My Look: Lion’s Run

This week, I did «Lion’s Run», a fun car rally that took us through Germany, Austria, Italy, and France in only five days. Here you see me on the third day when I left Milan with a private police escort in the morning and drove to San Vincenzo in the Italian Aosta Valley.

My long bomber jacket is embellished with «Mickey, the Rat», created by the cartoonist Robert Armstrong, who is known for popularizing the term «couch potato».

Givenchy Zodiac Earrings

Creative director Clare Waight Keller began her zodiac jewellery line for Givenchy with a piece reflecting her own sign, Leo, before expanding into the eleven remaining signs and these gold-tone brass earrings are the captivating result.

My sign: Aquarius Earrings by Givenchy

They’re sculpted in Italy as matching figures with dangling drops and come with a black grosgrain ribbon, allowing them to be alternatively worn as pendants. Style them as the focal point to a muted evening edit.icon

Coat Up In Style

With fall coats this cute and versatile, we dare you to pick just one. Sounds difficult, not this time! With these reversible options, you are getting two for the price of one. So you can stay ahead of the fashion game and coat up in style. Furthermore I have always loved the idea of reversible items,  they take up less space in your wardrobe and you can inconspicuously wear the same thing two days in a row.

Here are my favorite options available at the moment, just click on the highlighted text to be transferred directly to the shop:

The Game Changer: The Cape

Capes appeared on the fashion radar last year in full force, when an array of designers put their high-fashion spin on this classic cover-up. Personally speaking, I have been a fan of capes since forever because they are the perfect pieces to wear over voluminous shoulders, big sleeves or embellishments. The trend is thankfully still going strong and giving us good incentive to go hands-free when we wrap up this season. My advice, opt for a statement piece that will make heads turn. It can be inspired by the current ’70s bourgeoisie trend, come with a military vibe, be vibrant or knitted. Here are my favorite ones available with the power to elevate even the plainest of outfits.

My Look: Dream On

Viktor & Rolf launched the Tulle capsule collection on the occasion of their 25th year anniversary last year, a reinterpretation of their iconic couture collections. Made in soft tulle fabrics, the garments serve as contemporary layering pieces available in a multitude of vibrant colour variations with kitsch slogans for the ultimate fashion statements. As the designer duo stopped doing ready-to-wear in 2015 to focus only on couture, this is for everyone who still wants to wear their amazing designs in daily life.

My look: Red sheer tulle cape, and Dream On. Icon 1.2 T-shirt, both by Viktor & Rolf Tulle,  «Paris Cosmopolite» Pré-fall 2017 Métiers d’Art Gabrielle bag, cuff and earrings, all by Chanellace flared pantsicon by Givenchy, Bianca leather sandals by Saint Laurent, and embellished aviator sunglasses by Alexander McQueen.

Stay tuned for a full report coming up from Viktor & Rolf’s outstanding Haute Couture show last week in Paris to which I wore this look.

Fourth of July Style

Today is Independence Day (colloquial: the Fourth of July), a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the Declaration of Independence of the United States on July 4, 1776. So here is my round-up of patriotic but fashionable pieces to wear to all those Fourth of July parties or of course all year around. Luckily, designers have found plenty of ways to transmute the classic stars and stripes motif into something fun, and dare I say elegant.
