Cinderella for a Day

Mytheresa x Gianvito Rossi Dinner Cover

What else could you wish for? A castle, a princess and a shoe designer. Sometimes dreams come true and you can feel like Cinderella. Only difference? I wouldn’t leave my heels behind.

The occasion was very special. Princess Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis, Gianvito Rossi and mytheresa.com hosted a private dinner at the Palace of St. Emmeram in Regensburg, Germany to celebrate their collaboration.
The designer and the luxury e-tailer celebrated their successful on-going relationship which includes special capsule collections created exclusively for the site.

GQ_MAENNER_DES_JAHRES_TIN0050 2

The German GQ Men Of The Year awards 2011 took place last night in Berlin. As I had told you already yesterday morning, it was Daniele Cavalli who walked away with GQ’s Man of the Year award in the category “fashion”, handed over officially by his father Roberto Cavalli. The laudatory speech was held by Elisabetta Canalis.

For the interview with Daniele Cavalli, please click here.

While Jared Leto was awarded Most Stylish Man of the Year, it was model Daisy Lowe, daughter of Bush-frontman Gavin Rossdale, who led the women in style stakes, rocking a red, voluptious gown. She was also the „First Lady“ of the night and won the GQ’s Woman Of The Year award which was introduced by fashion designer Wolfgang Joop.

Musical highlight of the event was the performance of 15-year-old Dionne Bromfield who dedicated her song to her late godmother Amy Winehouse.

The Louis Vuitton F/W 2011 Show

Decor 1

W 2011

W 2011Louis Vuitton’s F/W 2011 show had already the best invitation with a gorgeous tassel hanging from it. Marc Jacobs also touched the Parisian World War II-era like Miu Miu did but he added a fetish vibe which is said to be a metaphore for women’s obsession with bags. Talking about the power of a handbag which brand could be better than Louis Vuitton.

The show’s decor was absolutely amazing. Four elevators transported the models on stage. Porters for each opened the lift doors like in a luxury hotel.

The looks were all about peaked caps, sculpted jackets, jodhpur pants, tiny little briefs and below-the-knee pencil skirts.

Later on, French maids in plasticized lace and embellishments in the shape of masks and handcuffs started to exalt the imagination.

Kate Moss presented the last look waving a cigarette and looked smoking hot in both senses. If you are interested, you can watch the show by clicking here.

The must-have Louis Vuitton bag for F/W 2011 will be the reinterpreted 1958 top-handle Lockit bag. For the show, some versions had a diamond encrusted handcuff attached to it.
What can you say… such a Louis Vuitton handbag is for life.

Below you can see which celebrities were spotted at the show. I hope that you will like it.

Cosmic Blossom

LV Cosmic Blossom

Welcome spring with Louis Vuitton`s Cosmic Blossom collection – a new collaboration with Takashi Murakami. After the success of the Monogram Cerise, Eye Love Monogram, Monogramouflage and Monogram Multicolore, Louis Vuitton presents  the cute smiling flowers (the blossoms have been the Japanese artist`s signature work for a long time) in three vibrant colours (rose, blue and violet) on leather goods, ready-to-wear and accessories. The collection is modeled by Daisy Lowe and will be available at Louis Vuitton stores on April 15th 2010.

LV Cosmic Blossom 2

Interesting to know is that Louis Vuitton has developed a new serigraphy technique to give the leather goods a superb glossy effect and intense colour.

LV Cosmic Blossom 3

Takashi Murakami`s artistic style is called “Superflat” and comments on “otaku“, the Japanese lifestyle with obsessive interests, particularly in  anime, manga or video games as well as consumerism and fetishism. The printed artwork shows mostly flat planes of colour and graphic images involving characters from the Japanese comic world.

I love Louis Vuitton`s Cosmic Blossom flower power and will surely get a piece for my little Murakami collection!
