When I spotted the press release, I reminded myself that I still had this draft about a tour around Maui from 2012 that I haven’t published yet. Who has ever been there knows about its magic. The beautiful beaches, surfing, the weather, the islands’ lush greenery, colorful flowers, and yummy fish, the landscape that ranges from Scottish Highlands to a tropical rainforest, all together inspired those 12 fresh new nail shades.

Printed, flowing fabrics dominated spring runways, with patterns and graphics in both bold and muted hues. Warm, ethereal neutrals in shades of rose, peach and mint added a soft, feminine note,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. “That’s Hula-rious!, a pastel mint green from the Hawaii Collection, was seen at Charlotte Ronson’s S/S 2015 NYFW show; this shade was used to create a cutout half moon manicure that complemented the designer’s youthful presentation.

My Look: Maui Sunset Dinner

Dinner Maui

During my stay in Maui, I watched many beautiful sunsets. The light is so amazing – colouring the sky in shades of yellow, orange, blue and purple. I captured some of those moments for you with my camera.

One of my favourite places on the island to have dinner and watch the sundown is the Italian restaurant Sarento’s On the Beach in Kihei, Maui. Great food, great service and great location.

My look: White ruffled dress by Tibi, coral shape heels by Chanel, glitter sunglasses by Miu Miu and necklace Pearl Drape with horse clasp by Gabriele Frantzen.
On my nails: Believe created with Cher by Deborah Lippmann

My Look: On Top of the Volcano

Vulcano

This week, I drove up to Haleakalā National Park which is surrounding and including the crater. This massive vulcano forms more than 75% of the Hawaiian Island of Maui and its activity is in a non-eruptive phase. The temperature near the summit tends to vary and on my way up, I went through the clouds. On top of the vulcano, it was drizzling from time to time and quite cool but the nature is breathtaking.

As you see, I followed my own fashion advice and went for some Hawaiian prints. For the previous post on this trend, please click here.

My look on top of the vulcano: Hawaiian-print silk tunic dress (on sale) iconand Hawaiian-print silk tapered pants (on sale), both by Stella McCartneycat eye glitter acetate and metal sunglasses iconand suede sandals, both by Miu Miu and small Marcie hobo bag in Skylight Blue iconby Chloé.

It looks like I landed on the moon, doesn’t it?! And what do you think of my natural curls?

LoL, Sandra

Aloha from Maui

Aloha

Finally I have arrived in paradise: Maui, the second-largest of the Hawaiian islands, in the middle of the Pacific ocean. The perfect place to relax and enjoy myself. The last time, I have been to Maui was fifteen years ago but nothing has really changed.

Of course, I will be blogging while I am here, cannot live without it anymore. Very funny, I will be taking the S/S 2012 Hawaiian fashion trend to a complete new level by wearing the tropical prints at their actual birthplace. So please stay tuned for more outfit posts to come.

My look: White embellished bikini by Valery Blu.

LoL, Sandra
