Love Monkey

Doting love is when you are extremely and uncritically fond of someone, something a mother feels for her child. In German, we call this behavior «Affenliebe» which translates into monkey love. According to some scientists, these intense, special exchanges that human mothers share with their offspring might have deep roots all the way back in monkeys. Both species use the same gestures and affectionate behaviors towards their children. When I was a little girl, I learnt a lot about primates as my mother, who is the biggest animal rights activist you can imagine, is totally fond of those animals.

As Mother’s Day is coming up and the tropical trend is huge this summer, I would like to dedicate today’s post to all those amazing fashionable pieces featuring those cute little monkeys. I am sure that not only my mum will go bananas seeing them.

And in case you are wondering why I didn’t call the post «monkey love», here is the answer. In the urban dictionary this expression stands for crazy animalistic sex requiring acrobatic poise. It can also be termed «monkey lovin‘». Isn’t it funny how you can go wrong just translating a word correctly?

A Fashionistas’s Bedding: Catwalk

World Sleep Day was two days ago and it made me realize that the right bedding can make or break how the whole room feels. One of the most popular bedding trends for 2020 is the use of bold, striking patterns in stark shades of black and white. And if you are really a fashion lover as I am, you should add some stylish bed sheets to your decor.

Recently on a shopping spree in town, I spotted CHRISTIAN FISCHBACHER‘s newest luxury bedding line called «Catwalk». This light-hearted design, available in pink and white, is smattered with fashion classics in a tongue-in-cheek homage to iconographic designs. It is illustrated in the light, narrative style of fashion magazines and blogs – you will be reminded of CHANEL sunglasses and nail polishes, LOUBOUTIN heels and AESOP creams, topped off with champagne, strawberries and macarons. This beautiful satin bedding whisks you away on a city break to Paris and makes it look like a chic fashionista has just emptied the contents of her handbag all over a hotel bed.

A Relaxing Weekend Ahead

Relaxing_Weekend

Today, I got back from a wonderful trip to Geneva with Nescens. The last weeks have been crazy with travelling, Los Angeles, Paris, next week, I will fly to London and Vienna. Therefore, I am so happy to have a very relaxing weekend ahead of me that I am planning to spend most of the time cuddled up in bed with my laptop. I have so many amazing things to show you.

Weekendread-2

For my Swiss based readers, I have also two reading suggestions for the weekend: First of all, my new column in the SI Style magazine is out now. This time, I am telling you a little bit more about my experience with the Fifty Shades of Grey triology. Second of all, the recent edition of Swiss News, the international magazine of Switzerland, is available now featuring a beautiful three-page portrait of one of my favourite designers, Mary Katrantzou.

And in case you are curious in which linen I will be all cuddled up, most of my bedding is by Christian Fischbacher. I just love their quality, fabrics and designs. The one you see in the photos is Cloque, one of my favourites as it doesn’t need to be ironed. Have a great weekend!
