My Look: Fall Is Coming

Fall is coming and you can feel it everywhere. The colors change and the layers multiply. I love to mix and match old and new pieces. Going through my closet and browsing through my pieces, is something I absolutely enjoy. After the warm season, your personal winter wardrobe always feels kind of new again.

My look: Sequined crepe trench coaticon by Balmain, Alex metallic leather knee-high boots by Alexandre Vauthier, vintage metallic rose pink lambskin leather motorcycle city bag by Balenciaga, black and white tweed jumpsuit (S/S 2020 Look 8), tweed cap, and pearl earrings (Métiers d’Art 2015 Paris – Salzburg), all by CHANEL.

My Look: Tie-Dye

Once the preserve of hippies and ravers, tie-dye has moved into the mainstream. Psychedelic and colorful, the trend prominent in the ‘60s and ’70s has returned to the runways, giving 21st-century fashion a playful twist. With its uplifting mood, the trend gathered steam during the pandemic and has remained popular ever since. I love my Gabriela Hearst tie-dye pieces that transport a little bit of summer into fall.

My Look: GreenGo

This week my favorite hotel, my home away from home, the famous Gstaad Palace hotel opens its doors again for the summer season. Such great news as I cannot wait to be back. We have already booked our stay in winter. Hopefully, the GreenGo club will also be open again by then. Personally speaking it is one of my favorite night clubs in the world and I am looking forward to dancing again to the sound of DJ Jim Leblanc. With its unparalleled design, an unbelievable dancefloor floating above a swimming pool, every night is one to remember. My outfit is definitely ready …

My Look: Girls’ Night

I am so happy that finally restaurants are allowed to open at least their outdoor terraces. Switzerland has been pretty soft in terms of lockdown compared to other countries. However, bars, night clubs and indoor restaurants are still closed. I miss my girls’s night out so much, dressing up and enjoying a great evening is something that makes me happy. As I think that it will still take a while, I already planned wearing boots. Just choking, or probably not.

My look: Studded ruched plunge-neck jersey mini dressicon by Alexandre Vauthier, Desida leather knee bootsicon by Manolo Blahnik, Barbie embroidered appliquéd canvas clutchicon by Olympia Le-Tan, Egyptian style necklace by CHANEL (Métiers d’Art Pre-fall 2019 Paris – New York collection).

My Look: Chic Happens

Chic happens – especially when you are in Gstaad even if you just go for a stroll … I am so happy to be back up in the mountains at my home away from home, the Gstaad Palace hotel. Injecting some color into your wardrobe is an immediate mood booster and elevates an outfit to new heights. You should try it …

The Red Dress Effect

Red: it signifies power, boldness, and confidence. Whether you’re choosing lipstick or clothing, you will definitely make a statement. The vibrant hue represents all things emphatic – stop signs, fire trucks, London’s telephone booths, Ferraris, Louboutin’s shoe sole, good luck (in Chinese culture) and of course fierce love! Personally speaking, it is my number one choice for holiday attire.

It has been asserted that it also acts subconsciously how you are perceived. Chris de Burgh‘s famous hit Lady in Red was inspired by the memory of when he first saw his wife Diane wearing a red dress. See, the red dress can even get you a famous husband, haha!

Click here for the previous outfit post.

Scientists speak of the red dress effect, a putative phenomenon in which a woman wearing a red dress, are perceived to be more sexually appealing than she is when wearing other colours. In primates, a visual indicator of female fertility occurs by way of swelling during the follicular phase and is correlated with increased estrogen levels. Here we have proof that men tend to act like primates, haha! Sorry I had to do it again…

Red dresses are a beautiful choice, also for New Year’s Eve. I put together some beautiful ones and as it is Christmas, they are all on sale. Happy shopping!

My Look: Atelier Swarovski

Last week, I spent two amazing days in Venice with Atelier Swarovski and Marie Claire Italia for the Film Festival. Before telling you more about the event, I would like to show you my sparkling outfit. The dress is from Mary Katrantzou’s S/S 2013 collection and for me one of the best gowns every done with Swarovski crystals. It is like a piece of art. To finish off the look, I combined some real diamonds with some eye-catching items from Atelier Swarovski’s new Tigris collection.

My look: Alias dress with Swarovski crystals (S/S 2013) by Mary Katrantzou, Cassandre small suede shoulder bag by Saint Laurent, Cha Cha crystal-embellished suede pumps by Alexandre Vauthier, diamond ring and diamond bracelet, both by Vainard Fine JewelleryTigris statement necklace, Tigris drop earrings, Tigris bangle, Tigris stacking rings and Tigris cocktail ring, all by Atelier Swarovski.

My Look: Let’s Play Ballet

This dress is one of my favorites from the S/S 2019 runway collections that I wore to several occasions. It reminds me of a ballet gown and Marilyn Monroe’s most iconic outfits – the way the pleated skirt of this dress moves calls to mind, the famous scene in ’50s film, The Seven Year Itch.  Here you see me shooting it on the terrace of my suite at the COMO The Halkin hotel in London. Located in the city’s Belgravia district, it is an amazing place to stay. The healthy food, the yummy ginger tea infusion (not to be missed!), the service and the beautiful rooms make it an absolute insider tip.

My look: Lace and pleated chiffon maxi dress by Christopher Kane, cropped blazer by Saint Laurentsilver-tone, satin and crystal chokericon by Miu MiuCha Cha crystal-embellished suede pumps by Alexandre Vauthier, printed metallic leather box clutch by Dolce & Gabbana, and cuff by Chanel.

Clearly the Most Stylish Shoes of the Season

It’s a PVC party!  If you feel like you’ve been spotting see-through everything lately, you’re not alone. But this season, designers step up their game by choosing vibrant colours, studs, laces or even lucite heels filled with surprises to attract the attention.

Clearly the most stylish shoes of the season!
