Logos for the Future

Today I would like to introduce you to an amazing digital contest and charity project powered by MSGM, the Italian fashion brand founded in 2009 by Massimo Giorgetti: LOGOS FOR THE FUTURE. MSGM’s followers are called to design an original logo graphic and to post it on Instagram with the hashtag #LOGOSFORTHEFUTURE, tagging @MSGM.

Massimo Giorgetti himself will select the 5 best logos, which will be featured in a limited edition capsule collection, soon to be launched on MSGM’s selling channels. Great news is that 100% of the collection profits will be donated to Save The Children Italia, to fund their campaign helping children in need of material and educational support following the Covid-19 emergency.

Winners will be asked for a high-res 300dpi+ scan or vectorial file for their logo submissions and will receive a €1000 gift card to spend on MSGM.it. Entries will be accepted until June 15, 2020.

I immediately decided to take part in this competition and designed a few logos that are inspired by childhood memories and the vibrant colours MSGM stands for.

Good luck!

LoL, Sandra

My Look: Call Me!

Call me a true fashion lover. This look has become one of my favorites of the season, exaggerated houndstooth pattern, combined with a logo print cape and my new Hermès Himalaya Birking bag which is considered the holy grail in a handbag collection. It is crafted from Nile crocodile hide. The name «Himalaya» is inspired by the delicate gradation of the colour that is resembling the majestic, snow-capped mountains. The process of dyeing the leather is exponentially more difficult as the shades lighten. It takes a lot of time and craftsmanship. I feel blessed to call one my own.

My look: Wool-jacquard cape by Gucci, bow-detailed houndstooth wool-blend sweater and houndstooth jacquard-knit shorts, both by Alexander McQueen, T-Rex shearling-lined logo-print coated canvas and leather ankle boots by Fendi, set of two silver-tone and crystal hair slides by Saint Laurent, sunglasses by CHANEL, rose diamond ring by Piaget and Himalaya Niloticus crocodile Birkin bag by Hermès.

LoL, Sandra

In New York for Alexander Wang x H&M

Wang x H&m First Look

Greetings from New York City where I am at the moment for the launch event of Alexander Wang x H&M. The highly anticipated collection which had been announced back in April, will finally hit H&M stores around the world on November 6, 2014.

View from Soho Grand

While I am writing this post, I am enjoying the view from my room at the Soho Grand hotel.

Wang HM Invite

The invitation says it all. Tonight, the cocktail reception will start at 7.30pm, followed by the show, a pop-up store where we can buy the collection first hand and a live performance which I am absolutely convinced will be amazing.

Do you remember Nicki Minaj and Prince playing at the Versace x H&M launch in 2011 or the amazing party to celebrate Maison Martin Margiela x H&M two years ago in NYC? We always talk superlatives. Be sure to follow me tomorrow on instagram @sandrascloset for live updates.

Wang x H&M Preview

By now you might have seen some sneak previews of the very sporty collection. The press release reveals that Alexander Wang X H&M captures the speed of the city, mixing sports and performance of everyday life. The pieces are meant to be worn on the street, in the gym, at the club – the way women and men live their lives today.

Rihanna led the way and was already spotted in a look from the collection: a stretchy crop top and leggings emblazoned with Wang’s blocky logo.

In addition to apparel for both women and men, the collection includes shoes and bags, as well as “objects,” a selection of everyday items that are infused with a sense of humor and irony, as for example mini sized boxing gloves as key-rings or a whistle on a two-finger ring and for the victor, a magnetized Alexander Wang trophy cup.

Below you can enjoy a sneak preview of the advertising campaign shot by Mikael Jansson for Wang’s one-off collaboration with H&M that features sports gear like a hockey stick and boxing gloves plus real athletes, soccer player Andy Carroll and kickboxer Rivaldino dos Santos.

We wanted to take certain elements of each sport and portray the ultimate warrior,” Wang told WWD. “The girls had to feel big and heroic, and Mikael used sunlight glares to heighten that effect against a stark white backdrop.

I am truly excited for tonight’s event! Stay tuned for more!

LoL, Sandra
