Most Important S/S 2023 Accessories Trends

We live in times where micro trends play an important role thanks to a constantly changing algorithm-influenced universe. So it feels almost like a miracle when so many designers’ visions align to deliver us a wide-ranging group of trends for the season. Enjoy the act of accessorizing this S/S 2023 season!

LoL, Sandra

We all know that gloves are a cold weather wardrobe stable, which is a shame because they really work magic for immediately making any outfit just a little bit more wonderful. The black mesh or lace opera glove is still an eveningwear standard, but for spring, designers pushed it a bit further with ruffles, embellishments and net details.

Physically blooming from tops, skirts and dresses, florals show up as 3-D appliqués this season.

What comes up must come down, so it’s only logical that, after seeing belts get tinier and tinier, the pendulum would swing the other way.

Punk is not dead, the choker is back!

These frames with an ’80s vibe are edgy, cool, and perfect for unexpected styling combinations.

Big hats will protect you not only from the elements but also deliver stylish privacy.

Body jewelry is elevating the body to a walking canvas.

Most Important F/W 2018 Accessories Trends

When it comes to accessories, there are those born of necessity and those born of coquetting. This season, there are both, from practical shopping bags to small pouchettes worn as belts or necklaces. As for the pleasure of fashion, there’s a new emphasis on statement earrings, chunky sneakers, and ever-impractical gloves that render a touchscreen phone essentially useless. So you better carry them only in your hands. Below are the 10 accessory trends worth trying next fall.

LoL, Sandra

The season’s animal-print shoes ensure that everyone will be looking at your feet when you make an entrance.

Designers were thinking about the potential of the classic silk scarf accessories, using them as bag straps; purse accessories; nontraditional ankle straps or wrapped around the head.

Sneakers, sneakers, sneakers – the hype is to over yet! The large, thick-soled models offer new extremes while being orthopedically posh.

Personally speaking, I adore this season’s necklace pouchettes and belt bags as they are so practical. Large enough to fit just the essentials inside, it’s a hands-free way to go.

The oversized statement earrings are here to stay – the bigger the better.

Shopping bags and plastic totes are the new luxe accessories. This is what high-low fashion is all about.

Matching your boots to your outfit will give you this winter’s most sophisticated look for an eye-catching effect.

This season’s totes and carryalls are, in all seriousness, quite supersized, pack your weekenders in style.

This season’s best gloves extend to the elbow and come in all the colors of the rainbow.

The cowboy boot is the must-have boot for fall. This Western silhouette is having a moment from New York to Paris and beyond.

My Look: Ready, Set, Snow!

Today, I am flying back from an amazing trip through Yucatán. For the past two weeks, I tried to stay away as much as I could from social media and other work related distractions to recharge my batteries fully. Here you see me at Wasserngrat Restaurant during the ASW Winter Weekend in Gstaad in December. I cannot imagine that I have to get back to winter clothes in a few hours… but I have to admit they look nice as well.

My look: Ski overall with fur embellishments, fur snow boots, and gloves, all by Prada, fur stole by FendiBoy bag with chains by Chanel, embroidered sweater by Gucci.

Most Important S/S 2018 Accessories Trends

After this weekend’s summary about the 15 most important runway trends for S/S 2018, I thought you might enjoy a look also at the must-have accessories for next summer. The forecast: Get ready for your another sumptuous season! Many things are here to stay or will even take it up a notch. Sneakers are trendier than ever and have taken center stage. The ugly shoe phenomenom explores new heights as seen at Balenciaga‘s collaboration with Crocs. And we can deny it no longer: the fanny pack is here to stay. Earrings and straw hats are bigger than ever and bags are most beautiful in an array of patterns.

If the Broom Fits

Halloween 2015

Looking for a last minute Halloween costume? Craft yours out of pieces that will have a place in your closet throughout the year. I am sure that you have something black that is reminiscent of the ongoing Victorian trend. The F/W 2015 catwalks were full of Halloween-style looks. I prefer a stylish high end of-the-moment ensemble instead of the predictable animal ears or plastic mask.

Get the look: Ruffled silk-blend lace dressicon and embellished suede gloves, both by Alexander McQueen, embellished flocked brocade cape by Simone RochaMadison lace-up suede sandals by Paul Andrew2Jours embellished textured-leather shoulder bag by Fendi and nose ring in gunmetal-tone and crystal by Givenchy.
