now you can literally see everything through rose-colored glasses. Being a huge trend this season, designers offer a large selection of sunglasses in all shades of pink to choose from. The choice is yours!

As I love pink, I couldn’t resist myself…

I am spreading the love with my curation of heart shape bags you will want to have and to hold. If you’re looking out for a quite literal take on a romantic gift for the one or a little treat for yourself, brands are rolling out something for you in their S/S 2022 collections. Heart shape bags are a must this summer with CHANEL leading the trend as they already did over 25 years ago… You will be astonished for how much the vintage heart shape edition is selling on Farfetch. Just scroll to the end to explore it… I am keeping mine for sure. I have always known it is a great investment piece.

My Look: The Doll

Art Basel is taking place, time to talk about art, my kind of art!

Fashion is art and you are the canvas – in my opinion it is a cultural good that should be remembered and that I want to preserve for generations to come. Therefore I am dreaming of and working on opening my museum one day. I like to call fashion as a form decorative or applied art. Just think of the amount of artistic expression that goes into clothes and the way you style a look.

I love to dress up, and I mean really dressing up. Jeremy Scott for Moschino is one of those designers who creates fashion as art for me, his designs are outstanding, different, you just want to look at them. When I add the crinoline to my pink leather dress, it becomes such piece of art for me. It is not practical, but looking at a sculpture, a painting or a fresco, who would say that art needs to be practical? It needs to be beautiful in the eye of the beholder. And in this case, it makes me happy, call me the doll!

My look: Pink belted leather dress (Look 26 F/W 2020) with crinoline underskirt (exclusively produced for me), cake slice clutch bagpearl-embellished belt, and peace pearl-embellished pendant earrings, all by Moschino, tiara headbandicon by Miu Miu, and leather over-the-knee boots by Alexander McQueen.

The photos were taken inside Galerie Gmurzynska‘s Zaha Hadid exhibition.
