Time for a Play Date

I love the piano, it’s my favorite instrument. This season the piano keyboard has inspired many designers. Listening to a piano concert or even better playing yourself in this look is the ultimate fashion goal.

Get the look: Ruffled silk-georgette top by Elie Saab, pleated jacquard-knit skirticon by Proenza SchoulerDolce Box piano tote and embellished leather pumps, both by Dolce & Gabbana.

If you are thinking about getting a piano, have a look at my favorite one which is said to be the best one in the world: the MODEL D by STEINWAY & SONS. For over 160 years, the company has been dedicated to the art of piano making, setting the uncompromising standard for sound, touch, beauty, and investment value.

Do you want to be my play date?

In the world of fashion, Gucci is the hot ticket at the moment! Alessandro Michele’s revolution is still going on strong season after season and may have not yet reached its final peek yet. His newest must-have is the Gucci Queercore shoe collection, which honors the eponymous 1980s gay punk movement. Serpents on the heels, bees and multi-straps, you just have to choose the model and the color!

Have fun!

Ugh… January…

Get the look (from collage above): Striped open-knit blazer and matching flared pants, both by Balmainstretch-jersey turtleneck top by TheoryElephant striped leather shoulder bag by Loewe, laser-cut suede ankle boots by Alaïa and gold-tone, resin and crystal clip earrings by Dolce & Gabbana.

Yes, we’re almost through January and yes, it’s pretty bad: baltic temperatures, dark all the time, hardly anything left in your size in any of the sales. But try not to take it too hard. Instead indulge in the new season and take some bold stripes to fight the winter blues.

I have spent the last week with a rapt, sunny smile on my face, trying to out-cheer these grim conditions with the help of some vibrant colors that you can easily incorporate in your wardrobe.

Bold stripes are trending this summer. If you would like to wear them now, just add a turtleneck for more warmth. This is what I would call beating January!

Or escape to the Caribbean as I did…

Trend Resort 2017: Pineapples

The grocery store isn’t the only place you’ll be seeing pineapples this spring. The designers have discovered that pineapples are not just a yummy fruit but can also add an interesting element to this season’s fashion looks.

I am currently obsessing over Dolce & Gabbana‘s take on the tropical fruit.
Get the look: Pineapple-print ruffled cotton-poplin dressSicily medium pineapple-print leather tote, pineapple earrings and Keira sandals with pineapple heels, all by Dolce & Gabbana.

Saying «I love you» has never been easier, especially for those finding it hard to express their feelings directly. Gentlemen, here we go, I have the perfect gift.

Dolce & Gabbana‘s printed metallic leather box clutch is crafted from laser-cut metallic leather and printed with a playful message designed to look like lipstick. This Italian-made accessory has a handy internal mirror and the label’s signature flower-embellished padlock. Attach the strap to carry it over your shoulder.

So Fake It’s Good

In general, we are more confronted in life with things that appear real, but most of the time are usually fake. In terms of fashion this season, we are confronted with «fake» T-shirts that are actually true designer pieces, but are looking like counterfeit products.

From Alessandro Michele‘s brilliant idea to create a plain white tee printed with the house’s GG with its signature green and red stripe that looked like a bootleg copy to Dolce & Gabbana‘s logo play.

Both tapped into the same ideas as Gucci‘s collaboration with graffiti artist Trouble Andrew, aka GucciGhost, for F/W 2016, when he sprayed bags with the word «Real» above the house’s name, that flew off the shelves and will come back this season.

T-shirts in the collage from left to right: T-shirt «Drunk and Gorgeous» and T-shirt «Daiquiri & Ginfiz», both by Dolce & Gabbana, appliquéd distressed printed cotton-jersey T-shirt and distressed and floral embroidered logo T-shirt, both by Gucci.

Resort 2017: Miu Miu Pareo Skirt

For Resort 2017, MIU MIU launches the ‘pareoskirt. Inspired by a journey, this infinitely adaptable and audacious design represents the rejection of formality and the independent spirit of the Miu Miu girl as she travels the world broadening her knowledge and experience in the pursuit of personal freedom.

The ‘pareoskirt is available in three variations: in cotton voile Vichy or ‘planet’ prints and in a crêpe de chine check. All are universally recognisable, democratic and as optimistic and light-hearted as the woman who chooses to wear them.

Beloved by continents as diverse as Asia and Africa, the charm of the ‘pareoskirt lies in both its simplicity and immediacy. It is at once familiar – worn equally by men and women across the globe – and highly individual – no two people need ever wear it in quite the same way. In that sense, the ‘pareoskirt is transformative, the ultimate expression of the liberating qualities of the contemporary woman’s wardrobe.

Available from selected Miu Miu stores worldwide, each ‘pareoskirt comes packaged in a special soft fabric envelope stamped with the iconic Miu Miu name, sold at 390€.
Perfect for your next trip to the beach or to layer your next fall look.
