Wanderlust Sweaters

Do you feel this wanderlust, this strong desire to travel the world? I love travelling the world and hope that soon our lives will be back to normal and less restricted to explore the world. Gabriela Hearst created a sweater series this season that I have fallen in love with.

In her exploration of North, Central and South America this season, The designer wanted to translate some of the continent’s most beautiful places into colorful knitwear patterns. Knit in 100% cashmere for the ultimate in luxury and softness, the Ines Sweater depicts:

  • the high mountains and ski runs in Aspen, Colorado
  • the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park
  • the ancient mountain ridges and ruins in Machu Picchu, Peru (on my bucket list)
  • Teotihuacán, the ancient Aztec pyramid known as the Temple of the Sun outside of Mexico City.

Knit and hand embroidered by artisans in Italy, those sweaters are as unique as they are beautiful.
To order just click on the highlighted texts above. Wouldn’t it be an amazing gift to surprise someone with a trip to one of the destinations and gift the sweater as a gift voucher…

LoL, Sandra

My Look: Chanel Airlines

«The bad news is time flies. The good news is you are the pilot! Your wings already exist, you just have to start to fly.»

I love flying (literally in all ways, sometimes it is good to get my feet back on the ground). When I was a little girl, I hung a world map in my room and put little needles in the locations I had visited. This poster is still in my parent’s house and whenever I come back home, I add the new ones. I have seen many countries, visited all five continents as travelling has been my other big passion besides fashion, but ones you see the magnitude of our planet, you realize how small you are and even if you think that you have seen so much, you have not seen a lot! Speaking off which, bye bye Switzerland! Off I go… comfy but in style!

My look: Cashmere sweater, cashmere top, matching pants, sneakers, backpack, circle messenger bag and airplane brooch, all from Chanel‘s flight-themed «Chanel Airlines» S/S 2016 collection.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

St.Patrick'sDay

To all my Irish readers, Happy St. Patrick’s Day 2012!

When I lived in Chicago, one of my favourite days during the year was the 17th of March when the Chicago River was dyed green for this special occasion (see tiny photo to the left). It is a 50-year tradition in the American city where many Irish are living.

Did you know? It’s said that blue was originally the colour associated with the holiday but over time green took over in popularity due to Ireland’s nickname as “The Emerald Isle”, the green in the Irish flag and the clover that St. Patrick used in his teachings about Catholicism.
Thank God, it was changed to green as blue would have been such an ordinary colour for the Chicago river.

During my last trip to Ireland, it was raining pretty much all the time. This inspired me to style this fashionable outfit for the more humid days:

Star-print rain coat by Miu Miu, cable-knit cashmere sweater by Ralph Lauren Black Label, high-waisted cotton-canvas skirt by See by Chloé, 1970 small leather shoulder bag by Gucci and Wellington boots by Hunter.
