My Look: Grecian Goddess in Provence

Mary Katrantzou has referenced her heritage for the first time for her S/S 2017 collection and I definitely couldn’t resist this «Hemera» dress which is printed with Grecian gods and has classic Cretan pottery patterns embroidered onto the shoulder straps. I teamed mine with a statement necklace and a striped cardigan on vacation in France.

My look: Hemera printed silk-georgette dressicon by Mary Katrantzou (40% off), floral-appliqué striped wool-blend cardiganicon by Gucci, gold-tone, tassel and stone necklace (50% off) by Etroicon, Elephant striped leather shoulder bag by Loewe, and vintage suede pumps by Yves Saint Laurent.

My Look: One-Shoulder Dress

I always like to explore new designers. One that has caught my eye is Esteban Cortazar who is inspired by his formative years in Miami’s South Beach in the ‘90s, as well as his time working alongside couture seamstresses as Emanuel Ungaro’s Creative Director. “It is a very personal vision; one that empowers women by making them feel beautiful,” he says of his collections.

My look: Asymmetric one-shoulder ribbed stretch-knit dress and ruffled cotton-trimmed ribbed stretch-knit leggings, both by Esteban Cortazar, Elephant striped leather shoulder bag by Loewe, goat hair-trimmed leather pumps by Guccismiley emoji black pearl crystal long necklace, carved pearls necklace and wide cuff, all by Chanel.

Ugh… January…

Get the look (from collage above): Striped open-knit blazer and matching flared pants, both by Balmainstretch-jersey turtleneck top by TheoryElephant striped leather shoulder bag by Loewe, laser-cut suede ankle boots by Alaïa and gold-tone, resin and crystal clip earrings by Dolce & Gabbana.

Yes, we’re almost through January and yes, it’s pretty bad: baltic temperatures, dark all the time, hardly anything left in your size in any of the sales. But try not to take it too hard. Instead indulge in the new season and take some bold stripes to fight the winter blues.

I have spent the last week with a rapt, sunny smile on my face, trying to out-cheer these grim conditions with the help of some vibrant colors that you can easily incorporate in your wardrobe.

Bold stripes are trending this summer. If you would like to wear them now, just add a turtleneck for more warmth. This is what I would call beating January!

Or escape to the Caribbean as I did…
